Briefing: A high level contact within the Kapu Qhalki command structure of the nation of Haqqislam has requested training exercises to ensure that Durgama Defense Coalition maintains a viable strategic foothold in the Darpan Xeno Station. Command granted to Captain Vojkan Tomić of Dragnet.
Location: Outskirts of Xenofarm Gamma
Objective: Establish a beachead in Kapu Qhalki territory.
Initial Contact (Turn 1.1)
As indicated by our intelligence Kapu Qhalki forces would be on the defense. Forces were deployed according to plan 69 ID10T as dictated by Captain Vojkan Tomić. Deployment this was going to be a tough one as our heavy infantry and tags will not be available due to refit after the last engagement. A complement of Grenzer’s will be the spear head of this operation and they will be supported by a Puppet Tactica company. We got bogged down unloading from our lander and by the time we made it to our positions the enemy had gained the upper hand.
Kapu Qhalki had apparently fastidiously prepared their defenses and the opening salvo of their defensive strategies tore us to shreds. The majority of our force dug in, unable to advance and to boot we lost the heckler. The puppet with the red fury went down to Azra’il fire. The Kapu Qhalki where able to achieve several objectives while our troops heads where keeping low.
Attempting to turn the Tides (Turn 1.2)
I have always been told don’t swim against the current. But having been born on Tunguska I have never been in a ocean and have only seen them from orbit but I suspect what happened next is the closest I have ever come to experiencing that phenomena. We tried to push the left flank to some success. Mary Problems working with Raoul Spector was able to neutralize an Azra’il using hacking to lock it down and Raul to Attack. This success cost us dearly on time. The Grenzer’s where able to eliminate one of the two snippers but we lost our missile launcher in the process.
Massacre (Turn 2.1)
Kapu Qhalki must have a hell of an officer core because what happened next blew my mind. Three people, an Odalisque, a Al’Hawwa and a Yuan Yuan where able to eliminate a veteran Grenzer sniper, Mary Problems, Raoul Spector In addition pinning down the remainder of the assault team.
One Shot (Turn 2.2)
With only a hacker from the Zondnautica units remaining we attempted to push up and achieve our objectives but were thwarted at every turn. It was at this point that we capitulated in the exercise.
Notes:
I have no doubt that Kapu Qhalki will be able to hold Xenofarm Gamma from the forces of the combined army. We need to invest in faster refit strategies as we needed those Kriza at the beachhead.
