Durgama Takeover

It was just half past six in the evening when the sirens sounded.
Dàoyìng Operative Han Duoh was sitting in the canteen, bored and stirring his rice bowl. This was not how he had imagined his first command until now. Writing reports, training, writing reports again. Boring routine all day.
But now the sirens were calling to arms. This was not a drill.
He jumped up, grabbed his helmet and snatched a shotgun from a puzzled cadet as he ran past.
Everything was in an uproar. Sirens, wandering, confused workers, scientists and other personnel. Gunshots and explosions could be heard to the north-east of the laboratories.
Plotz suddenly cracked his helmet radio. “This is General Lee Hong Fa, Central Command. Operative Duoh we have intruders in the south of our facility.
It appears to be a Combined Army morat commando force.
The attack in the northeast appears to be the diversion. Take command of our forces in the south and stop the enemy, prevent any compromise of our facility and ensure that the enemy does not achieve their strategic objectives. For our people, the Party and the entire Human Sphere! Convivium cupit!”
Han smiled to himself General Hong Fa liked to use the old language of the arch enemy to give his officers a little motivation boost.
Han’s first command, now it was time to win!

Battle Report.
Thanks to Covid and the distance, Maedden and I are playing above the TTs.
For a very long time I play a list without TAGs, normally I always have 2 or more but now I try to play a “normal” list again.
And lo and behold, Infinity is quite a complex game! 🙂
I win the LT. Roll and decide to start and of course I get to build up first. I think his list was quite unorthodox, but I don’t know much about the new monkeys yet.

Deployment YJ
The map is quite open on my side but still offers enough possibilities to deploy my units in a nice spread and field covering way.
Long Ya’s, TR Bot, Flashpulsbot, cover the field quite well.
All my infiltrators are nicely spread out along the centre line.
The monks and my “Uschi”(A German joke at the expense of the Rui Shi) on the left. Monstrucker and “Shàng Jesus” (another joke) on the right with my Daoying.

Deployment Monkeys
Maedden sets up a 5 Vanguard Link on the far left with the MSV2 Sniper.
I hadn’t thought of that at all and my colleague sees half my troop. Great! A pair of Gakis in the middle, plus 2 Harris.
Kornak, Dartok Hacker and a Raktorak and the 2nd Suryat HMG, another Dartok Hacker and a Vanguard I think. And of course what can’t be missing?! The Smart Missle Bot.

Our HVTs are hidden everywhere in the middle.

I don’t want to bore you, so I’ll keep it short.
Round 1 I charge forward and with combined forces my Shang Jesus breaks through into the middle and shoots wildly and kills some of the monkeys. Mainly Gakis, the Sniper and I think a Vanguard.
I lost a Guilang, Shang Jesus a wound and a monk. Good.
I didn’t manage any Classifieds though.
The answer follows on the heels of course and the monkeys set up the sniper again with a paramedic who, however, happily leaves the field with a flaming spear. The slaughter continues and I lose the TR Bot, another Monk, a Long Ya. He is still happily firing repeaters, but luckily some of them miss.
He manages 1 Classified. The whole thing goes on like this and we slaughter the minis off the table in rows. In the Aro he even manages telemetry. We have predator on the table and enough monkeys to get the easy. Only one shotgun blast away from my Liberto. He sets off and fucks up everything, so our monkey friend can snatch it away from me in his turn.
The whole thing is a head-to-head race, with many deaths falling by the wayside.
Even my lieutenant goes on a massacre spree and eventually falls by the wayside. The monkeys’ MVP was simply the Raktorak, who stood on a roof in the middle for ages and simply took all the fire without falling over.
The end of the story was a bunch of dead monkeys who limped off the field victorious.
6:3 for Maedden and Han’s career came to an end.
