Sean

This game was against Sean, playing Bakunin. I was using Ramah Task Force.
Sean was interested in the campaign, but didn’t have time to actually sit down and get into the orders, campaign mechanics, and so on. Still, I wanted to assault Darpan and he wanted to play a scenario with an objective room! Worked out great.

CONTEXT

This game was against Sean, playing Bakunin. I was using Ramah Task Force.
Sean was interested in the campaign, but didn’t have time to actually sit down and get into the orders, campaign mechanics, and so on. Still, I wanted to assault Darpan and he wanted to play a scenario with an objective room! Worked out great.

THE VAULT

Samples of the newly-improved units of the Speical Situations Section are required. The Old Man demands it. The central vault must be secured so that an associated agent of the Hassassin Bahram can hack and evaluate it.

Creating a diversion via release of symbio-engineered prototypes in order to distract. Be aware, NMF will be present. Try to avoid, engage if required.

The scenario. Sean had the smart idea to actually have TWO infinitely tall buildings next to each other. It made for an interesting board!
My deployment. Despite the fact that there was a big infinitely tall zone, I brought a list with lots of long-range options. Why? Well, I want to use as many Mukhtar and Zhayedan as I could! It wasn't super useful with the sniper, because the first thing that happened was he lost a shootout to an enemy Revernd.
She really threw me off! The main thing I learned was that snipers need partners to overwatch in enfilade. A single sniper in ARO is good, but not great.
Top of Turn 1 was the opponent, and the Nomads basically just shot my Zhayedan sniper and then moved forward into the Panic Room. I had to take out some stragglers first; that includeding my Zhayedan blasting away at the Riot Grrl. It was a good start, though I didn't actually kill her. Just hurt her.
The damn Riot Grrls were a pain. They were all stacked up inside the second building, and with 2 wounds they were pretty much unkillable. Even though there was only 1 template, 2 wounds and Dodge+3 was PRETTY nasty.
Bottom of Turn 1 was my highest kill-count in a single model, maybe ever. This proxy for Carmen Johns and Batard absolutely WRECKED face. That includes taking out the Reverend from earlier, some puniks, the Morlock inside the panic room, and more. The chain rifle was good, batard's throwing hammer was better. I'm going to buy the real model for sure.
Pro tip: put stuff in the panic room!

TOP OF 2

Top of Turn 2; there's a lot of walking around, but the BIGGEST swing is of course, the counter-attack on the panic room. The NMF player gets a half-dozen pupniks, morloks, and even Wolfgang Amadeus Wolff in there. Even a good CC missile like Carmen is neutralized.
Horror! Leila and the Zhayedan spent orders climbing on top of the building and during Top of 2, the NMF shred them. Leila survives, barely.

BOTTOM OF 2

Okay, never forget - a beasthunter has mines AND templates. And both of those things are pretty good at killing fireteams. During my Bottom of 2 I really strike back against the cozy Riot Girl core.
I don't want to, but I have to - I commit my Al Fasid unit to close combat. The SMG is not awful, but it's not ideal. I get him inside the panic room, where he clears out several Riot Grrls and the Pupniks as well as Wolfgang.

TOP OF 3

"INCOMING!!!!" Just when I thought I was safe, I realize there are MORE pupniks nearby. They swarm into the room alongside the remannts of the Riot Grrl core and Avicenna, who doctors up several troopers before I take her out. By the end of the top of 3, there's a lot of bodies and my Al Fasid is immobilized and unconscious. Ouch. Now I have to just make a full commit or I lose... I don't need that many points, but I need more than I have.
Bottom of 3 I make a final big push. My Mukhtar, which has been standing in the corner the ENTIRE time, finally gets away from the BTV console and gets in close. He's not perfect, but he's not bad - and he's good enough to doctor up a Naffatun from earlier who clears out the room for a big win!

In his defense – if you upload your report / pictures via mobilephone, the system flips the images. I think its not his fault…

I really like your table =) great sci.fi feeling =)

Nice one, a last minute report that could turn the tides at Darpan! Though next time, you should maybe flip the images. An upside down battlefield is hard to comprehend 😉
