This is commander Mandrake reporting recent enemy encounters on Raveneye’s Port Battery.
While defending the Rail Gun and all its accessories a strike force of Svalarheima managed to break through the defenses. They got us by surprise, because we overestimated our detection systems. Somehow, this special squat was able to get to the Port Battery unseen and were even able to advance to the hull surface of Raveneye where they successfully prevented our Corregidor forces from controlling this section. For more details read the mission description below.

The Lazareto battalion was ordered to guard the Port Battery with its Rail gun. This weapon is of extraordinary importance for the further campaign process and we were aware of our responsibility. It was a normal day and everything was under control when the intruder alert went off. How could that be? We had observation posts placed around Raveneye as well as Sensor Drones guarding the entrance to the Port Battery Section. Then things went a bit chaotic, some guard post were taken out from PanOceanian forces that were quickly invading the Port Battery and I could manage to bring some of our defense forces in position to avoid being overrun. With one drone alive, I was able to identify the enemy troopers. A special striking force from Svalarheima led by their fearsome JOTUM Tag was somehow able to advance undetected into our guarding section.

The CJC-Forces

For this special mission I requested fast and durable trooper that were able to persist in Zero-G environment. Luckily, my request was approved and I got a Gecko Squad and a highly qualified member of the emergency and special rescue team, the Tomcats, who can build up support for the Geckos in Zero-G. I also got Cyberware support by Jasmin “Jazz” Caticovas with her prominent Servant Billie.

Round 1

The Wandering Shaolin Monk Liang Kai rushed forward to bait a Crazy Koala, which was placed by our reliable Morans to repell enemy rushes all over the battlefield. With his high agility the Monk was able to dodge the Koala escaping his sure death. A Hospitaler Knight also baited the second Crazy Koala. However, his heavy armor hindered him to dodge this little, explosive device and took a painful hit. Another special trooper, the Locust appeared in the midfield and placed a Wildparrot, in front of the Gecko Squads while dodging the shoot attempts of Senor Massacre, who was observing the Locust. Now they had us in a bad situation which was then effectively took advantage of the Jotum. He brought himself into a good shooting position and targeted one of the Geckos. Within being in this dilemma, the Gecko decided to shoot back with his Marksman Rifle. At this point everything went bad. The wildparrot was able to bring severe E/M Damage to the Geckos, leaving them isolated and immoblized on the battlefield. The Jotum moved forward and tried to disable his targets. He managed to shoot at Billy and one of the Morans. He also got in good positions for controlling a section in front of our defense lines.
Then it was time for us to push the PanO’s back from the Orbital Station. The nomad forces, weakened from the surprise attack, gathered their strength and courage to prepare a counterattack. First of all, the Tomcat deployed on the battlefield to repair the E/M damage which disabled the Gecko Squad. I was sure, without their support the battle cannot be successful. So the Tomcat trooper move to them and used his incredible repair skills on the Geckos. It took several approaches from the Tomcat
(*facepalm* Repairing on 13 ist obviously too hard) to get at least one Gecko back online. This Gecko, armed with his MK12, moved forward and tried to secure the zones in front of our defense line. Meanwhile, a brave Alguacil (his name was Pablo Ortiz) sniped a Karhu who was guarding the battlefield with his Feuerbach to make the way free for the advancing Gecko.
The Gecko was able to get close to the Jotum and took several shots on him, but he was not able to kill this big Tag. He just left him hard damaged….sad enough. Then it was time for Jazz, our well-known special cybersoldier. Her order was too get control over the Tag to bring Havoc over the PanO forces and secure the section at the same time. Jazz prepared her Total Control hacking program and move closer to the Tag, unseen of course. In hacking range, she tried to deploy the cyberware on the Tag. However, the interferences here in Zero-G environment were too strong that Jazz was unable to successfully take over the Tag. From here on I realized that we will have a hard time.

Summary Round 1:
CJC – Controlled 1 quadrant (0 p)
Svalarheima – Controlled 3 quadrants (3 p)

Gecko Squad led by Senor Massacre awaiting orders.
Locust sneaks upon the Geckos shortly before he drops the Wildparrot.

Round 2

The Wandering Monk Liang-Kai rushed forward while dodging several shot from the well positions geckos. He was even able to get in close combat with the Tag and it took him only one hit to bring the Gecko down. With this successful action, the left flank of the battlefield was free to bring more PanO forces in better position. Another Karhu was able to move forward into our defense lines, noticed by several nomad troopers. Somehow he was able to take out one Alguacil Hacker who was trying to deploy a Spotlight hacking on him. Of course, not successful. The Jotum also moved more into the midfield to hold the control of this section.
The PanO forces left hardly room to breathe here. With some casualties we then tried our best to get at least some control over this section. The Tomcat was able to bring the second Gecko back online (good enough) and our chances rised again. The Gecko moved together with Senor Massacre towards the enemy defense line and was able to take out the locust. He brought himself in a good position to get some shots on the Jotum but was then critically hit by his explosive ammunition (poor Gecko). Still alive, the Gecko pilot decided not to risk the position he was holding right now and so he took cover. It was now up to Jazz again, to handle the Tag. Sadly, she was again unable to control the tag so our mission here failed again.

Summary round 2:
CJC – Controlled 2 quadrants (2 P)
Svalarheima – Controlled 2 quadrants (2 p)

The Jotum pushed forward to put the nomads in trouble.
The Gecko fights the Jotum in nearly close quarter range.

Round 3

Round 3:
The Wandering Monk rushed forward again and tried to sneak upon the Aguacil fireteam, who was guarding our defense line. But he took a lethal hit by a Missile (at least 1 successful hit). The Jotum then continued to bring havoc over our forces by shooting the Gecko down as well as Senor Massacre. Also a Karhu Engineer was able to repair the whole damage on the Jotum back to full strength. Fully recovered the Jotum killed here and there some remaining forces and managed to hold his position.
With a desperate action the remaining moran tried to sneak upton the Jotum to get hacking range for Jazz. He wasn’t able to reach the Tag so Jazz had to move herself into hacking. A deadly decision…. She was detected by the Jotum and took a deadly hit. This was the moment, when I as the commander of these brave soldiers decided to retreat from this fight. Nothing could be achieved here today.
With this unsuccessful operation I would like to apologize to all nomad citizen. We owe you much and your brave and courageous soldiers will be honored!

Summary Round 3:
CJC – Controlled 1 quadrant (0 p)
Svalarheima – Controlled 2 quadrants (2 p)

Jotum stills holds positions and secures the Victory for Svalarheima.

@Camarones Haha yes it’s quite confusing, but from the beginning of my Infinity career i decided to play blue nomads. And i rarely see a similar color theme, so its quite unique.

A beautiful battlefield, brilliantly painted miniatures, and an excellently written report. Cannot fault you. Well done!

  • Camarones says:

Gotta admit, it was a bit confusing looking at red PanO vs Blue Nomads 😉 Solid reporting with great pictures. I rather like your approach to a narrative style rather than frank game terms. Excellent work, commander.
