I contacted the Rokot mate I had met in my efforts to send out the info that YJ was illegally planning to develop its own AI.

We needed someone to rehearse against for some of my team’s redeployment from the Bow to Cameliard as Task Force Stryker Eureka. He agreed over some beers.

NCA Deployment. I was going second and Deploying second means that the Locusts went into a defensive role to protect them in the event someone was able to capitalise their lack of forward protection

The Fusiliers deployed to cover each other’s angles with a Sniper ready to push into a gunfighting role as required.

The Uhlan deployed on the right hand side ready to engage things to clear a path for a locust.

Kosmoflot Deployment – The Bear setup on the left decidedly opposite Aida. Unknown ranger and his cohort were on the left flank with Uxia and a number of SAS scattered around to increase their likelihood of achieving the objective.

Kosmoflot Turn 1 – First turn first order and the Unknown Ranger and his team were off to the races. Peeling up into the centre of the board looking for targets. He found them. Looking to engage the Fusilier sniper sitting up on the boardwalk. Pushing up further and he was able to get a bead from the corner of the central building after a couple of rounds of duelling the Sniper eventually goes down in a hail of gunfire. He then sneaks around attempting to get a line on the Viral mine and fails. Asking other members of his team they also fail the attempt to discover it preventing the Unknown Ranger’s ability to shoot at it and destroy to allow the bear to run wild and free straight at the AC2. Noting that my forces were relatively untouched and there was an Uhlan prowling around and he and his forces were quite exposed the Unknown Ranger pulled them back to safety.

Some side wrangling of other units brought Kosmo’s 1st turn to a close. With putting an SAS member into contact with a Panoply bringing it out of Camo.

NCA turn 1 – Gosh the Unknown ranger is close too close. I have an Unknown Ranger core in the midfield I have an Uxia outside my deployment zone and snipers covering my path out. It’s ok we can still do this.

Group 2’s Locust acted first. With Uxia in Camo and an SAS out of Camo I placed The WildParrot he was equipped with in ZOC of both.8” is a long way when the field is this tight. That should keep them from reacting for a bit. Aida moved to discover the SAS operator and then shoot her. Aida baited her out by moving into her LoF. She didn’t react. Aida got a success and was able to clear out NCA’s IFF feed about who she was and Aida then proceeded to move back but not before firing her SMG at her as she passed. The close range allowed her to offset the terrain and one shot managed to get through and with Uxia lack of shock protection meant she was down for the count. Aida fortunately tanks Uxia’s shotgun and then moved into cover and dropped into suppressive. Group 1’s Locust opened up next and cybermasked up to advance on the left flank unopposed. The AC2 was heavily defended he was gonna have to make a run for it. Pushing out into the open with many people delaying in case he revealed he pushed on, eventually reaching the AC2 and placing his D-Charge at the foot of it. It exploded but survived with only 1w it’ll have to be enough to render it inoperable. Now the NCA forces settled into for a hard defence. Hold the line and kill the SAS. With that everything proceeded to prosecute any remaining options of D-Charges for the Kosmoflot forces, this was done in short order . The Bear was a later problem.

Kosmoflot Turn 2 – The Unknown Ranger needed to open up the path for the bear. The bear had 3 opportunities to break the AC2 and there was Bushranger still sitting about the place. Aida was sitting in suppressive and she still had an inventory of Viral Mines to stall the bear he proceeded to spray her with his Spitfire. The Unknown Ranger then proceeded to move to engage the Uhlan…knowing that the Unknown Ranger had the equipment to discover and engage Bushranger unopposed Bush Ranger opened up and returned fire hoping his Feuerbach was enough to knock the operative unconscious. The Uhlan was able to stall the Unknown Ranger enough to allow the Fusiliers to recover.

NCA Turn 2 – The Auxilia with a Auxbot remaining pushed forward and directed him to open up with his Heavy Flamethrower this dropped the remaining Varangian.
