CPM Enterprises, a Corregidor based private military company had active units already based at the Raven Eye Orbital with a contract to provide security to multiple storage areas
aboard the facilities Port section. During the Combined Armies boarding operations it quickly became obvious that these sites where of major strategic interest to the EI as they were fronts for key parts of the stations ortillery systems. The Morat Aggression Forces Task Force Tomalak was tasked with attacking the most heavily defended of these sites, a munitions depot protected by the CPM's only TAG units in theatre.
Seeking to draw the Morat Forces into a long range ambush the CPM forces surrendered the initiative to engage on their choice of ground heavily reinforcing their right flank with forces equipped with looted Flamenspeers and Panzerfausts orginally destined for the Paradiso front. The Left was covered with overgrown jungle vegetation from a poorly maintained
arboreal feature.
Morat Turn 1: The Morat's were as eager to help themselves to the abundance of disposable weapons system available in this munitions depot as its Nomad Defenders. The opening exchange of firepower between the Kaitok Shock Regiment and a Diablo Correctional Fireteam seeking to ambush it from a rooftop saw both sides brutalised by the Thermobaric munitions of each others Flamenspeers. CPM loses three of the Four Diablos, and Task Force Tomalak has one of its Kaitok's and a Yaogat pass into firey glory. With the Nomads central firebase removed the Morats resolve to press their weak left flank. First sending a disposable gaki warbeast which becomes ensnared in a Jaguars adhesive projectile then following through with an attack by Kornak Gazarot whose MK 12 swiftly dispatches the Jaguar but fails to land any hits on a flash pulsing Zond whose return fire sees the warrant officer blinded but still boldly laying down a pattern of suppressive fire. Blasting their way through the stations outer hull a Dropsuit Taryot and a Rasyat Diplomat arrive onto the battlefield to the sound of screeching sirens as the modules atmosphere starts to vent. They swiftly gun down the Transductor Zond and a cowering Alguacil, giving Task Force Tomalak a dominant position in their enemies deployment zone.
Corregidor Turn 1: The last Diablo impetuously rushes forward from his concealed rooftop position to deal with the enemy paratroopers only to be cut down by the continuing Flamenspeer barrage that had already felled his comrades. Regarding their current position to be untenable the Gecko fireteam with their attendant Digger push up the right flank gunning down the Morat forces R-Drone,Pretas,Dartok and Raktorak by catching them unawares with the power of a TAG mounted MK 12. Securing themselves a strong position in the Morat Deployment zone and making sure to execute any enemies who may be playing dead with EXTREME PREDJUDICE along the way the Geckos signal for a Hellcat to commence it insertion from the stations access tunnels to catch an enemy Ikadron unawares. Unfortunately the exotic alien technology of the xeno-constructs armour deflected the volley of fire from the Hellcats Boarding Shotgun. Feeling awfully alone and exposed the humans Alguacil LT starts a volley of suppressive fire in one last ditch attempt to keep back any more Morat diplomacy.
Morat Turn 2:Knowing that victory is sweeter when the battle is hard fought the forces of the Morat Supremacy, rather than being demoralised by their heavy losses pause only to consolidate their command infrastructure with the orders going out across the field to commence looting the humans panoplies for more weapons to turn against the weaklings of the Human Sphere. Promptly the Daturazi Witch Soldier finds himself an Explosive CCW and moments later the Kaitok adds grenades to its growing arsenal. The roar of atmosphere leaving the module grows even louder as another Rasyat uses it D-Charges to break through the hull this time onto the right flank . The Rasyat laughs as the panicked human commanders shots deflect impotently from its armour while it unloads clouds of buckshot into the Alguacil and Lobo completely cementing Task Force Tomalak's control of the Nomad deployment area. Last but by no means least the Ikadron baggage beast turns its light flamethrowers onto the Hellcat incinerating the unfortunate aerial assaulter.
Corregidor Turn 2:Awaiting further orders from their offsite controller the Geckos hold to their defensive position on the right flank.
Morat Turn 3: Flush with victory from gunning down the human lieutenant the Rasyat decides to launch an attack in concert with the Kaitok . A volley of eclipse smoke grenades sees the Digger and Multi Marksman equipped Gecko left blind and defenceless against the advance of the Kaitok whose multiple chain rifles engulf the fireteam in a hail of shrapnel downing the Digger and heavily damaging the TAG's with the attacks only put to an end by the MK12 armed Gecko rugby tackling the Kaitok to prevent further ranged attacks.
Corregidor Turn 3: Seizing temporary command of the unit one of the Gecko pilots requests support from a nearby Tomcat engineer who enters the field and guns down the boarding shotgun armed Rasyat. The two of them then proceed towards a rooftop panoply to rearm and resupply before engaging the rest of the enemy but at that point mission command declares their tactical window has ended and it is time for them to retreat and preserve the companies TAG assets in theatre.
I love the drawing to! I took all the inept pictures and spent way too long on writing the battle report, my opponent banged out a more accurate summation of the important events of the game in 10 minutes on paint 🙂
Really cool !
Hahah I love the drawing at the end. Great report! Hopefully they will pushback the morats next time
