Durgama Takeover

Delayed in transit Shakti was finally able to enter the Darpan Xenostation theatre. Rumors of a planned Nomad incursion required her immediate attention, particularly a “Zero Cool” level threat. It was time to see if she would die like the rest, by messing with the best as the tagline went. The symbio outbreak and plague had rendered the area a confusing mess for deployment, but sensors indicated a Moran had successfully navigated to set up a trap of repeaters and bombs surrounding the central vault. In the opening gambit the Nomad incursion force pushed up, securing the midfield and surrounding the vault with a Moira, a camouflaged bandit who initially failed his stealthy deployment but gathered himself for later and the shapechanging Zondnautica. Suffering no casualties, it was time to counterattack, and the perfect tool would be the optimate huntress herself. Dart, using her climbing skills navigated around a side angle to flank the Moira, emptying her SMG into her back. Dart’s MSV mitigated the advanced mimetism of the reverend enough to ensure a fatality. Her appetite for the hunt merely just beginning Dart continued to sneak from cover until she found a line to the zondnautica. It’s oversized fuselage provided the perfect target and another Nomad invader met its end. The remaining forces moved up to be sure they’d be out of the reach of the encroaching plague, when Shakti spotted a rare oppertunity. In his haste to ambush and loot the Aleph forces the Bandit had come too close to the deployed crazy koala. She motioned to the heavy rocket launcher armed Yadu in her fireteam, and immediately a streak of fire rained onto the koala. While the stubborn death toy escaped the flames, the scream from nearby revealed that the Bandit had met his end. The team continued pushing up, one of her yadu bravely taking the explosive ministrations of the koala in stride, but nonetheless managed to enter the vault, firmly planting the flag of the OSS.

It was make it or break it time for the Nomad incursion force. The time for plata was over, it was time for el plomo, it was time for the Kriza. Spinning up his machine gun he came out blasting. Taking on the fire team several at a time. Much gunfire rang out but as the smoke cleared little had changed, the heavy armor and dense cover blunted the impact of the fire. He tried to advance again but came into the sights of the Rudras, thinking there was little to worry about the Kriza ducked back when the hyper penetrative impact of K1 munitions nearly cost him his life. Once again the Nomad assault blunted, Shakti ordered the counterattack. Dart once more proved her worth, hunting down and killing the Moran to removing the final barriers to fully claiming the vault. After withstanding the worst of the Kriza’s fire, the Rudras desired revenge, climbing along the sides of nearby buildings, the K1 marksman rifle grew white hot as a hail of bullets knocked out the Kriza.

With time growing short it was the last chance to cause problems, Mary Problems. Dodging incoming fire team like a demon she reached within the firewalled repeater range of the deadly Rudras. Facing off against Shakti herself and support from a rearguard Danavas, Mary did not seem to care. Sending out stream of attack programs and intrusion countermeasures that were black as night, the hacker extraordinaire proved her worth. Shakti grunted in frustration as her hacking device blacked out, fried completely from the radioactive hacking attack. With no one left to oppose her, Mary shut down the deadly Rudras completely, rendering it a husk of metal and wires as she cackled like a madwoman. The way was now cleared for her comrades. With the final gasps of resistance, the Nomads brought back the Kriza with a well placed medikit shot, then they ran full speed towards the vault. Impressive though they were, it was too little too late. Dart’s final act was to ensure the full removal of the Kriza, before being driven off with the massed template fire of the remaining Nomad forces. With little to oppose them the remaining members of her Yadu team moved to control the room ensuring a solid victory. Darpan was ours, and none would take it from them.
