The first turn was nasty – Penthesilea did her usual berserker tactic and burned rubber to blast my Sekban with her nanopulser. They shrugged it off, except for one, who was my Lieutenant, which made my first turn pretty spicy. Starting in Loss of Lieutenant and losing your fireteam is… tactically unsound, let’s say.
The only good thing that happened on my first turn was my trusty Yuan Yuan showing up. Jade-Blue Afterglow and Goldenboy tore Shamash’s Deva apart, but the Fat Yuan Yuan didn’t do much of note. Then Achilles did his thing and killed all three of them extremely easily – Yuan Yuan are pretty solid in close combat, but they’re not “go toe-to-toe with human freight train Achilles” good at combat.
My second turn went much better. I managed to restore my fireteam and then spent several orders blasting Achilles at point-blank range with the Sekban doctor’s boarding shotgun. I realized at the last minute that Shamash was hoping to get Achilles to dodge into close combat range so I backed way up and managed to kill Achilles with my last order, and at the same time Achilles blasted the whole pile of Sekban with his nanopulser – Shamash saw the writing on the wall, and from Hell’s heart he stabbed at me. He managed to drop two of the five Sekban but the game was handily won once Achilles went down.
