//: [ REPORTING: KAZAK LT VLADMIR MOURAVIEFF, TARTARY ARMY CORPS]

As all who are reading this are well aware, the tactical situation in the Cameleiard region of Durgama has been experiencing substantial Yujingyu offenses to secure the reliquary contained within. Initial defense attempts provided by the local PanOceanian forces was, at first, virtually non-existent for the second phase of the ongoing crisis.

Due to the exemplary defense of the Raveneye station by Kosmoflot forces, Ariadna Joint Command has been asked to lend planetside assistance to remaining ICAF forces where they are most urgently needed. The end result of this exercise was Operation Ice Scalpel – the deployment of a Svalarheima WinterFor special operations team to breach the reliquary and secure the assets within. Should any hostile forces secure any valuable artifacts, the SWF team has been tasked to destroy the assets.

To prepare the team for this mission, I was placed in charge of a simulated OPFOR designed to resemble Yu Jing doctrine – a defensive light infantry team backed by heavy infantry and support remotes. As a special surprise, I elected to include a motorized fireteam of Dynamos to test the PanOceanian capability to adapt in thick of things.

As the attacking force, the SWF team held the initiative to strike at a time of their choosing. The assault started with a Karhu operator advancing to the center of the Area of Operations and expertly dispatching two Kazak snipers. Immediately thereafter, a Fusilier markswoman was able to neutralize our missile launcher support in short order.

With our overwatch eliminated, a team of Military Orders Knights began their advance. Though we had thought the armor of a Ratnik substantial enough to resist Spitfire-caliber ammunition, the first heavy infantry was KIA after a prolonged gunfight.

Our counterattack was, unfortunately, very ill-fated. Despite our rigorous and stringent equipment checks before each mission, both Dynamos experienced critical malfunctions with their mine dispensers as they drove into engagement range. This proved disastrous as one biker moved in to engage the hostile Karhu at close range, eliminating the enemy with boarding shotgun fire. This small victory was quickly rendered pyhhric a moment later, since the Karhu was able to place a mine before his elimination. In the end, both combatants had killed one another.

Even with the Karhu down, the remainder of the assault team – Flight Officer Agnes Ferreira and some Aristeia! star named Shoma Carano – remained a very substantial threat. Both remaining elements of the motorized team moved in to engage, to acceptable success. While the 112 and Agnes traded fire and disabled one another, a burst of Spitfire rounds was able to neutralize Shona before she could engage.

This forward momentum we had so painstakingly developed for ourselves came to an abrupt halt shortly thereafter. Our remaining Ratnik attempted to advance on the enemy Fusilier fireteam to engage their sniper, confident that weight of fire and thick armor would be able to push through the enemy defenses. What followed was instead a humiliating defeat at the hands of the enemy sniper after a protracted firefight.

The remainder of the fight was brief, with PanOceanian forces steadily and aggressively destroying our defenses and successfully demolishing our objective “relic.”. While I am impressed by the exceptional skill and professionalism of the WinterFor team, I am left embarrassed at the state of our ineffective defenses. I wish the assault team all the luck in retaking Cameliard, though after this exercise, I am unsure they need it.
