Durgama Takeover

Upon hearing of a Shasvastii prescience at Darpan station, the Haqqislam High Command wasted no time in dispatching strike teams from the Hassassin Bahram while it organized the more ponderous elements of its forces to move en masse. Our strike team reached Xenofarm Gamma without incident and deployed in one of the fallow portions of the area. A quick update established our target as the sight of likely Shasvastii infiltration. However, we had barely begun our advance when a Tunguskan dropship roared up on our right flank and began deploying troops. We initially assumed that members of the Nomads, our erstwhile allies, were there to eliminate the same threat as us, but it was not long before Leila Sharif reported that our task force was being referred to as Shasvastii infiltrators over the quantronic network. Realizing the Tunguskan forces were here to attack our strike force, we quickly redeployed to face this new threat.

Attempted communications sent to the Nomads were rebuffed, so our Daylami moved forward to delay the Tunguskans and give us time to arrange our heavy weapons. The Muyib team took a commanding view of the battlefield from a taller farm equipment storage building on our new right flant, while a Farzan and Fiday backed up the daylami on the left and a Rafiq armed with the relatively new "Red Fury" anti-personnel machine gun held down our center. Our Engineer took cover below the Muyibs and prepared his nasmat to support our forces. We had barely established our position when the Nomads attacked.

The Tunguskans came in hard and fast, but we were ready for them. Their Puppetactia team tried to approach from the center, but our Muyibs burned them badly with their heavy rocket launchers. Their Vostok Sputnik then attempted to engage the Muyibs, but a lucky rocket made it through the barrage and heavily damaged the remote. A follow up shot burnt it to the ground along with the rogue engineer Fiddler who was part of the enemy force. Our sensors showed that Perseus, also a member of the haris team, had managed to evade the fiery explosions. The last nail in the coffin for the initial attack was a cross-the-field rocket shot that put the motorized bounty hunter out of commission, leaving her dazed and tangled with her wrecked bike.

With the opposing force's advance ground to a halt, we quickly moved to counter-attack and end this skirmish as quickly as possible; this was not our real target. Our Fiday moved forward and eliminated the enemies doctor and Interventor Lieutenant, prepared to give his life but spared by fate's mercy as the enemy turret missed every shot and his shotgun founds its mark on the Nomads with each shot.

Eager to secure intelligence on why the Nomads would believe we had been infiltrated, the force contacted our dropship to launch a Ragik operative. They breached the area on the left flank while remaining in cover from the bounty hunters who were trying unsuccessfully to protect their comrade on the bike. The Ragik first use a spotlight hacking program on the motorized bounty hunter to allow the force to protect him is she stirred (Telemetry), and then used a diagnostic program to ensure she was indeed human (Data scan). Finally, he cautiously moved past the line of fire of the enemy bounty hunters to retried the motorized bounty hunters cube for interrogation (capture).

After this the Nomands tried one more desperate attack, but Perseus and a second heckler were eliminated, as were the remaining Puppet bots, but the Muyib team. Finally, an enterprising Daylami was able to capture a suspicious civilian that had remained on the battlefield (secure HVT).

Interrogation of the captured bounty hunter was not difficult. With no allegiance to Tunguska she was forthcoming, and her cube will be returned to the bounty hunter's guild at the standard rate. Unfortunately all we could ascertain was that she and her two compatriots were hired on short notice, for single job contracts by the usual shadowy assortment of shell corporations one would expect when interacting with Tunguska. It's a lead our Barid teams are working, but we do not expect the results to be either useful or quick; the motivation of these rogue Nomad antagonists remains a mystory.

OOC: Had a fun game here with Cypher. We played two games on Thursday, so obviously we got randomly paired up in the tournament we both went to on Saturday. The mission was highly classified, which conveniently coincided with Darpan. Thankfully I was able to leverage the range on the Muyib HRLs on several occasions to win fights in ARO that would not have gone well otherwise. The Vostok was implacable in our last two games so it was nice to finally take it down. My Fiday taking out the Daktari and Interventor while staying alive was pure luck; he won face-to-face rolls against each, but I ignored the turret when I shot the Interventor and it just whiffed all three shots.
