Saaaaaaaalutations snow solders. It's me, Warcor Ryan, giving you the up-close-and-personal account of the 7th Armored Cavalry's Svalheima Div. in the Durgama conflict. Today during a scouting mission near the Darpan Xeno-station another Aleph ship, only identifiable by the nose art of one of those sexy ninja ladies, comes out of no where and starts attacking us.
Commander Zarc, a veteran of numerous campaigns, wasted no time and unleashed the greatest power Svalhiema has. THE JOTUM!! More details to come as the battle commences so stay tuned.
Turn 1 started off with Zarc ordering his Jotum to move up and take out the oppressive humanoid bot....thing (Post Human MK4) with it's GIANT Swiss Cheese maker (Multi HMG). After making quick work of that humanoid a Machinist was able to sneak up to the enemy HVT and perform a little Retroengineering for future use *wink wink*. Now with the coast clear 2 nokken used their ability to Cybermask to get in perfect position to surprise the enemy. The first one was able to shotgun blast a fireteam of Devas and Dakinis in a line, knocking a few unconscious while the other one was able to get into the opponents Deployment zone and set up a Mapping for next turn.
Aleph turn one consisted of a bunch of robots looking really confused and worried. I would be too if I had the full weight of Svalhiema's 7th Cav on my butt too. Realizing the Jotum is the CLEAR target, a three man team of a Yadu, Shakti, and Asuras moved up the line to take out the Fusilier missile defensive link protecting the Jotum's behind. Unfortunately for us the fusilier suffered some serious burns from the Yadu's HRL. That same Yadu tried to use a similar tactic to take out the Jotum in cover however it was never able to penetrate the outer armor of the Jotum and had to fall back.
Our counterattack was SWIFT. The Varg security team (K1 Marksman, HRL FO, Agnes) moved up to finish off what the first Nokken started. A few shotgun blasts later and all that remained was one deva and a dikini. Unfortunately one of the Varg had to be taken to the medbay once they recovered his wounded body. He's fine now, just with a new appreciation for nanomachines. As for the Deva, well Agnes said hello with her SMG and that was that for it. The Nokken on the other side was taking it's sweet time to complete it's mapping mission. After a few missteps he was finally able to complete the mission and re-cybermask to safety.
Turn 2 for Aleph was already going to be an uphill battle but now they only had a few units left. Fortunately for us they saw the writing on the wall and elected to make a hasty retreat to fight another day.
Good game!
