The last victory against the sneaky Haqqislamity granted me another meeting with Colonel Ikari. He was happy with the work, which meant more money for me. I must have appeared as a good counterintelligence agent because he tasked me with another defence, but this time against the Shasvasti. That was a different business than the Haqqislamity. The latter had some manners and not an mouth able to bite you off your entire head. Luckily, the mission budget was also increased. This let me substitute the wounded Wu Ming HMG with a very ugly dude with whom I already worked in the past … Le Muet. Between him, the Brawlers MSV Multisniper and the Rui shi, I felt confident against the Shasvasti tricks.
We arrived at this new research facility first, and I had the time to deploy my troops in good positions. The two MSV snipers, specifically, found excellent elevated locations overlooking long stretches of the facility. This cost us the initiative, but these locations revealed the key to stopping the Shasvasti attack

Running dogs – Turn 1, Shasvasti
We heard them even before seeing them. Strange dog-like sounds mixed with a lethal smell: Taighas. The snipers killed two, but other two were now close to our line. One of them even shaved a wound to the Digger. There was so much mist in the middle of the field that our shooting was reduced, which was not good. After the beasts, the infamous Sheskiin appeared. She ran down an open lane trusting her nanoscreen to just end up dead a few meters from my lines. Thanks again to the snipers, the first wave was stopped.
Smoking my way – Turn 1, Ikari
The first thing to do was to kill the remaining dogs. Like always, the desperados pushed forward, smoking their way to midfield and killing the two remaining beasts. Then, the Karakuri went for the antennas activating two of them. The last few orders were spent to relocate a few troops into a better position.
From the shadows, it’s dead already – Turn 2, Shasvasti
And from nowhere, a Noctifer missile launcher appeared, looking at the Brawler sniper. From nowhere, a splash of alien blood came out from him. Good. Then, the aliens tried with their subtle camos to advance to the antennas. Still, once again, the combined fire of the snipers solved the situation, making them a lovely DA fertilizer. Then, even the total reaction bots tried their luck on the snipers, resulting in debris.
Cleaning the facility – Turn 2, Ikari
The few Shasvasti left had to die. The turn started with a spotlight to accomplice a secondary objective I got from the Colonel. Then, a Desperados pushed forward, but he died doing that … good. The other went straight to casevac him and then moved to touch the enemy console and secure it. The artichoke ‘Le Muet’ made good use of his Multisniper and killed the last TR bot to leave space for the advance of the Rui Shi. The latter started a little hunt toward the remaining few camos that ended up with it leaving the enemy with a single troop on the field, putting the Shasvasti in retreat.

Once again, money spent on Ikari is money well spent. Alien or humans is no different, let them come to the Ikari grinder. This additional victory granted me the position of head of counterintelligence at the Ikari company. Closer and closer to my real aim …

Albedo
Thanks to my opponent for the game! The battlefield really helped me this time making the game a little unbalanced, but my adversary was very friendly about it. I am looking forward to playing with him again!
Awesome bat rap. Thank you for the game!
Thanks to you all! I really enjoyed painting this army. I am glad you like it!
Awesome paint job here! Plus a win for a just cause 😉
Those blue, black, and orangey gold JSA models are absolutely stunning. Nice win!
as great as always! I wonder what is up with the shavastii all over Gekidan however
Easy to follow and concise turn-by-turn. I appreciate that you put some spice on the descriptions rather than using game language exclusively. Some gorgeous models on this table as well 😉 Congratulations on the win, commander.
