A disturbing find

DeFersen, wanting to reward the valour shown by his lead Teuton in the one sided battle against the Shasvastii yesterday, decided to place the command of this operation in the hands of the young Teuton. Lacking the old templar's patience, he selected a force built for one thing only, Speed and violence.

The mission was simple, They were to meet with the 0-12 forces in the area to discuss the worrying trend of missing computing resources being reported all across the theater. Imagine the shock of the Veteran knight when the leader of the 0-12 team accused HIM of having taken the parts.

It was clear this wasn't going to be resolved without a fight.

The battle takes place in a habitation block near the Camelaird Monestary, a crime scene cordon is in place
The 0-12 are investigating thefts of computing resources in the Camelaird theatre of the war.

The sting is sprung

Defersen and his entourage fall back behind the armoury building just as the 0-12 officers sprung their trap, The Teuton in charge split the remaining forces into 2 groups and sent one to each flank.

Andromeda, who was waiting nearby revealed herself, DeFersen wasn't going to get away that easily.

The remainder of the 0-12 force, having had the Knight's locations reported to them by Andromeda, deployed on the high ground to take advantage of their initative.

The 0-12, having been given secret backdoor communications codes for the PanO network jammed communications, reducing the coordination of the Military Orders as they begun their attempt to break free.

Two Montessa Knights take up position to rush the west flank
A Harris team sets up to hold the right flank, The Santiago, Bulleteer and Knight of Justice hold the line
The hammer of the force deploys in the middle but is ambushed by Andromeda
The Bureau's heavy armour waits ready to counter-attack
The 0-12 forces lay low on the highground, not keen to fight the armoured fist of the Military Orders

I fought the Law - Military Orders Turn 1

The Teuton didn't stop to analyse the battlefield, or take consideration of his duty as a commander to stick around in the fight, He lurched forward, leaving the rest of his team behind him as he hurled himself up a ladder at Andromeda, blasting her twice with his boarding shotgun, Its red hot shrapnel wounding her horribly, her unnatural physiology allowing her to hold on, her ferocious guard beast slammed into the Teuton, sticking him with a Demolition charge, the connection was poor however and as it exploded, the Knight shook it off unharmed. Andromeda didn't have time to respond as the young knight ended her life. Right he thought, lets get them.

The team rushed forwards under his command, he climbed another ladder, this time gaining view of Saladin hiding prone on a rooftop. Coward. The Teuton dispatched him with two Panzerfaust hits, ammo was cheap but lives were not, a trade he would happily make. He remained in an over watching position as he ordered his team to assault the armoury.

The barriers barring entry to the crime scene cut out immediately as DeFersen easily overcome their defenses. DeFersen and two Teutons slid into the armoury, whilst the Lead Teuton and the Black Friar waited back to provide covering fire.

Defersen deftly extracted some grenades from the Armoury whilst the angry Teuton fumbled with the lock and was unable to get it open. The team took up defensive positions guarding the entrances and awaited the inevitable counter attack.

An agressive forward position was taken to expand DeFersen's hacking threat range

And the Law won - 0-12 Turn 1

The counter attack started with the roar of a varangian who advanced along the main road behind the bus, expertly probing the extent of Gabriel's hacking threat range.

The ground shook as the armoured fist of the 0-12 detachment bounded up the street and climbed onto a building, it was so loud, you would have thought that the Teuton guarding the east door would have seen it coming before he was standing in a hail of HRMC rounds pouring into the armoury door. The first barrage bounced off his armour thanks to the protection afforded by the crime scene energy shield, however the second volley cut him down without effort.

The Zeta pivoted to now engage the Black Friar, killing it in a single burst.

The team was starting to collapse, but cooler heads prevailed.

The 0-12 Cyberghost advanced forwards and fired a pitcher to project its influence over the armoury, its placement perfect due to the prior work of the Varangian. Thus began a titanic clash of skill with the last templar. The support provided by his nearby Teuton and its tinbot allowing him to shake off the determined and repeated hacking attack made by the Cyberghost.

The Military Orders take an early lead

Charge of the light brigade - Military Orders Turn 2

The motorbikes rev their engines and begin their advance up the flank, traveling at breakneck speeds and dodging and jumping obstacles, they arrive at the main road that provides access to the Armoury for the 0-12 Forces. They immediately begin engaging the Varangian behind the bus, blowing a hole the size of a fist in his chest, but somehow he didn't fall.

A second varangian heard the bikes coming and dodged around the corner. A Montessa knight callously engulfed him in a blast of shotgun pellets, the chain rifle of the Varangian bouncing harmlessly off of the knights armour. A third set of blasts from their shotguns removed the repeater supressing their friends inside the Armoury

The East fireteam advances, the Bulleteer taking advantage of its shimmering optical disruptive device to score a lucky hit on the Zeta, who missed the incorporeal form of the drone. The team then tried to advance, only this time, the Zeta corrected for the interference. He fired a shot. It missed again. The team moved up, Bulleteer arriving in the doorway. It was too late.

The wounded Varangian blasted it with a load from his chainrifle, killing it as he himself fell to the ground dead.

The Montessa Knights Speed up the West Flank, engaging forces at the 0-12 entry to the Armoury

Judge, Jury and Executioner - 0-12 Turn 2

The Zeta advanced immediately, murdering the unsuspecting Knight of Justice in a vulgar display of power as the rounds eviscerated the knight in a single volley.

The Cyberghost sprung into action again, this time firing a repeater at the same spot. He once again attempted to duel with DeFersen, protected by his comrades tinbot. Enough he thought, He barked into his comms for firesupport and the Zeta scaled a building to draw a bead on the Teuton knight. He fired, a single round breaching his armour and wounding the young knight. His zeal and fury were too much to allow him to retreat however, he instead opted to be turned into a pink mist for the lord, as the Zeta fired again.

With the tinbot down, the Cyberghost springs into action and this time, succesfully targets Defersen.

What follows is clearly a warcrime as the 0-12 forces indiscriminately shelled the residential district, hitting the armoury with three cruise missiles. The brave templar managed to dodge the effects of two, but the third one sent him sprawling unconcious on the ground.

It was lucky he wasn't in command today thought the veteran Santago as he awaited orders from the now impetuous young Teuton.

The Zeta shows no mercy cutting down Pan-Oceania's finest
Nobody comes any closer to securing the area at the end of the second phase of the engagement

Bring it down! - Military Orders Turn 3

The Montessa knights rev their engines and charge towards the wounded Zeta, it fires a giant round at them, which they jink past and land two armour piercing hits from their boarding shotguns on the heavy TAG. The hits collide home and do the remaining damage needed to fell the mighty beast.

The rest of the squad still alive coordinate together to all converge on the armoury and take up defensive positions. At the end of the turn, all but the Young Commander are inside the Armoury, 4 Knights, 4 doors. They would hold them until their last breath.

The giant slayers bring down the Zeta

Concillium Convention, more like suggestion - 0-12 Turn 3

Enough, This was getting out of hand. He was looking forward to a promotion in the coming months and he couldn't be the one responsible for coming back empty handed after this PR disaster and wasting so many agency resources. This needs to end now, before the press gets here.

He hissed through his comms to the Cyberghost to find a new target for the missiles. The indiscriminate volley that followed nearly levelled the building, killing the two montessa knights instantly. The Santiago knight pushed himself against a wall to shelter from the carnage.

With the room supressed, the Cyberghost advances and tries to sneak across the gap between the front of the bus and the north armoury door enterance. He is spotted by the vigilant knight due to his 360 visor who with a smirk dumps a Nanopulser shot into the ghost. Its impressive BTS system flared as it negated the attack. The Cyberghost breaches the room, firing shots at the Santiago, who sensing him about to enter the room had already begun to reach out between their connected neural pathways to strike at the Cyberghosts mind. The attack landed but the impressive biotechnical shield of the Cyberghost kept the knight from ending his life, it did however disrupt his shots on the veteran knight.

The Cyberghost, under incredible pressure to ensure the 0-12 don't leave empty handed, Showed that the forces of the bureau were no strangers to sacrifice. He lunged for the panoply, securing information on the contents of the box for his side. The Santiago knight was stunned by this act of valor and failed entirely to effectively penetrate the Cyberghosts mind.

By now the sound of vehicles arriving and shouts could be heard inn the distance. They had to leave NOW. The Alpha ordered the Millicent bot to take a final two parting shots at the Santiago knight, the first missing widely, the last on target, but moving so slowly it was easily dodged by the veteran.

The barely bloodied 0-12 force retreated back for extraction before they could be identified by the press. They could spin their way out of this later thought the Alpha.

The indiscriminate shelling of the residential district takes its toll

Aftermath

The young Teuton ran into the smouldering armoury to pick up the unconscious form of his mentor, Gabriel. He checked for vitals and found he was alive, but he wasn't in a good state. He barked to the Santiago to save what he could, and help him medivac the fallen templar.

The young knight was furious. They were supposed to be on our side! I'll prove to them it's not us taking the computing resources. He strode over to the fallen Zeta and carved off its head, he would send it to the 0-12 high commissioner in a nice pine box. That'll prove our innocence, they want the CPU's they'll get them.

Back at base, after medical treatment, Gabriel received a gruff call from the 0-12 High Commissioner thanking him for the gift. It was as close as an apology the Templar was going to receive for the false accusations.

"Oh and DeFersen? I trust you understand this can't be linked back to us."

The templar cut the transmission and released a statement to the local press.

The knights secure a heavily damaged zone of operations.
