Yu Jing
Ruyi
VS Combined Army
Raiden1983

The onslaught by the Combined Army was brutal and without warning. In a moment, the resting defenders of Yu Jing were set upon by horrors from beyond the stars. And yet, the great State Empire is not made of lesser stock. United, as defenders of Humanity, they rise to face this threat.

Deployment

CA won the roll off and chose to go first.
Yu Jing held back and chose to counter deploy.

The Combined Army was suspiciously light, only a handful of models filling the field. The Yu Jing commander's stomach tightened as an atmosphere of dread began to fill the air. Ordering his forces to spread out with both Long Yas taking overwatch positions and deploying forward mines, the Shaolin Harris set up on the right flank as a WarCor prepared to film the defense of humanity. Then.... It came. Striding forward with a confidence and an arrogance, the Avatar of the EL revealed itself to mankind this dread and terrible night. Putting his life before his men, the Daofei took up a position in hiding in the center of the field.

Combined Army Turn 1

A great bellow was given from the Avatar and the responding screeches of its minions answered. A Gaki sprung forward and was caught on camera by the Warcor, but no lasting effect seemed to touch the alien. A Taigha chittered to itself as it clambered forward nimbly dodging out of the way of a mine and the horrified Warcor's camera. Rushing forward with alarming speed unleashed a chain colt on the Chaiyi and Shaolin guarding the AC2. The Chaiyi was damaged by the attack with the Shaolin managing to shrug off the alien danger, replying with his own chain colt, downing the alien creature. Eyeing the suspiciously tall cone of camouflage, the Gaki attempted to understand if what it was looking at was a threat. On a 17, it definitely wasn't edible and the creature drooped in disappointment while the Yu Jing commander breathed a sigh of relief. Without warning, the Avatar sprang into a blur of motion. Moving up the field it downed the Warcor with not so much as an afterthought. Continuing its advance up the field, a quick attempt was given to discover one of the looming Long Ya, but the engineers of the State Empire succeeded in creating a stealth field capable of tricking an Avatar of the EI. Stepping forward, the Avatar unleashed targeted barrages upon his enemies, firing in a nearly entire arc as it calmly moved forward. A Critical hit soared out from one of the Long Ya, while the other was torn apart by the heavy ammunition of the Avatar. Liang Kai took a heavy round to the shoulder in return for his efforts of firing off his chain colt. In the mayhem, the Daofei hacker revealed himself attempting to lock down the Avatar and was able to get a successful shut down into the alien systems. With its prey revealed, the Gaki pounced on the noble Daofei, leaping in a frothing fury upon the soldier and sinking its bladed arms deep into the LT's torso. Through the pain, the Daofei struck a precise blow with his Shock weapon, cutting out the acidic sac of the creature before it could explode in death throes. Focused on completing its supreme mission, the Avatar purged the human lock codes from its system, and unleashed the dreaded Sepsitor on the Long Ya and Liang Kai. Kai dodged the strike but the Long ya's systems were corrupted and destroyed by the attack. Confidant in only facing Liang Kai, the Avatar moved forward to carve a deadly wound in the AC2 console and dealt a deadly wound to it with it failing both its saves. With the last and final order of the turn, the Avatar dealt a third blow to the Yu Jing console and accomplished the primary mission of the EI.

Yu Jing Turn 1

In mere moments, the CA had already completed their primary objective. The Yu Jing team was shattered, exposed, and far far behind on objectives. Knowing that should the Avatar fall, the fight would crumble instantly, the Yu Jing commander issued a series of very specific commands to his team. First, he moved forward cautiously and opened fire on the Ikadron guarding the enemy AC2. In a precise burst, he caught the alien unaware as it attempted to stun his optical sensors. The Beasthunter cautiously moved forward, looting the supply cache for any gear that may prove valuable down the line. Moving forward he broke into a sprint, firing at the Taigha lurking in the corner, he missed as it scrambled into the debris.... and right into the firing line of the perched Daofei. Opening fire with his MULTI rifle, the Daofei scored a hit and downed the alien creature. Seeing a precious few moments slip away, the Yu Jing commander devoted what precious time he had left to the Beasthunter springing forward to strike a blow on the AC2 and landing two hits on the target. Making a very impulsive and tactical decision, the Daofei targeted a nearby Imetron and chose to go into prone to end the Yu Jing turn

Combined Army Turn 2

With his objectives accomplished and the enemy quickly advancing the Avatar fired off another blast from the Sepsitor Plus to try and force off the crouching monk trio but was met with the grace of humanity as they dodged the template. Now with monks nearing a close threat level, the Avatar swung into the nearest one and utter vivisected Liang Kai but was brought low by a humble Shaolin in response.

Yu Jing Turn 2

With the Avatar downed it only took a few swings of the Beasthunter's axe to bring down the AC2. The Daofei moved forward to undermine the Combined Army's alien net and accomplished a classified before we called the game.

Standing tall for Humanity's Future!

Really cool game from my opponent! I did NOT expect for an Avatar to show up in our 150 point game and without my lucky Long Ya hit I think it would have run over me. Really really scary game but fun all around, this campaign has had me play lots of missions and matchups I don't think I would have otherwise. Happy Gaming!

A much needed win for the StateEmpire.

  • Hairywookie says:

Good report commander. From the way its written the Avatar seemed to be letting off Sepsitor blasts against Liang Kai and the Monks. Don’t forget those boys don’t have Cubes so a Sepsitor isn’t going to affect them. Not sure if this has any bearing on your game but it’s definitely worth remembering in our struggle against the EI.

Small game, but seemed very exciting! All or nothing on that Avatar from your opponent.
