Durgama Takeover

Tras el enfrentamiento contra los insidiosos Shasvastii, nuestro destacamento se reforzó y permaneció en la zona, intentando proteger el orbital Raveneye de las ofensivas del Ejército Combinado. Pero muchas son las armas de los infieles, y muchas son las máscaras contra las que el Enemigo se presenta para hacer el Mal entre las naciones.

After the battle against the insidious Shasvastii, our detachment received reinforcements and garrisoned the area, so that we could protect the Raveneye orvital from the offensives of the Combined Army. But many are the weapons that the infidels wield against us, and many are the masks that the Enemy uses amongst the nations in his evil doings.

Un comando de soldados ariadnos había recibido información sobre presencia enemiga en la zona que nosotros custodiábamos. En circunstancias normales, el malentendido, seguramente provocado por una infiltración del Ejército Combinado en los obsoletos sistemas de información de los ariadnos, se habría resuelto sin derramamiento de sangre. Pero, en medio de la ofensiva en Durgama, asediados por todas partes por un enemigo invisible y con la paranoia a flor de piel, los ariadnos no quisieron escuchar nuestras explicaciones, y abrieron fuego.

A comando of ariadnan soldiers had received information regarding enemy presence in our area. In normal circumstances, the misunerstanding, which was probably caused by a CA infiltration in the obsolete information systems of the ariadnans, could have been easily solved without bloodshed. But in the midst of the Durgama Takeover, besieged by an invisible enemy and with paranoia running amok, the ariadnans didn´t want to listen to our explanations, and opened fire.

Desafortunadamente para nosotros, tuvimos enfrente a muchos de los mejores soldados de USAriadna aquel día. El famoso Roger Van Zant apareció tras nuestras filas, aunque un disparo afortunado de un sargento de Orden con lanzacohetes consiguió neutralizarlo antes de que pudiera hacer más daño.

Unfortunately for us, we had to face some of the most famous USAriadnan soldiers that day. The famous Roger Van Zant appeared behind our lines, although a precise shot from our Order sergeant with HRL managed to neutralize him before he could cause severe damages.

Sin embargo, mientras eso sucedía, un Foxtrot conseguía activar una consola y transmitir información de vital importancia a sus camaradas.

However, at the same time, a solitary Foxtrot activated one of the antennae, thus transmitting crucial information to his comrades.

La ofensiva subsiguiente fue liderada por el Ranger Desconocido, quien avanzó con sus hombres prácticamente hasta nuestras filas y, tras un intenso tiroteo, consiguió abatir al Hermano Klaus, de la Orden Teutónica.

The subsequent Ariadnan offensive was led by none other than the Unknown Ranger, who advanced with his men towards our lines and, after an intense firefight, managed to kill brother Klaus, of the Teutonic Order.

No contento con ello, se enfrentó también al Hermano Rodrigo, de la Orden de Santiago, a quien también abatió.

He also faced brother Rodrigo, of the Order of Santiago, who was defeated as well.

Nuestros intentos de vengar a los caídos y sacar a los ariadnos de nuestra zona resultaron infructuosos. Primero fue el Hermano Rüdiger quien intentó vengar a su compañero de Orden, pero cayó ante el fuego de tantos enemigos. Después, el Hermano Belletti, de la Orden del Hospital, se enzarzó también en un tiroteo contra los habitantes de Amanecer, con idéntico resultado. Ni siquiera nuestro Trinitario fue capaz de matar a ninguno de ellos.

We tried to avenge the fallen and erase the USARF presence in our area, but we failed. First, it wa brother Rüdiger who tried to avenge his comrade in the Order, but fell against the number of enemies he was facing. Then, brother Belletti of the Order of the Hospital also went into a firefight with the natives of Dawn, but the result was the same. Not even our Trinitary was able to kill them.

Sabiendo que tendrían que atravesar nuestras líneas para cumplir con su misión, intentamos cortar su avance situándonos en posición para hacerles todo el daño posible con nuestro teniente y el hermano Sebastián, de la Orden de Predicadores.

Knowing that they would have to come through our lines to achieve their mission, we set up a trap to inflict maximum damage on them as they moved, a responsibility that was laid upon our lieutenant and brother Sebastian, our Black Friar.

Al principio, parecía que nuestra defensa podría funcionar. Un desperado que intentó atravesarla fue destruido por nuestro sargento de Orden con lanzacohetes…

At first, it seemed as if our line could be held. A Desperado who rushed into our lines was burnt by the HRL of our Order Sergeant…

Pero, cuando un Blackjacj francotirador consiguió abatir tanto a nuestro teniente como al caballero de Justicia en dos sendos disparos, todo atisbo de resistencia terminó por derrumbarse.

But, when a sniper Blackjack managed to strike down both our lieutenant and the Knight of Justice in just two exceptional shots, our resistance was simply broken.

El Hermano Sebastián hizo lo que pudo frente al Ranger Desconocido, pero era una lucha desesperada, pues los ariadnos se habían adueñado del campo de batalla y nada más podíamos hacer.

Brother Sebastian did what he could against the advance of the Unknown Ranger, but it was a desperate fight, for the ariadnans ruled over the battleground and there was nothing else that we could do.

OOC: creo que es la paliza más brutal que me he llevado nunca jugando con Órdenes Militares, que ya es decir. No recuerdo que me hubieran dejado en retirada en el turno 2 nunca. Siendo tropa religiosa, podría haberme mantenido, pero estaba en pérdida de teniente y la victoria de Roco era evidente, así que pa qué. En todo caso, me alegra que haya sido él quien me haya dado esta paliza, pues no solo es un viejo colega del club sino también el que fuera primer warcor de mi ciudad, y uno de los que me enseñó a jugar a Infinity. Por su “culpa” he tenido muchas, muchas horas y días de diversión con este maravilloso juego.

OOC: I think it is the most brutal defeat I have ever suffered with MO, and that´s a lot to say. I don´t remember a battle in which I have been in retreat in my second turn. Being religious troop, I could have stayed, but I was in loss of lieutenant and Roco´s victory was inevitable at that point. In any case, I am happy that he is the one to inflict me this defeat, since he is not only an old friend but the first warcor that my hometown had, and one of the people that taught me how to play Infinity. He is responsible for the many, many hours and days of fun that this great game has given me, so I owe him a lot!
