Nomads needed to capture the Starboard Battery of Raveneye to remove any chance of the Corregidor Mothership being under fire again. Of course, the other Motherships couldn't stand idly by as their sister ship was being attacked, and Tunguska have sent their heaviest hitters into the battle. Ariadnan forces that were currently holding the battery were desperate enough to hire anyone who would help them hold on to the seized territory. Even the Druze. Scum of the Human Sphere. It was time to wipe out any resistance their Mercenary band could provide on Raveneye.
Having found a decent spot to ambush the patrolling mercenaries, Tunguska forces were lying in wait. When the unscrupulous sniper Le Muet has tried to reach a perching spot on one of the containers in the area, a Grenzer marksman has popped up from cover in the gantries and took a shot, taking him out.
A Szalamandra TAG has whirred into action, rounding the corner and firing into the area that the mercenaries were hiding in, taking out the Druze with an HMG, and another Hacker Druze. Noticing some movement between the crates on its left, the TAG operator has started moving forward towards it.
Suddenly, a Hunzakut has stepped out from the shadows, and dropped a repeater at his feet. Szalamandra deftly opened fire with its Heavy Flamethrower, incinerating the merc. Not knowing what could be waiting for it on the other side of the repeater net, the TAG pilot asked for an assistance from a nearby Heckler.
Stepping out of the shadows under the Grenzers' watch, the Heckler took shots at the repeater, disabling it.
With the immediate threats removed, Szalamandra has backed away from the dangerous position, and in its stead, the Transductor Zonds were urged forward, creating a protective quantronic net around the Nomad zone.
Druze forces, sent into disarray by the sudden appearance of the Tunguskan strike force tried to make the best of the situation.
A hacker hiding out on the right flank moved forward, launching portable repeaters out of her pitcher. One of the shots went wide, however the other one planted near enough to the right Transductor Zond to get it into it's area of effect. Spotlight command was ran against the Zond, and soon after an unsuccessful attack, guided missiles started raining from above to try and hit the Nomad remote. It had valiantly tried to dodge multiple incoming missiles, but was eventually disabled.
Another Druze remote has advanced on the left flank, and then the mercenaries laid low.
Sensing an opportune time, Perseus has vaulted over the cover he was waiting in, and made his way across the left flank of the battlefield, reaching the Druze area. Sensing something nearby, the Druze hacker launched another Spotlight command at the target when he got close enough. Despite being lit up like a Christmas Tree on the visors of the surrounding Druze, Perseus took out the Kameel remote hiding behind the corner with fire from his Heavy Pistols, and then switched to his Breaker Combi to down another Druze that was peeking out from behind the crate. The rogue Myrmidon then continued his advance, taking out another mercenary near the building. He then took cover near the steps and waited for the Druze response.
Meanwhile, on the right flank, the Heckler has advanced forward and launched his Fast Panda repeater towards the building that the Druze Hacker was hiding behind. Once the Fast Panda was in place, his partner in crime launched surprise attack with a Trinity program against the mercenary hacker. She fell over, synapses fried.
At this point, the Druze force was thoroughly demoralized, and they retreated from the battlefield, but not before taking down Perseus on the left flank, and the Heckler that launched the Fast Panda on the right flank. With the Druze forces retreating, Clockmaker moved forward uncontested and fixed up the Transductor Zond that was damaged by the missiles earlier.
Good job and report.
