Durgama Takeover

It was meant to be a 'quiet routine patrol' through the itinerant Japanese worker encampment. Whilst the Uprising had torn many Japanese from the clutches of the Yu-Jing StateEmpire, there were many industrial enclaves where workers were bound to corporations they could not afford to leave - 'sovereignty' is just another cheaply-traded word in tabloids and late night talkshows when bills need paying, and the best paid opportunities remain within the StateEmpire. This didn't dissuade the local Kuge from trying to whip up nationalist resentment at every opportunity - the recent troubles in Durgama were the perfect gift for them to send in the Kempetei under the guise of protecting the population from incursion, and if a few recalcitrant union heads had some sense knocked into them, so much the better...

The presence of a sizable Kosmoflot force was an unexpected surprise for the Kuge. They hadn't anticipated that union leaders to reach out to Ariadna against their corporate repressors, and the Ariadnans had no qualms about eroding the industrial advantages of their economic rivals - and so a rapidly convened Kosmoflot force descended into the hab-quarters to meet with their hosts.

The JSA forces had one simple objective - eliminate the local leadership that so effectively resisted their leaders' populist politics. The Ariadnans likewise sought to break the back of the Kuge incursion.

Swinging into action, the JSA forces advanced towards the Ariadnan lines, but were repulsed on the right flank by covering fire from the automated turret and took heavy casualties. Shinobu revealed next to the Bearpode, and managed to wound the beast but was cut down by fire on the approach.

The Haris of Shikami, Neko and Daiyokai pressed deep towards the deployment zone, but their advance was stymied when the Daiyokai was caught by an E/M mine.

At the end of the turn Neko, the Lieutenant, was engaged with a camouflaged SAS confident that he would stay safe for the rest of the round.

In the Kosmoflot turn, Uxia McNeil assassinated the first Kuge delegate from the rooftop above Meanwhile, Neko eventually cut down the SAS after drawing three successive rounds of combat!

The Shikami had infiltrated into the flats above Risky Kebabs, overlooking the Rotok fireteam in the building opposite.

The second turn began with a much-depleted JSA force. The Shikami failed to challenge the Ariadnan fireteams opposite, however the Daiyokai managed to reset himself out of being immobilised, and took down the Zenit sniper and the Volkolak machinegunner.

The Ariadnan motorised bounty hunter advanced round the flanks of the JSA, eliminating the second Kuge delegate. Meanwhile, the bearpode advanced on the Daiyokai, eager for a clash of the titans. Over two rounds of combat, eventually the bearpode prevailed.

What a fun game, despite the disappointing start! Lots of epic hand-to-hand duels between nearly-evenly-matched combatants! The congested streets looked amazingly detailed, but were not easy terrain for the motorcyclists!
