Subject: After Action Report, Munitions Inspection, Cameliard Reliquary
########################################
Commander Cramer, this report details my inspection of the Cameliard Reliquary, in an effort to follow up on the suspicious munitions from my prior report. The ICAF found the possibility that the ammunition being issued to the defenders of Raveneye might have been tampered with to be of grave concern and assigned myself and special detachment Karhu to follow-up one of the less promising leads as the most promising lead was currently wrapped up in diplomatic red tape…
Raveneye Orbital, Ariadna Staging area 0630 hours, day 13 of the Durgama Conflict.
Mission Briefing:
Col. Voronin: “Greetings my friends from Dawn, I have a new assignment for you. Seeing as you’ve just completed your Zero-G Combat school, command has decided that the most efficient way to utilize your new found skills is to send you planet side. Your mission is to escort Lt. Callahan of O-12 on an inspection mission of the Cameliard supply depot. ICAF investigators have confirmed that the ammunition issued to Team Borodin was provided from the the Ammunition Stores on board the Raveneye Orbital, however the Nomad Nation is proving to be extremely evasive about allowing O-12 inspectors on site, stating that the area is too hazardous after the fighting in that zone has made the area unsafe and that they do not have time to divert resources to repair. However, command has also determined that some of the ammunition was transferred to the station from the Cameliard guard post just before the outbreak of fighting. The ICAF has negotiated with Panoceanian command to allow an inspection of their facility by an O-12 officer.”
Wallace: “Colonel, sending our entire detachment planet side as an escort for a single officer on an inspection mission to an ally’s facility seems excessive. Wouldn’t it be more efficient for the able bodied members of Team Borodin to provide the necessary escort to a friendly facility? Raveneye is under extreme threat, detaching all of us seems risky.”
Col. Voronin: “If Cameliard was a friendly facility it would indeed be foolish to send such a heavy escort. However some members of the human sphere are using this time to settle old scores instead of pulling together to combat the threat of the Combined Army. Shortly after fighting began the leader of Yu Jing demanded that all personnel at Cameliard immediately surrender and hand themselves over to the ISS for screening, citing confidential reports that there was a Shasvastii agent present. At the time the Military Orders of Pan-O were in control of Cameliard and they responded predictably to an edict from anyone other than the Pope that they surrender, but especially to an order to submit to the ISS. They told the Yu Jing delegation what it could do with itself and its edict. Since that time the fighting at Cameliard between Yu Jing and Pan-O has been almost as intense as the fighting between us and the Combined Army here aboard Raveneye. Thus the need to assign detachment Karhu to escort Lt. Callahan on her inspection tour. Any further questions? Dismissed.”
Detachment Karhu proceeded to the shuttle bay and embarked on a dropship for the transit to Cameliard. The team were all experienced soldiers and spent the transit either building up their morale with bravado or just catching up on much needed sleep.
We landed on the Cameliard aerodrome and moved out to begin our inspection. The area was eerily quiet. There was neither the fierce fighting nor the honour guard that one would expect from the Military Orders. In fact the only person we could see was a lone Warcor in the distance taking video of our craft landing. Wallace sent Uxia ahead on point and radioed command.
Wallace: “Command, we have arrived at Cameliard Aerodrome. Our expected reception committee is missing. The area feels entirely too quiet, there’s something not right here. Request additional reinforcement.”
Command: “Acknowledged, Mirage-5 is on scramble alert and will deploy to your location on your confirmation of contact.”
Wallace: “Acknowledged command.”
[REDACTED]: “Will, this is not right, we’re walking into a trap.”
Wallace: “Agreed [REDACTED], everyone full alert, advance by cover and movement.”
Using his experience as a commander Wallace took control of the battle field and set up his soldiers to protect what appeared to be a critical piece of hardware for the defense of Cameliard. While there were still no active hostiles and our only contact was the Warcor filming B-Roll on the other end of the Aerodrome's residential area and an Engineering tech tasked with maintaining the Advanced Communications Consoles.
Across the field, all that could be seen was the Warcor and some Unapproved Yu Jing Cardboard Boxes...
Hoping to provoke a response, Wallace released the Irmandinos to proceed up the field. The enemy, perhaps recognizing that they didn’t pose a threat at that range, did not respond.
Wallace: “[REDACTED] their not taking the bait, move your team up the right flank and see what you can see.”
[REDACTED]: “Acknowledged moving out. I’ve got suspicious contacts overlooking Uxia’s position but no target confirmation.”
Wallace: “F*ck, if you can’t spot them, they must be really dug in. Uxia can you see anything?”
Uxia: “Negative commander, just that really creepy Warcor.”
Wallace: “Can you get to the AC2?”
Uxia: “Aye it’s in range, moving out.”
Uxia: “I’ve reached the AC2, applying D-Chaar-AGHHHG” Zzzzzzt. Ba-Koom, Ba-Koom.
Mr. Maillet: “Umm, Mister Wallace, sir, I’m sorry to tell you this but miss McNeill is down, I think there were landmines around the AC2.”
Wallace: “Acknowledged Mr. Maillet. Pvt. Cabrera can you assist [REDACTED] in clearing the right flank.”
Cabrera: “Can do Willy, moving up. I’ve got a target, reconning by fire! Umm I don’t think I hit ‘im.”
Wallace: “Volk, get ‘im.”
Volk: “Grwaf, RWARRRRR!”
Amansova: “He says ‘orders confirmed sir, moving out.‘”
FWOOSH! Blam!
Callahan: “Impact near me, my mine’s placement has been exposed but the mechanism still seems functional.”
Mr. Malliet: “I see Volk, he seems to have deployed smoke to his front and has moved around the building, I no longer have him in sight.”
RWAR!!! FWOOSH! Blam! Blam!
RWAR!!! SMASH!!!!!! Blam! Blam! Whimper.
Amansova: “Volk’s transponder is down, his last communication indicates excitement and success.”
Mr. Maillet: “How did he do that???? He hit that console once and it’s scrap!”
Wallace: “Maillet, what’s his condition?”
Mr. Malliet: “The enemy hit him with everything! There were rockets, flamenspeers, shotguns, you name it! He’s down and not moving…”
[REDACTED]: “Will, I’m pinned down here, that Long Ya on the roof has the range on me.”
Wallace: “Cabrera can you cover [REDACTED]?”
Cabrera: “Moving up to deploy smoke… AGGGGH”
[REDACTED]: “Cabrera down, looks like a Flamenspeer…” [OOC: I don’t remember exactly what happened here, I know I tried to cover the UKR with smoke so he could move forward without getting panzerfausted by the Long Ya and failing, I think it was because the Long Ya flamenspeered the Irmandino and won?]
Wemyss: “I have eyes on the target locking [REDACTED] down, request permission to engage.”
Wallace: “You have permission, nail ‘em lassie.”
Wemyss: “Target 1 down, Target 2 impacted by no penetration.”
Wemyss: "Target 2 moving, attempting to engage."
Fwoosh, BOOOM
Wemyss: "AGGGH--"
Mr. Malliet: "I'm sorry Mr. Wallace, Pvt. Wemyss is gone, so much fire..."
Wallace: "Stay with it Mr. Maillet, we need you to tell the truth about what happened here."
Wallace: "Team stay sharp, we've poked a hornet's nest and they will be out for some pay back."
[REDACTED]: “Will something is moving through the zone at my 9 o’clock, but I cannot identify.”
Mr. Maillet: “I saw it too but I couldn’t tell what it was.”
[REDACTED]: “I got movement ahead, engaging target.” Brddrdrd.Brdrdrddrd.
Domovoi & Domovyk: “Deploying smoke screen.”
[REDACTED: “Intense fire to my twelve o’clock, Yu Jing heavy infantry. I think I got a good hit in. I - Agh -. I’ve taken a hit, falling back into smoke cover to assess.”
Callahan: “I hear something approaching the AC2, my mine has armed itself. I have detonation!” ZZZZTTTT!!!
Wallace: "Command we are in heavy engagement with an unknown number of Yu Jing hostiles, request immediate reinforcement!"
Command: "Copy that, dispatching Mirage-5 via HALO drop."
Wallace: "Mr. Maillet, get a picture of that Beasthunter, we may need it for evidence, if their contract can be traced back to a specific Yu Jing operation..."
Mr. Maillet: "I'll try Mr. Wallace." FLASH "I did it!"
Wallace: “Well done Mr. Maillet! Team I’m moving up to engage the hostile near the AC2.” Brrt, Brrt, Brrt. “Hostile still active, moving closer.” Brrrt, Brrrt, Brrrt. “That took care of him! Center secured.”
Duroc: “This is Sgt. Duroc to Wallace, on site and advancing on the enemy position. I have confirmed remote target, engaging. Enemy remote neutralized.”
Margot: “Lt. Berthier to Wallace. Also on site. Initiating zone scan…” Thwack, wham. “Why won’t this confounded thing turn on??? Uhh negative on zone scan there must be some kind of jamming signal. Moving to identify concealed units, negative identification.”
[REDACTED]: “Moving up to support Mirage-5. Two possible contacts. Attempting recon by fire. Confirmed Daofei and Guilang, negative damage.”
Mr. Maillet: “Mr. Wallace, I have movement up the street, attempting to identify.” Brrrrrt. Brrrrt. Brrrt. Brrrt. “YAIRGH!”
Domovoi: “We can see what got Mr. Maillet, it appears to be another Yu Jing heavy infantry. Attempting to move into cover. Successfully advanced towards cover.!”
Domovyk: “YARRGH!!! Gurgle”
Domovoi: “Enemy still advancing! Advancing toward cov- - blargh…”
[REDACTED]: “Domovoi and Domovyk down”
Wallace: “I have eyes on the enemy heavy infantry, deploying smoke screen.”
[REDACTED]: “Enemy moving on my position, engaging close range combat. Enemy down, losing consciousness.”
Margot: “[REDACTED] is down, but he took his attacker with him.”
Wallace: “Understood all remaining team members get ready we have to hold! FOR DAWN!”
Duroc: “Engaging enemy heavy infantry.” FWOOOSH Yelp! Moarnful howl.
Margot: “Duroc is down, heavy rocket fire, enemy heavy infantry evaded chain rifle fire.” RATTTATTTAT “Hold still you bastard! Lost line of sight to attacker. Reattempting network scan.” Wham!!! “Oh that’s the on switch… Network scan successful.”
Margot: “Re-engaging enemy heavy infantry.” CRUMP. “Negative armor penetration”
Margot: “Re-engaging enemy heavy infantry.” CRUMP. “Negative armor penetration. Just keep dodging buddy, I’ll get the range eventually.”
Margot: “Re-engaging enemy heavy infantry.” CRUMP. “Negative armor penetration”
Margot: “Re-engaging enemy heavy infantry.” CRUMP. “Positive armor penetration, got’cha you dodgy bastard. Enemy heavy infantry neutralized.”
Wallace: “Copy that Mirage-5. Callahan and I are entering overwatch on the AC2”
Wallace: “Enemy closing on AC2, engaging, enemy down, no damage to AC2.”
Callahan: “I have no line of sight to the enemy, mines have detonated. Sorry Wallace, you're on your own.”
Wallace: “Understood. I have movement near the Engineering Tech. Enemy Guilang approaching AC2. Engaging. Enemy down.”
Final Score:
Ariadna: 7 (3 damage to enemy AC2, 3 STR on own AC2, 1 Classified (Net Undermine))

Commander, given how desperate Yu Jing was to destroy the Advanced Communication Console, possibly to cover for their erstwhile allies, the Nomads, there must be information on these terminals that will shed light on the possibility of sabotage of the Aridadnan munitions. Special detachment Karhu is recovering but has sufficient able bodied personnel to continue providing security for our investigation at Cameliard. Sadly Pvt. Domovoi of the Varangian Corps was killed in action and Cpl. McNeill has been transferred to a hospital ship bound for Dawn as her injuries were quite severe. The remaining personnel were ably treated on site and most have returned to active duty. I am requesting the release of a member of the Quantronic Intervention Unit to facilitate investigation of the AC2.

William Wallace to Ariadna High Command:
Subject: Impact Awards for performance in action
Subject: Pvt. Ailsa Wemyss, Cateran
I am requesting a citation for Expert Marksmanship be issued to Pvt. Ailsa Wemyss for her daring and expert shooting during the action on the Cameliard investigation. Her accurate shooting removed a very dangerous threat to [REDACTED] and his team.
Subject: Lt. Leslie Callahan, Raveneye Officer:
I realize it is unusual to request an award for an individual outside the Ariadnan chain of command. However Lt. Callahan’s performance and quick thinking preserved the AC2 from it’s greatest threat. Her expert placement of an E/M mine covering the direct approach to the AC2 and it’s locking down the Beasthunter were essential to preserving the evidence we will need to prove to the Human Sphere that the self-styled “Durgama Defense Coalition” is deliberately undermining the defense of Concilium for their own ends.
Amazing report, this may be the most in-depth and nicely laid out report I’ve seen all campaign! Thank you for the effort that went into making it.
Great report!! I really liked the format!
An excellent report, well done on the victory.
Excellent report and a most delightful choice of music!
