Jasmine rested on the side of wall, nursing the shotgun wound in her abdomen. The fact that she had somehow been forgotten after all the fighting was a miracle, but she knew no amount of first aid would extend her life. Her brothers and sisters in the Hassassin order had fought their hardest under Ariadna ambush, but it wasn’t good enough.
She looked up to see the face of a blond haired woman staring at her. The name tag on her white shirt read “Georgina, Maintenance”, but when she spoke, she recognised the person as another member of the Fiday order.
“Sister, you are gravely wounded. I can bring you to the others. There are still forces on the ship that could help,” ‘Georgina’ said.
“No, leave me! You must warn them. They must get off the Raveneye. We mustn’t forget the real reason our Order sent us here.”, Jasmine replied.
“I will go, sister. But the Hassassins will know of your sacrifice.”
…and with that ‘Georgina’ was gone, leaving Jasmine to reflect on the events leading to her demise.
Jasmine had been on Raveneye for weeks, learning what she could of the forces gathering there. She had infiltrated the Ariadna canteen, serving as a lunch-lady under the name Henrietta. It was there she had learnt that Ariadna command had been vetting ships manifests and had planned an ambush on her Hassassin brethren as they docked enroute to Durgama (It's funny how loose Ariadnan lips become once you give them a drink or ten).
She has managed to slip a coded warning to her forces as they docked, but their response did not fill her with confidence.
"Don't worry. We shall be laying in wait!", it read.
That is why she followed the Araidnans when they laid their ambush, thinking that an offering of biscuits would be enough to avoid their suspicion. She had her heart set on finding the woman who controlled the dogs, but when she couldn't find her, she settled for a hungry-looking Mormaer instead.
‘Georgina' had followed the Ariadnans as well. Did she know of the coming ambush as well?
When the fighting started, it was the animals the Ariadnans sent in first. Giant bears, camouflaged wolves and hairy men raced across the field, launching huge plumes of smoke as they came under rifle fire from a lone Lasiq sniper set atop a high tower. Smoke managed to obscure their advance, but even when the hairy men were struck by bullets, they simply howled before transforming into dog-like beasts.
The lone Lasiq sniper continued to rain bullets down below, before being set upon by the Mormaer and the armoured creature they called a Blackjack. The Lasiq dropped under a hail of bullets from both of them and didn't pop his head up again.
Then came the news Jasmine feared the most. The group's lieutenant had been gravely injured by one of the animals advancing on their lines, although the beast had been put down. A medic was rushing to the Lieutenant's aide, but the group were leaderless right when they needed command the most. Jasmine decided to get closer to the Mormaer, but the fighting had made him trigger happy and he was waving his gun in her general direction.
"Easy now", she responded. "It's only a tray of biscuits."
Jasmine saw 'Georgina' appear from the top of a nearby ladder, which only made the Moremaer twichier. "Not now," she thought to herself. "Give it time!".
On a nearby rooftop, Jasmine watched as her Daylami broke cover and Ariadnan soldiers appeared from behind theirs. The groups traded shots at point blank range. The Daylami survived the initial fire, but were ultimately outnumbered, when the Blackjack returned fire and advanced upon their positions. Jasmine received word that the Lieutenant had gotten on his feet again, but he was pinned down by the advancing Blackjack. Meanwhile, the rest of her brethren had either been killed or mortally wounded by the rampaging Ariadnan animals.
Jasmine's survival instincts told her to retreat, but emotion got the better of her. She was determined to deliver a message to Ariadna for good. She approached the twitchy Mormaer and plunged her knife into his chest. The Mormaer tried to fire his weapon, but Jasmine was quicker and hit her target. But when the knife deflected off chestplate, the Mormaer simply grinned. A shotgun slug from her right floored her, before her world went dark.

Great write up commander!
Excellent write-up, commander. The immersion is pleasing, and the table looks great. I hope this match was as fun to play as it was to read.
Brilliant write up Serratonin, good game too, shame the dice did not favor you.
