Operation: WILLEM DAFOE SCREAMING AT THE SKY

Then everything went impossibly wrong for Shamash.
As in previous reports we’re getting familiar with N4, and are just playing each scenario in order in the corebook. This one was Firefight. We thought that each of us having a five-strong fireteam would even things out.
Instead what happened was the Dakini’s heavy machine guns apparently cannot pierce Ghulam body armour, and then Shamash forgot I had flamethrowers, and then it got worse. Shamash started strong with using the Dakini fireteam like a wheat scythe, forcing me back and blasting all my remotes to pieces. But once I got a Naffatun into range the Dakini fell over a bit, then a lot more, then entirely.
In a desperate attempt to take out my specialists the Sophotect rushed my deployment zone. She actually got my hacker and Najjarun after a few volleys, but my Lieutenant promptly stood up and took out the Sophotect in response. The Doctor then user her Nasmat to get the hacker back on his feet.
Shamash tried one last desperate gamble to take out my Lieutenant, spending several orders shooting at my Lieutenant in the distance, but she managed to save everything she failed to dodge.
I had fully expected for the Dakini fireteam to sweep me off the board but uhhh Shamash forgot about the +3 BS they got? So as it turns out for two-thirds of the game he was doing his math wrong.
My deployment. The plan was for the fireteam to move up the left under cover of their flamethrowers, while the armed Kameel would move up the left and freak out Shamash with the Total Reaction and potential hacking attacks.
Shamash put a five-strong Dakini fireteam on the board, and he forgot that this meant they got +3 BS.
My fireteam and his fireteam had themselves a little shooting battle. I was desperately hoping to nail the lead one with a blast missile to wipe out the whole bunch but it wasn't in the cards.
The Dakini move up. They forced my fireteam to fall back and then blasted both Kameels and the Nasmat into scrap. Somehow the Dakini shrugged off my hacking attacks, the jerks.
My Naffatun managed to nail two of the Dakini (Dakinis? Dakinii?) with his heavy flamethrower. This marked the beginning of the end for Shamash.
Anyway the cat left. Shamash pulled the Dakini back into over, forgetting how many heavy flamethrowers I was rocking.
Shamash knew he was in trouble, so he desperately sent his Sophotect on a suicide mission to try to nail my specialists. First she shot my missile launcher Ghulam in the back (because soulless robot monsters do not understand honour.)
Then in a frankly baffling display of good luck Shamash managed to down my hacker (also shot in the back!) and my Najjarun. I started to get slightly nervous because my doctor and lieutenant were standing right there.
Buuuut my lieutenant stood up from prone and managed to blast the Sophotech (the angle looks bad in this picture but we thoroughly checked she had line of sight on her).
The Doctor's trusty Nasmat rushed to the aid of the hacker. I got a laugh out of this picture because it looks like the Nasmat is helping him up while the hacker leans against the wall, like he's hung over or something.
