Backstory: Game 3 with my son, I continue to bribe him successfully with ice cream and park time. After his game 2 loss he wanted to try a “better army”. I figured Pan-O might be a better fit because sitting a shooting is easier to learn. Plus Annihilation is probably a better learning mission than other objectives.
Deployment:
Winter Force established a strong ARO deployment, leaving only the Knight of Justice out of line of sight.
Caledonian Highlanders deployed more cautiously but McMurrough was on the far left ready to repeat the “tactics” of William Wallace…yell loudly and hit them with a big stick.
Turn 1:
With the strong ARO set up of Pan-O, CHA decided Isobel would be the first penguin of the iceberg. She pooked her head out to shoot at the Orc and was immediately gunned down. The NCO Mormear advanced under cover and let loose on the Orc. During his advance he took multiple hits on his armor but it held true. The same could not be said of Orc armor, with two T2 round piercing the armor. As the Mormear fired another burst at the fireteam, they all went prone. Using some trickery (ie NCO rule), upon activation of the Lt order the Ninja came out of hidden deployment to surprise shot my Mormear. His shot went wide but he almost caused the Mormear to miss the WarCor…almost. With the ARO threats minimized McMurrough ran across the battlefield, staying out of LOS of the Ninja. Coming into the enemy deployment zone, McMurrough charged into the Knight of Justice. Blades clashed as the KoJ met the bezerk charge. Unfortunately for him, McMurrough followed up with a critical hit cleaving the KoJ in half. Roaring in victory, he charged up the building only to fall short of the space needed but avoiding the shot from the Ninja who had already changed facing.
Winter Force responded to the Highlanders aggression in kind. The Ninja dodged into McMurrough and immediately met the business end of a claymore. The Fusilier fireteam stood up and fired upon the NCO Mormear who went prone. In a fit of anger the Nokken ran around the to his left flank and caught the Volunteer fireteam exposed unloading with everything he had, killing the 112 and 2 volunteers. The Highlander Grey realizing he was fighting a loosing battle dodged out of the way.
Turn 2:
With the Nokken threatening the Lt and behind the HMG Mormear, along with the Fusilier fireteam pining down the NCO Mormear and waiting on the HMG Mormear, the best course of action was to start with Irregular orders. McMurrough skirted down to get behind the Fusilier fireteam. The Infirmarer turned around in preparation of the incoming charge. Instead the Cateran popped out and started engaging the Fusiliers. Unfortunately after killing the first Fusilier, when trying to engage the paramedic, the Cateran was rendered unconscious by return fire. McMurrough moved up and unloaded with his chain rifle, leaving the remaining two Fusiliers unconscious, unfortunately the Infirmarer was able to put a wound on McMurrough. The Grey moved back and tried to shoot the Nokken to no avail.
Winter Force responded by having their Nokken chase the HMG Mormear up the stairs and with both shots being a direct hit and going through the Mormear’s armor. The Infirmarer tried to shoot McMurrough but couldn’t get through his thick skin.
Turn 3:
With victory in their grasp CHA forces took aggressive actions. McMurrough charged into the Infirmarer who attempted to lock blades, but it was in vain. A highland claymore wielded by such a warrior was too much for the Infirmarer to handle. The Grey moved back from the Nokken into optimal range and exchanged fire with the Nokken until he was finally rendered unconscious. The remaining CHA forces killed all unconscious enemies and gathered their fallen comrades. Determined to hold the rail gun that they had spilt so much blood to defend.

Side note my son enjoyed playing Pan-O more than Yu Jing so switching Foes lol. I will try to make a larger table because the small size is probably making the CHA a little over powered. I can’t believe we’ve played 3 games almost back to back! We still haven’t incorporated all the rules yet lol.
