Durgama Takeover

I was a little startled to wake up today to a bunch of Discord pings from thepoorman telling me that a new Infinity campaign had started, and it was short, so we needed to be on that right away! Fortunately, Aleph needs little prep, and I could be out the door with an army that could fit in my pocket if I was crazy enough to put my toy soldiers in my pockets.

Unfortunately, I was reminded that there were some downsides to this sort of egg-basket ratio, but it was still super fun getting back into the game and shaking the dust off.

For a bit we tried to do the official proper mission. After a few tries and failures at drawing objective cards that either of us could do, we figured we'd just do Annihilation to make sure we knew the rules - a couple of years of limited in-person play plus a new edition meant there was a lot of cruft to shake off.

With his impulse control gone, Achilles moved up, Spitfire blazing to not that much effect, as thepoorman's saves were absolutely on fire tonight; their hacker quickly Isolated him. Across the map, the Deva hacker wandered forward, looking for trouble. Trouble quickly found her.

Their squad moved up and got Nanopulsed quite thoroughly, leaving a hacker alive. That hacker Carbonited Achilles after a few tries, and the rest of the game was him futilely trying to kill the immobile Achilles point-black with a shotgun. But Achilles was still alive, and he was fully half my points on the board just by himself. A draw!
