The alarming chirps coming from the commsat device were definitely bad news. Only distress calls made those noises thus something went wrong somewhere. Raveneye's Port Battery was overrun by Combined Army forces and again High Command needed all hands on deck. Being a Vortex operative had the unfortunate side effect that in case of such a distress call Major Hademar had not only to answer the call but to follow it's orders. Since it was almost impossible to redirect the Aino's course (heading towards the Xenofarm Gamma) Hademar entered a small shuttle capsule together with W. A. Wolff and Fiddler to join with the Bakunin operatives already stationed there.
After briefing with his Lieutenant, a nice chap from the Moderator Corps, the plan involved a classical double spearhead approach backed up by the massive Firepower provided by the Sin-Eaters. In reality it would most likely become a single Spearhead but it was good to have a choice here.
The opponent's mentor seemed have much confidence in his Haiduks since none of the aliens tried to act against the bakunian force. Therefore the Zero was ordered to take out one of the Haiduks. During the Zero's advance towards the Haiduk's foxhole he got discovered by the Nox paramedic. Ironically this proved to be quite advantageous for the Zero because now one of the aliens felt the urge to attack him, the attack failed thus the Zero was able to eliminate the Haiduk.
With their route now cleared W.A.Wolff, Fiddler and the Grrl advanced deep into the enemy's occupied territory and after a short and bloody close combat interaction with the Zero threatening Caliban (who got torn into shreds by W.A.Wolff's cybernetic claw) and two brief but fatal exchanges of bullets between the careless Nox paramedic and W.A.Woff as well as the Mentor and the the Riot Grrl, the ultra feminist was finally able to fulfill her special task by kicking her jet propelled knee into the Haiduk's seed embryo, ending it's worldly existence.
This was followed by Fiddler riddling the alien deployment with some dropbears.
Seeing their defensive bulwark and their chain of command crumble like dried cookies the Shasvastii appeared dazed and confused. Aida Swanson shot at the dropped mines like crazy eventually destroying them some more erratic movement happened Oktavia Grimmsdottir did her best to get her eyes on the Riot Grrl whist the Q-Drone expulsed a salvo towards the bakunian deployment. By sheer bad luck the Moderator Sniper got hit by one of the stray bullets and fell unconcious whilst both of the Shrouded emptied their clips on W.A.Wolff causing him a wound as well.
Since both Shroudeds were able to see the already wounded W.A.Wolff these two posed a real threat fot the whole undertaking thus the Überfallkommando could finally shine. After they were covered against Grimmsdottir's Missile launcher they advanced towards the middle and were able to cloud one of the Shrouded in Eclipse smoke before the Chimera relentlessly killed whilst one of the pupniks cleared Aida's viral mine. Now W.A.Wollf was able to clear the Station's Deck from that alien too which then again enabled Fiddler to use her lats Drop Bear amidst the remains of a Shasvastii force. This third deployable weapon wreaked panic and most of the aliens tried to avoid harm by wildly dodging around. Nevertheless the Corx operative got overwhelmed by the mine's shrapnell after surviving a whole fusilade from Fiddlers Contender. Meanwhile the Sin-Eater advanced towards a better position.
At this point the morale in the Shasvasii's ranks broke. They realized that getting the bakunian beacon under their control was nearly impossible since almost anything could be seen by at least one Sin-Eater and their resources were diminished to such an extent that anything else than an orderly pullback from the port battery would be pure suicide. And suicide is something the Morats are destined for.
"Phew, that was unecpected! But then again what can be expected in these weird times?" Hademar brooded over what happened. The Combat group was successful in dispelling the Shasvastii but couldn't get their beacon into possession. This would definitely result in further attacks on the station but for now the sweeper bots shoud care about the battle remains. After a stint in the medbay Maj. Hademar, Wolff and Fiddler returned back tho their current Mothership, the Aino.
From where they'll pursue their main mandate: searching the Xeno-Farmlands of Darpan to collect some of the highly desired plant and crop samples for Kommune S-87's Ploûtos Initiative
Soo, some real talk here: Dom and I played during an evening which unexpectedly became more eventful than I'd like and which resulted in several involuntary breaks. In the end his losses on the table were still high enough to concede the game with an end result of 2:1 OP in my favour since his Victor Messer constantly failed his spotlight rolls for his classified objective
Definitely enjoyed the way that you broke the game into chapters. Interesting idea, I may try this in one of my future reports!
Impressive work, keep going 🙂
(°∀°)b Great
Excellent report.
thanks a lot y’all!
@TimBotB:
Honestly that’s one of the TTS’ few advantages to a RL game, perfect lighting and focus for the pictures 😀
Great report Bromad!
I dig the screenshots, captions and graphics. Excellent stuff…
This is great! Love the images and graphics!!
Well done, commander. Great report and good job versus the EI.
@Nastya Zoya Shevchenko:
you mean like the pictures right below the group photos? That’s the bird perspective photo of the respecive army deployment 🙂
@tzwenne:
Thanks a lot Bromad! 🙂
Noice !
I like how you had group photos of the teams! I’d love to have seen a ‘seen from above’ shot with markers for deployment.
Very nice Battle Report fellow Bromad
Thanks, Commander
Excellent battle report, Commander!
