Durgama Takeover

When Mother enrolled me at the military academy, in hopes of helping my future political career, I pictured my stay mainly comprising of moving different shapes on a holomap while looking thoughtful, and enjoying dinners with the old guard as they regailled us with the glories of battles long past.

In reality Mother’s status (and certain “privately funded positive errors” that were added to my record) had fast tracked me to my own command and to my first mission.

Defend Cameliard

Simple enough- it’s just two words after all.

The men were in good spirits as we deployed- I opted to focus all my forces in one channel of attack- this may seem to the untrained eye as a tactical error, but it was all part of my larger strategy- keep the enemy guessing, they would expect us to make a good decision, so naturally we must subvert their expectations!

Push on! I ordered. There can be no uncertainty in the theatre of war, to that end I tuned out the many voices of opposition.

The initial push was promising- I must commend the efforts of my Knight of the Holy Sepulchre and Santiago- who lead the way in pushing out towards the enemys line.

Sadly however, the other men had a bad habit of being shot.

This was not helped by the fact that those Immortal Army fellows had not really catered to the fact this was my first assignment. With great precision my men were hacked, slashed, mined, and as mentioned – shot.

I must commend their commander for a top notch job, but bad sportsmanship to their high command for not sending out someone more junior.

All in all, I expected the enemy to be highly skilled, but I’m sure they expected the same of me.

That’s a win in my book
