VS ALEPH
Tactical Subroutine MM-3639-Beta

Top of One: Having successfully cracked the fierce defenses of the outer perimete,r it should not be surprising that the elite of the Aleph forces would be hunkered down in the vault. Indeed, upon hearing our approach, the entirety of the direction seemed to prepare for the coming siege. Hector took point watching the closest door while Ajax watched the back. Scylla prepared to take on all three Haqq hackers alone and used the devabots to gain some stand off and better the odds. Content in the position, all guns were shouldered and switched to full auto.

Bottom of One: The troops approached the site definitively worse for wear. Both Dalamyi did not even attempt to infiltrate ahead, as the bulky hazmat gear given to all had failed to keep a sybiomate out. On the first turn 7 of 11 would feel the hardened scales attach, ruining all pretense of camouflage. Undaunted by the concentration of fire at the front, both Mutts moved into aggressive positions and jammed one of the Devabots. With space to maneuver, the core fire team was able to get out of the worst of the Biotechvore as it came in. The Shakush was sent for recon in force to a side entrance. With powerful Spitfire rounds, he cleaved though the outside before bathing the inside in flames. The sentinel was cleared but as Muttawi’ah have never been particularly sensible, one stormed the main door. With all the commotion behind, Hector and Acmon seemed caught off guard and only one round caught the screaming madman who, though mortally wounded, kept coming. The boarding shotgun could not miss in such a tight environment. Two wounds apiece, Hector was barely standing over the charred corpse but suppression was broken and the weakness pressed by the Asawira Haris. A sharp firefight through the door dropped Hector and storming the room Machaon also fell. A lull fell as Ajax eyed the intruder.

Top of Two:
With a roar Ajax smashed straight into the sword of the Asawira forcing it back into its master's helmet killing him instantly. Thrasymedes, looking to redeem a failed infiltration, would pop out and zap the Shakush but was unable to follow up on this success, as a very lucky Panzerfaust found him first. The vault again secure, care was taken to move the bots out of the danger zone. The HMG bot would move to the main entry way and the Probot granted him Marksmanship. Ready as he could be, Ajax readied himself for a heroic last stand.

Bottom of Two:
The war cries emanating from the vault lead to caution as the innermost chamber was now stacked with corpses, some still burning. Seeing what happened to the best of them, few wanted to chance getting in too close again. Care was taken to Isolate then smoke off the HMG support. With the fire teams reorganized, the second Asawira bet his life on a gunfight. The caution proved unwarranted as Ajex dove from the wall only to slip on the blood. Several sharp barks of the AP spitfire ended the last of Steel Phalanx resistance

This was my first narrative campaign and I have to say I have had a ton of fun. I will be out of town the rest of this week so this will have to be my last battle report. I hope between now and then I can learn some editing skills and up my picture or, if very daring, video, game. As ever, more tips to improve these reports are welcome.
