Durgama Takeover

Bei Tu was a beautiful place in the summer. The bright colors of the trees, the vibrant flowers with a sweet fragrance in the air. While the province was known for the harsh winters, the hardship was what made the different seasons that much more enjoyable. It was home, something Xiu had not been to in some time. Her brow instinctively frowned from the sweat pouring down her face and she snapped out of the brief daydream. This was not home, this was a dirty, bug infested, disease ridden, hot jungle. She had been here for only a week, in what had felt like an eternity.

The Azure Dragons had been under siege for seven days at this point. What had started as a quick relief operation for the light garrison at the Neosteelworks, had turned into a constant battle of attrition. They had first made contact with elements of the Ramah Taskforce, fighting them to a stand still. Then they spent the next few days fortifying and defending against the guerilla tactics of Adriana, fueled by the recent International Concilium Assistance Force. While the actual number of casualties had been relatively quite low, the constant unknown in defending the location had become a nightmare and a drain on the soldiers.

Xiu looked at the intel reports, there was a formed body of Morats coming this way. She had fought them once before on Epico and knew of their many tricks and savagery. They had fixed and destroyed them in a defensive action once months ago with the 2nd Recce Detachment; with the Hundun's rockets being guided by a prepositioned Guilang hacking net. She readied the commanders and brought Daiyu in, front and center to the command table, the 5th Regulars would be responding to this one. Xiu reflected internally, how much longer they would have to hold out here, surely they would be pulled back after this one. The defensive tactics were not conducive to her army's organization and tactics. She had already removed some of her reconnaissance troops to fill gaps in the regulars. There’s no place like home, she told herself, as she brought her steely gaze to the Daoying. “Captain, report”.

T1 Morats - The Sogarat attempts to take out the sensor and TR bot by spliting burst through a saturation zone, but unfortunately is unable to win through multiple rounds, however it doesn't take any damage either. It then moves forward towards the center of the board and downs the TR bot but unfortunately comes into sight of the Beasthunter through another saturation zone. The beasthunter succeeds in hitting it with a panzerfaust and puts it into NWI. The Sagarat retreats behind the building, intimidates a Dragon lady, secures a card and goes into suppression. The haris then moves forward and triggers the Hundun however they are able to stack up behind a wall and the silent hunter misses with the HRL. The big core of Hungries moves into the middle of the board to support the Sagarat.

T1 YJ - The monk moves forward and attempts to chain rifle the line of hungries and Sagarat, who all choose to dodge, which they successfully do. The tiger soldier spitfire now has an opportunity to get in behind the Morat lines and starts picking off units from behind. First it starts by breaking up the core killing the Oznat, then goes after the Sagarat and then back to the core, leaving two hungries alive. The Tiger Soldier then swings behind and takes out the enemy turret and a Tyrok hunter. The drop troop then ends its run going into suppression at the back left of the Morats deployment. The Monstrucker takes a couple kicks at it, but is finally able to repair the TR bot.

T2 Morats - The Suryat moves into the wall and looks to take out the turret on the lightly guarded flank. However the turret has other ideas... first it makes six saves over two rounds of shooting and then proceeds to crit twice and downs the Suryat (needed 4's to hit). The paramedic attempts to revive the fallen Morat Lt and fails. The Daturazi moves towards the Tiger and sacrifices itself to end the parachutists reign of terror.

T2 YJ - At this point there is very little on the board to go after beyond the remnants of the haris and the two hungries in the middle of the board. The Lu Duan moves up and brings both warbands down. The Monstrucker then sends its helper bot into the middle of the board and gets the information from the enemy HVT to secure a card. The Hac Tao then runs into enemy territory, picks up the enemy HVT and hauls it back home for another card.

T3 Morats - The missile bot attempts to take on the Hundun but both fail to connect, however unfortunately the monk is just in range with the chain rifle and drops the bot. The remaining haris members attempt to flash pulse the turret, which they do, then they try to flash the Hundun, which they do not and in return the active piece survives but the splash kills the engineer. A solo morat paramedic moves up to a defensive position but does not have the orders to get any cards.

T3 YJ - The Hac Tao flanks and clears out the paramedic in the middle and then the Daoying runs up to the HVT and scans it for a third card.

(For those who didn’t read my previous battle, last game my opponents free turret crit my Hac Tao on 1’s and killed it. These things are crazy effective.)

Xiu finished reading the report; this one she liked to see. The casualties were minimal and the Morats were completely defeated. She hoped this would be the last time they would have to engage this army, having fought them on two different planets now, but knowing the Morats, she would have a target on her back until the day she died. For the first time in over a week, the sound of combat ceased on the position and even if it was only for a few brief moments, she would take it.
