The Max-Sec Vault: my special goal will be to hold the inner room to get W.A. Wolf back who got captured during the last mission
Not only the Zone of Operations but also W.A. Wolff's current holding cell what it's wide open doors dont let one presume

Despite his bed rest by decree Maj. Hademar wasn’t resting at all. He still had his inner quarrels about the end of his previous mission and that one of Bakunin’s biggest asset, W.A. Wolff, was in PanOceania’s hands for now. Lucky him he was to do all the work that had to be done on his Commlink without even leaving the bed. Thus after a while of data skimming, tapping contacts and hiring a professional hacker from the Baker Module he could conclude the following points:

  • The VIRD detachment that captured Wolff got deployed elsewhere but didn’t take him with them
  • Wolff was still in the Darpan Station (propability: 99.81%) and most likely held captive in the High-security vault (propability: 94,77%)
  • Aleph seemingly prepared their active personnel for a big scale attack against the Nomad held Rail Cannaon propably by virtue of their newly found ally the JSA (propability: 76,38%)
  • Wolff will be guarded by less battle experienced contingets (propability: 99,93%)

These probabilities were definitely worth the risk of engaging an OSS force although he really hated the image of letting bakunians face those wretched Proxies or worse. Nevertheless he again used his networking prowess and some owed favours to gather a new force for this private and not much sanctioned undertaking. An old acquaintance, Sister Andromachi, was eager to restore his faith in the Reverend Custodiers, together with a pair of Rev. Moiras.
Fiddler’s engagement during a side hustle with a Riot Grrl brought gained a full Fireteam even completed by Avicenna herself. This was rounded out by Bran do Castro, a Warcor, Morlocks and a Transduktor Zond.

The real, physical deal
The confusing situation on the battlefield made it impossible for Bran do Castro to infiltrate towards W.A. Woff’s position.
The OSS' RAMBO formation (a deployment overwiew will follow, I forgot to take a screenshot of it)

Now for real, get the Do… Wolff!

The Morlocks did their thing again: running towards the enemy line. In case of the Morlock on the right flank (with NWI) felt some bullets whirring around him, coming from the Deva in the Haris Team who didn’t care about the smoke. The Morlock on the left flank (MOV 8-4) just made some motor bike sounds while running since no one was able to see her and another smoke grenade was tossed on the field.
Now the Reverend Moira could climb the building in front of her and put herself in line of sight of the Dakini sniper whilst maintaining cover. The Dakini in plain sight was no match for her and just got turned into irreparable shambles whilst the Lamedh’s Flash Pulse couldn’t hit her at all. Thus she helped the Lamedh shortly after to follow the Dakini’s path.
This freed the Riot Grrl’s fireteam from a high Calibre hindrance whereby they were enabled to advance towards the Vault. Whilst Fiddler entered the Vault, making contact with Wolff, the Spitfire Grrl turned the Samekh Missile Bot into another irreparable piece of expressionistic art. She then ignored the second Lamedh in order to get the Spitfire Deva into her sight, ending its worldly existence too. Then Fiddler secured the Vault with two Drop Bears whilst he remaining Grrls repositioned them to cover the perimeter better (despite the Bitzen Grrl seemingly got distracted by the information panel).
To further consolidate the position the fast Morlock further advanced towards the enemy line whilst the warcor repositioned slightly.

Definitely irritated by the Riot Grrls’ aggressive approach the Sophotect sprang into action by attempting to destroy the shock mine guarding the left hand access point but couldn’t damage it at all. Unnerved by this the multi gifted AI puppet put itself into the Morlock’s view who effortlessly covered herself in thick smoke.
This audacious behaviour eventually enforced the Asura to act against the Morlock and the anthropomorphic multi-purpose battle platform left nothing to recover after a single burst of her weapon. Energised by this relentless bloodshed the Asura advanced further towards the Riot Grrls’ residing inside the Vault but she overestimated her weapon’s range which resulted in a new stunning article about animal cruelty on the battlefield by the Warcor.
Now bereft of her attack capabilities, and the Sophotect blocked by the Spitfire Grrl’s LOF, the Shukra got the order to act. He too advanced towards the Spitfire Grrl’s position but instead of tippy toeing around he approached the Mine and the Grrl in an Ariadnan manner Shotgun ablaze, clearing the mine with his armour. The Grrl could dodge the shots and ducked into cover. This was exploited by the Shukra with a further movement towards the left gate. But alas, due to her sharpened senses the Grrl used her superior dodging ability to engage him and thus blocking further movement. The Asura then use the Riot Grrl’s hand to hand situation to further advance towards the Vault, remaining out of cover, which was again exploited by the Riot Grrl to leave the engagement with the Shukra.

Right before the Bakuninian Force could act further the OSS commandos withdrew from the Arena in complete form.

In the hospital bed

‘… Apparently the Artificial Intelligence didn’t consider Wolff an asset that would validate any further combative interaction with the likely loss of further valuable Lhost-Vessels. Not a surprise after knowing about their change of strategy. Thus we could recapture the Wulver Bounty Hunter who’ll soon be able to join your forces - after a little interview by our Sisters of the observance of course.

Sincerely,

Sister Andromachi
Reverend Custodier’

The report finished with some good news for Maj. Hademar, who felt truly relieved. Despite last mission’s failure other trustworthy Nomad commanders were able to gather even more crop samples and datasets for the Ploûtos Initiative - be it knowingly or not. In the end the Nomad nation will benefit from those sacrifices.

Finally reunited Fiddler and W.A. Wolff (uwu)

Addendum:

since Maedden is a rather new player we didn’t apply the Campaign special rules, and since his dice weren’t willing to produce any useful results we decided to end the game after the first round and instead discussed how things could’ve done different and so on. To me this seemed to be the better option than to simply continue the game with the risk of a bad experience for a new player
