Time is short, with hostilities seemingly winding down on Durgama. With the Raveneye port gun seemingly secure a small deniable black ops unit has been sent to investigate Aleph at the Darpan Xeno-Station and recover any information that might be worth something to the right people. En Route, encountering a strange biotech plague, we were met with a hostile Hassassain Unit that sought to prevent our taking cover in a secure facility.
This was a first for me playing at 150 points, and wow was the size of the table a difference I wasn't expecting.
The Hassassains won the Lieutenant roll and opted for second turn. They deployed first, holding a TAG in reserve. With only 4 inches to deploy I was severely cramped for space, deploying a core link on the left flank, and my bounty hunters and vertigo zond on the left.
I threw the motorized bounty hunter forward into cover near the panic room. I weighed moving my Tsyklon to engage a Ghulam with spitfire, or sending the core link into the room. Ultimately I decided to move to the panic room and get down some pitchers, landing 2 well placed pitchers. My spotlight was repelled by a reset, and I ran out of orders before being able to drop a missile on the Ghulam core. This was a crucial moment, as I overestimated how much I'd accomplish in Turn 1.
The enemy TAG skirted my repeater network, and pushed into my territory to draw a bead on my fireteam members who had remained outside of the panic room - killing the motorized bounty hunter, securitate repeater and interventor. With my quantronic specialist unconscious his fireteam moved forward putting my Securitate paramedic between a rock and a hard place with an Asawira pushing into the panic room, and the Shakush waiting outside.
In loss of Lieutenant, and with most of my units dead I accomplished little. The Vertigo Zond was able to maneuver into a reasonable shot on the Shakush and eliminate it, but the Asawira is able to dodge out of line of fire. I send the Bounty Hunters forward, but with SMGs and Akrlyte Kanons they aren't much of a threat beyond being a nuisance.
The Asawira's Shotgun in the active turn is able to cut through my remaining troops, the Booty Mimetism -6 isn't quite as effective against the templates, and I end the bottom of 2 with a lone Securitate.
