Fellow Nomad Commanders!

I want to inform you that a taskforce under my Command managed to slow down ALEPHs evil doings at darma Xenostation. We stumbled into a Druze Security Team who were obviously the damn AI watchdogs. Full force was aplied in the Nomad way, like every time we have to stand up against ALEPH.
Detailed Report is attached. Looking forward to debriefing and celebrate, hope Cuervo will be served.

Today I will report the battle between my Vanilla Nomads and the Druze commanded by Capo.paint, a guy I got to know via Infinity and who I always apreciate to play with. Not at last because my Morans always seem to overperform when we play. But read yourself.

We played Highly classified with the campaign extra rule, although both of us forgot about the jungle terrain the whole game. I won Initiative and decided to go first.

For Mission classifieds were drawn: Kidnapping, Data Scan, Rescue, Espionage. My secondary classified was my old friend from the last battle, Sabotage. See if i can find redemption with it this time.

I had to deploy first and managed to infiltrate a Moran next to a purple Box on my left flank wich i had chosen for my secondary. Should be doable and I had a repeater and a crazykoala next to Capos deployment Zone. I spent a command token to hold back a second model just to keep him guessing, as the gator and Armand were already at the table. My bounty hunter pulled a Multi Sniper off his pouch with his Booty Roll.

Capo had a Druze Core Link and a Haris composed of Wolfgang, a Digger and a Killer Hacker. Because of the infiltrated Moran he chose to deploy both teams on my right flank, only the MSV2 sniper in the core link standing. on my left were a spitfire bulleteer and his support cohort, a monstrucker, a fugazi and the nazmats. He placed his turret next to my Moran, already having him in its crosshairs. The Digger in the Core rolled a +4 ARM, what frightened me a bit.

My first Turn was one the best I ever had. It started with the puppetacticas AP Marksman Rifle Bot taking out the F-13 Turret to free the Moran. He fulfilled my secondary classified and placed a second Koala next to my opponents deployment zone. Now it was time to try out what the gator is able to do. With his first order he shot an auxbot to pieces which was brought by an infiltrating heavy shotgun Bulleteer and threatened my second Moran inside a Building. Able to move without being toasted, the Moran moved towards the edge of the building to bring the Killer Hacker in the Haris team into repeater range and placed a crazy koala in a very delicious position. That brought Jazz into play, who fried the killer hackers brain. Haris disarmed! Now onto the Core team. The Gator climbed a building and managed to get a sight at the sniper and transformed him into red dust. Core disamed too! At that point I felt comfortable with everyones position and decided to try and strip orders from my opponent. I was afraid of Wolfgang who was to close to my TAG and my HVTs, so the Bounty Hunter should take him out. But first he had to deal with the Bulleteer. Applied Red Fury and Crazy Koala activated…done. Then he managed to shoot Wolfgang unconscious. After that I had one order left in his group and wanted to get ready for Capos turn. Accidently I got into sight of the 7 ARM Digger and took a shot at him with the Multi sniper Rifle, while he tossed a grenade at the Bounty hunter. Surprisingly, the Tank-Digger lost a wound. Now group had 3 regular and one irregular order left. I wanted to use the bandit to fulfill Espionage. Long story short, 4 orders wasted as he failed his WIP roll 3 times. Now I was in a very good position and awaited Capos Turn.

Capo started with the impetous order from the Digger who was in his Haris team. He closed in at my Bounty Hunter, who dodged. The Digger was seen by Armand-who didn´t move the entire game, because he had such a nice sniper spot, thanks to the extra 4″ deployment- who took one wound of him. One Hazmat tanked a CrazyKoala by dodging it and then it was time for a Yuan Yuan to appear. Again I had more luck than brain and Capo wasn´t able to land the Yuan Yuan where he wanted because my troops covered so much space on the board and each other. I would like to say that was my masterplan, but to be honest I did it by accident. So the Yuan Yuan had to come in next to Capos deployment zone and tried -guarded by a smoke grenade- closing in at my infiltrated Moran. Later managed to dodge every single time and survived somehow. After the Yuan Yuans failed onslaught it was time for electronical warfare and Spitfire Bulleteer emerged to take on the Gator. The Gator made the million dollar shot and landed a crit with explosive ammunition on a 5, that took out the drone. This was when I began to feel a bit sorry for my opponent, as my dice were rolling really hot and he had so much bad luck dicewise. Nonetheless he never gave up, props to Capo!!! Back to the game: with his last orders, a Hunzakut, who was hiding in camo state in the middle building, showed up. His mission was to bring the Yuan Yuans task to an end. He did so and killed the Moran, but got shot in return by my F-13 Turret.

Back to Nomads, turn 2. Boy, I was happy with how things were going. I decided to go for missions as i felt safe. Jazz went an befriended a Data banker (should be a good friendship), took her hand and guided her back into my deployment zone into a building that felt safe to wait for extraction. So i marked the HVT: Kidnapping mission as completed. On to the Bandit, who failed in first turn. And surpise: He did the HVT: Espionage in the first try. Nice dude 25% success rate, some boot camp officers will be happy to see you back in the module. I did some positioning and got rid of the Yuan Yuan and handed over to Capo.

Capo tricked me and tried to Data Scan my Morlock with his Brawler hacker, but failed. In his second attempt, I resetted with the Morlock but he made it, targeting my unconscious Mobile Bounty Hunter. Trickery! He positioned the team in order to hide and complete missions in third turn. The Monstrucker had a blast throwing drop bears at my puppets.

Turn 3 Nomads began. The Morlock used his Impetous order to set up a good old beating at the remains of the Druze Core team, coverring itself in smoke.
The Gator advanced to tank the drop bear. Damn thing did a wound to my Gator! The Bandit dressed up as Bob from accounting (impersonation) and moved towards the Monstrucker, yelling greetings at him. He went out of sight a Data Scanned the Monstrucker (first try!) and was rehabilitated. I know again why I love my Bandits. The Gator advanced and Chain Rifled the Monstrucker, a Nazmat and the Fugazi. Monstrucker and Nazmat made their dodges, the Monstrucker finished it in base contact with the Gator. I wanted my giant robo to stomp on the puny unwashed mechanic, but unbelievably it failed two times and lost another wound in close combat with a Monstrucker. I believe the pilot started partying too early. Now, on to the Morlock, ready to spill some blood. It took down the digger and the Druze with grenade launcher, but got shot with a viral pistol. Two orders were left, which I used to bing the surviving Moran closer to Capos Lieutnant, a brawler.

Capo started his last turn in Retreat. After the order count he had only one chance to get at least a draw. The Druze Hacker had to do a lot of work, namely picking up his unconscious comrade, moving into Zone of control of my HVT, making the WIP roll and landing a coup de grace on my Bounty Hunter. Doing all this while in repeater range of my Moran, while Jazz is ready to make some Brain BBQ. He started his advance and Jazz did what she was there to do. At this point we called it.

Phew, what a game! Like I said earlier, everything worked fine for me, meanwhile Capo had so much bad luck. I would have given up way earlier. But, alas, it was so nice to see what a nomad force is capable of when everything is working as intended. I´m not sure about if the Gator will replace the Szalamandra in my lists, but the NCO profile ist a real bargain.

Thanks for reading. See you soon, as the next game is already set, Now I have to take few shots with the guys, especially the bandit. Cheers!
