This was a very tight, intense game that ended in a barely-scraped-out draw, but the thing that I would very much like to draw attention to is what went on with my Asura, because I think it's fairly emblematic of the issue that has been snapping at my heels throughout this campaign - that I cannot for the life of me roll dice.

Here you see a Deva who is sufficiently enlightened as to succeed through non-action, and an implacable murder-machine that Aleph dispatches when it needs maximum violence but Achilles is busy and/or drunk.
By Turn Three one of these robots will betray me.
Doctors Shotgun and Uzi arrive on the field. They are kind of just guys carrying their namesakes.
They head up to watch this side of the bunker, abandoning their Nazmats to the biotechvore.
Grimlock is singing a sad Sarah McLachlan-like song while a Maya celebrity talks about the cruelty of abandoning peripherals. Or he's just meowing really loudly and constantly.

Things here that I did not manage to take decent pictures of - across the board, a Khawarij squad leapt up and hustled forward a bit, getting into position for next turn, and Tarik Mansuri dashed into the bunker. He's a tough guy and is an Essential Person, so dislodging him is as difficult as it is important.

Here, the aforementioned implacable ultraviolent murder robot sneaks up on basically just a guy with an uzi and a dubious medical degree.

There followed kind of a mess. She dodged into close combat, because CC 20, PH 14, and a fancy weapon should all make short work of the dude, right?

Right?

Several orders and at least one critical hit later, Dr Uzi was unmoved.

The Marut lobs a few rounds ineffectually. The Dakini Squad is marginally more effective, winging Mansuri.
They are swiftly shotgunned by Dr Shotgun.
Khawarij storm up the side!
Hypatia the Sophotect lives up to her name once more. The Khawarij crowd around the antenna for safety; the Yudbot betrays me by surviving, preventing the Marut from applying flamethrowerey. By the way, there's a Marut there. Apparently I managed to not take any pictures of her?
Oh, no, there she is, I suppose. She couldn't flamethrower the khawarij but she -could- flamethrower Mansuri, and did; the Khawarij swiftly shot her down and ran into the bunker. Meanwhile, the Asura FINALLY managed to kill a guy with an Uzi, and did a weird little dance on the other side of the field to claim my objective card.
Last chance - if I can get my lieutenant in there, I can tie off the game. But that's an awful lot of guys staring at the door. She has an intact Devabot and lots of templates to throw around. How can she succeed at this and survive?
Action through non-action. Thepoorman dodged in anticipation of a storm of fire and whatever it is nanopulsers shoot, but she just walked on in and I declined to take her lieutenant order, ending the game. This makes two, now, that the Deva has brought me at least a measure of success by standing in the open with vastly overwhelming firepower pointed at her!

Well that was unexpected, and i’m not talking about the giant feline-like creature

I still can’t believe you forced a draw by just standing there. Good stuff.

Cool looking board. Love the feeling of it being a tightly packed research facility.
…and the minis look really cool too.
