VS ALEPH
Shamash

I didn’t expect this one to go the way it did, but Shamash left himself wide open and I simply had to take advantage of it.

We’ve moved on to doing the actual mission scenarios, so we did Highly Classified. I was initially a bit nervous because Atalanta was on the board, and traditionally that swift-footed hunter has been the absolute bane of my existence.

Due to a tactical misstep on Shamash’s part, though, he’d left his entire right flank open. My Ghulam fireteam was able to freely move up the board without suffering any AROs in the process. From there I just carved Shamash up – first killing a Deva, then a Netrod, then getting behind even more of those soulless robot monsters and tearing them apart with HMG fire.

In the process I was able to score several objectives and handily won, having lost only a single Nasmat (which Shamash killed more out of spite than anything else).

I really like Highly Classified. The inclusion of automated sentry turrets is a bit weird but overall a pretty slick scenario.

YouTube link: A fun video I found talking about how hard Ghulam rule, and how every other faction is just jealous of how good they are.

The squad. I brought Khawarij this time but they didn't actually *do* anything? The Ghulam did the heavy lifting (AS THEY ALWAYS DO).
The battlefield, pre-deployment. I'm still getting used to the smaller table size for 150 point games.
The objectives. Neither of us brought anyone with d-charges but the rest were fair game.
My secret objective. I did manage to score it but only after the Ghulam hacker failed the WIP -3 roll like six times straight.
Fun fact: this little Lego contraption was the perfect silhouette size for the automated turrets.
The Ghulam fireteam that won me the game. They moved up around the orange shipping containers and blasted the Netrod, Deva, and the other Netrod in the upper middle.
Another angle.
This friggin' hacker failed six WIP -3 rolls against Shamash's HVT (portrayed by a little spotter bot).
My Doctor's Nasmat did a little Chariots of Fire run through HMG fire to get to the HVT and inoculate it, but did eventually fall apart in a hail of bullets.
Oh geez I forgot the cat tax!

A bit lighter on the narrative than I tend to prefer, but the photos with captions tell a good amount of the story. Solid report, commander. Also, +1 internet points for the cat tax.

Dang it, Warconsole kept tipping my pictures over. I even tried to preemptively tip them the wrong way so when they were tipped over they tipped rightside up but it still didn’t work. Oh well. Just tilt your monitors I guess?
