Durgama Takeover

This game is a bit embarrassing. Despite reading and re-reading the mission, and planning my first turn to escape the biotechvore, and separating out my combat groups to give me the most orders to cross the most ground…I left the majority of my force within the zone and killed them.

I was given first turn as my opponent wanted bottom of turn. My deployment was grouped in two areas: a small triad on my left with Kealtar, Makual and Taagma (as Holomasking as Taquel), and the rest on my right. My opponent was spread evenly across from me at ground level. He did not deploy in ideal overwatch positions as I feared.
My first turn mas purely tossing Eclipse and slowly advancing. My lack of experience with Tohaa and some poor grenade rolls meant I had crossed less distance than I expected. I realized this critical mistake just at the end of my turn.
My opponent’s taighas advanced, one being caught out by the Gorgos. His regular orders were spent moving out of the biotechvore zone and engaging and knocking the symbioarmor of my Gao-Real who was watching the center, and killing my left Makaul.
Then I paid for my mistake. I lost seven models all told, witch critacally cost me my options. I lost my Hatail hacker, the Tauri, Taagma, both Kealtars, my Chaksa peripheral, and another Makaul.
My options for a plan gone, I decided on going for body count. I moved my Gorgos forward to engage my opponent’s Nox fireteam directly. Three orders of flammenspear and pulzar netted me three Nox, and killed a Taigha that dodged into melee.
On my oppnent’s second turn, a second Taigha berserked the Gorgos, causing a second wound to the TAG and dieing to pistol fire. Only now, my Opponent reveals I killed his Nox Lieutenant (at the back of the fireteam). His proper second turn is spent taking the third wound off my Gorgos’ symbioarmor, deflating it, killing my Gao-Real and sending a Calaban to kill my Makaul protecting my Taquel.
End of second turn, I lose both Chaksa still in the biotechvore field. I has three regular orders left.
My third turn, my Taquel shoots the Calaban with viral rifle, cause seven saves, killing it. My wee Gorgos engages his Speculo amongst the bodies of his fireteam, killing him.
My opponents last turn is spent pushing his hacker forward, accomplishing two classifieds and avoiding my remaining three models.

Final result: Despite my luck in killing his troops, I killed too many of my own. He had 134 points remaining to my 110. Total objective points is my 1 to his 7.
And I learned that the greatest danger in the universe is yourself.
