Direct Orders from High Command. Secure strategic locations in Cameliard in order to enable the main body to advance and secure the relics held under contentious authority. An armory located outside the primary combat zone was designated as the target for this forward Yu Jing team. Upon arrival to the site, a contesting force from O-12 was found to be already making their way into the target. Hostiles had not been excepted, and the team would need to adapt quickly.

Initiative: Won by Yu Jing
Turn Order: Yu Jing will go second
Deployment: Yu Jing deploys first.

Deployment was set up to minimize any early attempts of aggression from the O-12 force. As the Yu Jing task force was sent as a rapid deployment force, meant to secure an outlying objective, they lacked serious firepower outside of the team’s Blue Wolf. A proper spread was laid out with a formidable defense network hidden in camo, waiting to exploit an opening in O-12’s trespass.

O-12 deployed cautiously, with a core fire team of Kappas and Raveneye Officers settling within an armored transport they had arrived in. A harris of an Epislon, Betatrooper, and Psi-Cop took up a vantage point nearby the armory while a duo of Varangians prepared to push inwards to the objective.

Turn 1:
O-12: The Epsilon took a pot shot at a Celestial Guard who had not been expecting to be caught out in the open and was downed in the opening volley. Under the distracting cover fire, the Raptor responded to his LT’s orders to press forward and secure the Armory. In doing so he looted a comparable armor plate system to boost his own defenses, before setting up in a cybermasked state along with his side bot, waiting for the inevitable Yu Jing response. This was done under the view of Kit Kokram, who fired off a warning shot with his E/Mitter to no effect. The Varangian Duo moved up under smoke cover and established themselves in a nest of buildings outside the armory.

Yu Jing: The Blue Wolf pilot sprung to life, seeing the Varangian team had failed to account for the light TAG’s mobility, and took down the duo with uncontested volleys from their rear arcs. This freed Kokram to carefully approach the armory, and place an E/M mine just in the doorway of the armory, ominously watching over the cybermasked Raptor. A Libertos moved up and revealed itself, placing yet another mine on the opposite doorway to stare down the raptor’s bot. A brave Shaolin monk moved forward into the armory in a motion fluid and at ease, and threatened to discover the raptor who now was masquerading as Jeff from Accounting. The Shaolin was on the verge of discovering the lie as a sudden burst of flame and led was thrown his way from the O-12 specialist. The Shaolin dodged both with a surprising grace to get right up in the face of the Raptor, while the Raptor was hit to full effect by the E/M mine. This was the moment for a beast hunter, still cloaked in camo, to move up and decapitate the raptor with one fell swoop. Things were not going so well for the Blue Wolf who had accidentally strayed within the radius of the Cyberghost’s cyber warfare range. An attempt at possession succeeded as the Blue Wolf failed his attempt to contest the roll with a hail of led. Kokram, now forward and exposed, retreated while firing a desperate E/M shot to lock down the Blue Wolf. With the TAG possessed, Isolated, and Immobilized, Kokram moved into the armory where he found an advanced Mim-6 module for his armor.

End of Round 1: Yu Jing scores 2 points, Raptor is dead, Blue Wolf is Possessed, Isolated, Imm-B

Turn 2:
O-12: The Cyberghost sprung to action, emboldened by the successful possession of the Blue Wolf, and fired a pitcher next to the armory. However, the O-12 trooper has spent more time in the coding room than the firing range and missed his pitcher attempt and was forced to fire a second time. Upon finally getting a pitcher down, an attempt was made to lock down Kokram, who managed to keep his cyberattacker at bay with skillful resets. The Cyberghost switched approach, and accomplished a Classified Objective. A Crusher attempted to drop down in a safe spot outside the armory, but had not adjusted for the level of cyberspace disruption the advancing Yu Jing force had laid down over the area and was forced to land farther away than planned. In his advance he managed to take down the Shaolin within the armory and a Libertos but was forced into cover by the end of the turn.

Yu Jing: Spending a command token to return the TAG to their control, the Yu Jing team focused on eliminating the revealed Crusher. A Guilang sprang from hiding and landed a hit with his Boarding Shotgun but was unable to take down the crusher. The Beasthunter kept froward from the armory, burning away the pitcher and threatening the crusher in a heroic move that ended with her ablaze and the crusher still standing. Kokram moved forward from his position in the Armory to finally down the O-12 Combat Jumper before moving back within the armory and awaiting further aggression. The Guilang moved from his position to lay more mines around the armory and re-enter camo while a Chaiyi moved up to disrupt any last ditch efforts.

Round 2: Yu Jing scores two points, Crusher is dead, Beasthunter, Shaolin, and Libertos are dead.

O-12: Worried about the Hero of the State Empire remaining uncontested in the armory, the Harris moved out to advance on the structure. The Betatrooper was the first to move in, taking a wound from the mines laid by the Guilang but failing to land a hit on the dodging Kokram. A second attempt was made with the SMG, scoring a wound on the heroic Zuyong. The Betatrooper dashed into the armory to make room for the Psi-Cop to empty her Heavy Pistol into Kokram, scoring a wound at the expense of the Betatrooper going down. The Core team advanced from their armored transport to set up a controlling angle externally to the armory but were unable to enter. With the final order, the O-12 Epislon moved into the armory and attempted to Nanopulse Krit, who passed his save and downed the sniper with a load of shotgun lead.

Yu-Jing: With the armory secured at this point, a Tiger Soldier was called in to complete a classified objective for the ongoing campaign. With the Guilang emerging from hiding and Digger pushing into the armory, the site was quickly secured and raided for supplies moving forward.

Round 3: Yu Jing scores 5 points, Psi-Cop is downed, Tiger soldier is landed.

All in all this was a really fun game! I have only run a TAG once before so getting it possessed was really scary, but my opponent really gave me a run for my money. Kokram is now a pet favorite trooper, and my self proclaimed Hero of the State Empire after his amazing work done today. This is my first time attempting a battle report so please let me know how I can improve!
