Having arrived at the battlefield ahead of our enemy, we deployed ahead of them. Not wanting Varuna to further their probe into our defense, command decided to eliminate their leadership structure and diminish their forces as much as possible.
Haqqislam’s right flank deployment. Nothing to note here besides that Saladin was the last trooper to arrive and he deployed on this flank.
Haqqislam’s left flank deployment. All notable troopers have been identified. Our Hunzakut, Mukhtar, and Zuleyka showed particular merit in this engagement.
Varuna’s right flank deployment. All notable troopers have been noted. Panoceania brought a Cutter as their Lieutenant to this engagement.
Getting to within meters, the Huzakut is discovered. Knowing it’s too late to turn back, she dives towards the enemy lieutenant and drops a deployable repeater. She is gunned down by Panoceania’s formidable ARO network.
Seeing a chance to strike, our Mukhtar, equipped with MSV2 and a Redfurry, heads up the field, killing both Helot’s and narrowly missing the enemy Peacemaker. Seeing its true target, the Mukhtar discovers the enemy lieutenant and dives into total cover.
Our Barid and Hawwa’ hackers engage in an info war to spotlight the enemy lieutenant. After four orders, they finally manage to target the Cutter. Unfortunately, our Shaytaniyah is also unlucky and misses both of its attempts to hit the enemy.
Despite their best efforts, our enemy was unable to discover the Fiday we planted within their ranks before the engagement.
Agnes, their only Fusilier of any merit, destroyed the repeater our Hanzikut gave her life to deploy.
With no repeater to impede their movement, Varuna deployed their Tag to destroy our flashbot. Similarly, their Montessa Knights made short work of our Muhktar. With no other obvious targets our enemy retreated to defensible positions, resetting the targeted status on their Cutter and re-camo-ing for better defense.
Seeing its chance, our Fiday moved past the enemy ARO network to assassinate the enemy Kamau. After re-impersonating, the Fiday was again able to move past all of our enemy’s detection. Discovering, then destroying the enemy Lieutenant.
Not satisfied the Fiday moved with our last order to kill a Fusilier and wound one of their Montesa Knights.
Having accomplished all we wished, we used our second group to moved troopers into more defensible positions.
Veruna’s Machinist was onto our Fiday’s games and move to destroy him. The Machinist was also able to kill the mercenary liberto we deployed to guard against advances.
Having delegated the rank of lieutenant to their Montesa Knight. He was stunned by a Designated Target, but not before he killed the citizen. Seeing no more opportunity, the Montesa retreated towards cover.
Unfortunately for our enemy, the cover wasn’t enough. Zulykia closed the distance and laid into the Montesa with her Breaker Pistols.
Sustaining a wound, the Montesa moved into cover. Zulykia pursued and engaged the Montesa; trading templates with everyone in the vicinity. In the end, only the Designated Target was left standing.
Meanwhile, our Hawwa’ was made aware of an HVT in the area and called in a missile strike on its location.
With few options, our enemy made a mad dash to kill our last Designated Target. Resetting through a repeater network, tanking hack and armor saves, The Montesa Knight was able to lay one volley directly into our HVT. Fortunately, our HVT’s armor was sufficient, and our enemy ran out of orders.
Striking a blow to Panoceania’s leadership structure and reducing their fighting capability, we have won this engagement.
Battle was 8-2 victory for Haqqislam
The Mukhtar should have made its run in turn one before anything else happened. It had a few targets to take out and if it failed it’s discover against the Cutter I would still have time to pivot. Additionally, the Mukhtar should have boddy blocked the ladder to make it harder on the Montesa.
The Fiday was lucky to not be discovered and should have made an attempt on the Kamau on my first turn.
Knowing I was up against Varuna, I should have held an extra model in reserve - likely the Asawira. This would have given me another option for engagements.
It’s never occurred to me to hold back the LT during deployment on Decapitation. That’s a good idea.
Congratulations on your victory, Commander!
Excellent work, as per usual! You’re a huge boon to our faction.
