VS ALEPH
Phi

Cameliard had been secured and a secure Yu Jing forward base established. With our troops securing the location, we turned our focus to the search for the relics our great rival hid so zealously. In our search, we came upon a remote location that had an unexpected ALEPH presence. Was the great so-called “Hyperpower” hiding something much deeper? Or was ALEPH here to secure an asset in their ongoing research at Darpan? No matter, the State Empire will not be stopped, no matter the schemes before us.

**Deployment**
ALEPH wins the roll
ALEPH chooses to go first
Yu Jing deploys second.

**ALEPH:** Deployed their Dakini team with a good sniper coverage over most of the map in a central position to their deployment. Both Yadu and Arjuna operatives were deployed on the right flank in order to move up and contest the midfield.

**Yu Jing:** The monk harris was ordered to take the central ravine up the field in an attempt to smoke their way towards the reliquary. The armored 3 man core was deployed on the left flank along with a Beasthunter who prepared to clear a path for them. Ahead, the Daofei LT waited for the perfect opportunity to strike. On the right flank, a second Daofei had deployed forward, attempting to threaten the Dakini sniper link, but was counter-deployed by the sudden arrival of Andromeda. The central AC2 was secured by a WarCor, a Shaolin, and a flash pulse bot with a Long Ya sitting right on top of it.

Turn 1:
**ALEPH:** The Dakini sniper attempted to target and destroy the lurking Long Ya, but was unable to find a proper target and failed the discover check. As a backup, the forward Proxy mk.5 moved forward through the central building to challenge the Monk Harris. Smoke was thrown before the Proxy could mark a monk for future assault and the Proxy’s forward line of sight to the harris was cut off. Realizing the Yu Jing smoke had been placed slightly forward, the Proxy mk.5 crept forward to attempt a close ranged discover on the Long Ya. A successful discovery was followed up by a burst of sub machine gun fire, lighting the Long Ya up. The engineers of the State Empire are not to be taken lightly however, and the armor on the ambush unit managed to hold against all odds. With the Long Ya revealed, the Dakini activated and quickly eliminated the Long Ya, who planted a mine in its last moments of operation for the Empire. Suddenly facing a ticking time bomb, the forward Proxy mk.5 attempted a desperate dodge to move back from the blast radius and was shredded by the shock mine for his efforts. Moving to complete her objective, Andromeda ordered her trusty companion to take down the Chaiyi staring her down, but was critical by the flash pulse and was stunned! Realizing only now his mistake, the ALEPH commander ordered his Dakini sniper to reposition to engage the Chaiyi but managed to whiff all his shots in the process. Through a combination of cautious movement and prone crawling, the Yadu Hacker moved to a position in which she could threaten the camo token, or the advancing armored Yu Jing three man Core.

**Yu Jing:** Seeing a forward exposed Yadu, the Beasthunter lunged forward from its hiding place but was discovered by the LAMEDH carefully watching the flank. Now revealed, the Beasthunter utilized it’s Super-Jump to leap forward and assault the hacker lying in wait. The warrior was stunned and nearly targeted for his efforts, but managed to take down the hacker in a display of martial prowess. With the hacker removed, the Shang Ji was able to forge forward and lead the way to a brighter future. The Future was bright because in his passion for advancing the human race the Shang Ji missed that a Posthuman with a HRL was staring right at him and ate a blinding reminder to watch his angles to his face. Humbled, and down a wound, the Shang Ji returned his newfound enlightenment to his teacher and saw the Posthuman deleted in a blaze of glory that, admittedly, took more orders than I should have spent on it but hey. When life gives you lemons right? Back to the mission. With the last order in group 2 Le Gong accomplished a Classified Objective to undermine the data-net ALEPH was using in the area. In Group 1 the Daofei armored with a spitfire turned around to unleash his burst on the ALEPH infiltrator behind him. While her guard assistant was able to keep the Daofei from landing most of his hits, a stray round grazed the operative, forcing her to push herself to stay going. Stalled by her continued presence, the commanding officer ordered Liang Kai and his monks to move up the central canyon, smoking off the Reliquary on approach. After several seconds of loud smacking sounds and the smoke clearing, the monks had been able to put two wounds on the Reliquary, but being unable to land the final blow, drew back to hide from retaliation.

**End of Turn 1**
ALEPH: Downed Long ya and a Chaiyi, set up an aggressive control of the board
Yu Jing: Inflicted 2 hits on the AC2, downed a forward hacking Yadu and Posthuman

Turn 2
**ALEPH:** The Dakini fire team cautiously repositioned to allow their HMG to open fire on the Shang Ji who had downed the postman earlier. With a blaze of gunfire, the HMG was able to score a hit on the Shang Ji who managed to shrug off the blow thanks to his well designed armor and interference from the shaolin who threw a smoke grenade to disrupt the dakini. As the last remaining postman, the Mk.1 moved to gizmo kit the HRL, and enabled him to regain a wound and accomplished a test-run of a new field tactic. . Andromana and the exposed Daofei had a battle of swords, from a distance away, and after landing one or two glancing blows on each other, the Daofei had suffered a wound but wasted precious time. Changing her tactic, the infiltrator leveled her shotgun at the Daofei who activated his high powered servos to dash around the corner and into safety. Now free to accomplish her primary objective, Andromeda moved forward to plant a D-Charge, scoring two wounds on the AC2 before being stunned by a Chaiyi and engaged by a dodging monk. The Dakini team moved to re-set up a line of sight on the enemy AC2 to cover their infiltrator and the turn ended.

**Yu Jing:** In an act of impetuous momentum, the Shaolin guarding the AC2 attempted to bring down the infiltrator, and managed to land a fatal blow despite her elite training and prowess. The second Shaolin in reserve threw smoke forward, allowing the Shang Ji room to breathe from the revived HRL staring him down. Stepping out of the smoke, the Shang Ji unleashed a new volley toward the mk.5, reducing the newly reforged trooper to smoldering ash. Springing from his fire team member’s victory, Le Gong opened fire with his SMG downfield onto the ARJUNA holding itself in reserve. Over eager from the recent gunfire, Le Gong misjudged the distance and missed his shots. Hoping to remind Le Gong why the Shang Ji are the future, the gunner moved forward again to unleash a volley and downed the target Le Gong had just over eagerly missed. With the HRL downed and smoke covering the Reliquary once again, the monks set to work trying their best to beat an advanced machine into submission with a couple of cool sticks.

**End of Turn 2**
ALEPH: Put down two hits on the AC2, got troopers back up
Yu Jing: Was able to down both ALEPH operatives with D-Charges and smack the Reliquary into tiny pieces to reveal what was within.

We decided to call the game at this point, as there wasn’t a way for my opponent to damage my AC2 any more. It was his first time playing the mission and he had missed that you can’t use DA ammo from ranged attacks to damage the objective. All in all there were several close moments and a very fun game all around! (Still figuring out how to format battle reports. Can’t figure out how to bold text to put photo descriptors but it’s fun to grow!)
