War effort

Pleased with the result of our investigation at Gekidan's, the Jade Dragon graciously allowed my division to resume its standard activitites in the peninsula, namely following High-Command order: Yu-jing should take Cameliard at all cost, and secure the relics sought for by the Evolved Intelligence.

While the Imperial Service forces are usually not adequately equipped for open warfare, our agents are not to be underestimated and with enough cunning and ferocity all is possible.

We reached the guard post at dawn and it took less than a minute for an alarm to be triggered and a panoceanian detachement to be dispatched to intercept us. Not really a surprise, given current activities at the guard post they had to be on high alert.

What was surprising, however, was the panoceanian detachement. The winter force was here, on Durgama? What could speciliazed snow fighters possibly do in the jungle?

A bit bemused, but no less cautious, we took our position.

One of Cameliard many guards post. It shall be ours!

Jīnshān Task Force’s Imperial Service Division

We established a fairly defensive position, waiting for the winter force to make its move first before launching a counter-attack and seize the room. A rui-shi on the left flank, wu-mings at floor level in the middle, and some kuang-shis to cover our right flank.
Myself and Lilling were joined on the rooftops by a bounty hunter and our sophotect ally.

235th Blizzard Company "Portin Vartijat"

Panoceania had aligned security expert for this mission, in the form of a vargars and ORC troops fireteam, deployed on their left flank along with Liang Kai, that treacherous monk! A Knight was deployed on the left with a few fusilliers and a beast hunter. A short interception of their communication allowed us to determine that the knight was called "Hawkins".

Panoceania is ready to repel the intruders!

The vargars and ORC troops are the first to move forward.
Using its jump pack, a Vargar equipped with an heavy rocket launcher takes to the roof, and threaten my team! The bounty hunter is burnt to a crisp, while I take a wound and retreat further away. But the vargar and his bloody albedo technology doesn't intend to let me breathe, and pursue his assault. Somehow, I survive, but the sophotect has been hit by a stray rocket and reduced to ashes.
One of the orcs engage our chayi, but our trusty little remote manage to daze the attacker, and stops him in his track!
Seeing an opportunity, Liang Kai lunged forward and flank our celestial guard handler and one of his kuang shi. While Liang Kai succeeds in his attack, he gets a bit too close to the kuang-shi and dies in the explosion. Another traitor dead!

The Empire strikes back!

In a daring move, the panoceanian commander has exposed its most valuable assets. While I am confident in our abilty to handle them, the vargars's albedo might be troublesome. First thing first, I engage the ORC feuerbach, wound him and forces him to hide.
A nameless one manages to take down 2 vargars, but get dazed by a fugazi in the process!
With our wu-ming incapacipated, I am the only one with enough firepower to take down the troublesome vargar on the roof. Counting on my reflexes, I move into the open and, without being able to see anything but the rockets coming at me, manages to take hiw down.

Panoceanian doesn't let go, and pursue its offensive!

The beast hunter run at me and tries to burn me with his flamer while I shoot at him, but while my armor proves to be too tough for his napalm, the flames still hinder my accuracy and I miss completely.
Hawkins and his fusilliers move forward, help one of the vargar back on its feet and secure the room. He takes down our wu-ming heavy rocket launcher, avenging the orc lieutenant who died a fiery death attempting the same.

The Emperor's servants have not said their last words!

All remaining Panoceanian forces are standing between us and the guard post. However, some blind luck by the knight named hawkins incapacitate me before I can mow them down! Wait, is there anyone left to carry on the mission if I'm down?
Preparing for a final assault on the guard post, what remains of the nameless team moves forward, and takes down the ORC feuerbach.

Epilogue: Panoceania holds the line!

Panoceania is well entranched, and awaiting the last assault of the Emperor's finest... or what's left of them, after Hawkins took down the zhaying hacker.
The last wu-ming, #656, attempts a suicide attack to reclaim his name, or die trying. However, it proves utterly ineffective...
... but still provides a useful diversion. Lillin use the opportunity to cybermask herself and tries to sneak past the panoceanian straight into the armory! Sadly, a fugazi on overwatch stopped her right before she got inside the room

A bitter defeat for the Empire.

With too few troops left, we had no choice but to retreat. What a shameful display! Going back like this to the encampement was not an option. We needed a victory, and to wash our dishonor with the blood of the panoceanian!

I set-up a rally point for my troops in disarray, and asked for reinforcement to meet us there. Searching through our intel reports, I quickly found a worthy target no too far off: an artillery command site, lost in the jungle.
