Durgama Takeover

One may ask "what's the point in yujingese warfare?". Heavy Infantry, efficient weaponry, ruthlessness, yeah, sure… What makes us stand apart is our chain of command: the discipline of the soldiers, the competence of officials and the authority of who stand above all of us. When I relieved the command of this Combat Group I didn't ask question. I wasn't supposed to do it. And I didn't. Our Daoying lieutenant has been sent to Xiandao: the main furnace must hold, lots of the best of us are now into the fray. Assaults on Cameliard still are undergoing. And I am now in charge of this small combat group. Joint training session, they say. But that's something off in these order we get. One may say that discipline is the backbone of the chain of command. If so, secret and lies are what fills all the gap.
Vessel captain voice through the ear implant made me came back to reality. "Ten minutes to docking". Times to be a lieutenant, another wheel of the countless wheels within wheels.
"Comrades, our orders are to escort our Diplomat and this Pangguling unit on the Raveneye, make contact with Corregidor agents there, conduct a training routine and promptly leave. Revered Diplomat Xi and the Pangguling unit are to be left in nomads' hands till the next training routine." I paused, since this is the part where things start to become, let's say, unusual. "We are specifically instructed to employ the less tactical effort we can and to learn all we can, Zero-G and quantronics in particular." Here is the weird part. "After that, we are instructed to reach the Imperial Service command in Xiandao, where all the data regarding the mission will be extracted from the cubes". This is not training, just another scheme. Even thought corregidorian are now our allies, all they care is what we can learn from them. "This is all. Revered Diplomat Xi insisted on supervising the operation and blessed us with his presence".
Diplomat Xi nodded lightly at the rest of the combat group. He had an enigmatic smile, sign that the scheme is on. I can clearly feel his eyes on me.

Mission is Quadrant Control, with Open Range, Artificial Gravity Failure and Interferences as Special Rules.
Nomads wins initiative roll, choose for second turn and deploy first. Mobile Brigada (Lieutenant), Evader and Jazz (Haris)are deployed in high ground, in cover and prone. Bandit is near the center line (rolled Grenades on Booty), Daktari took another high ground and Jaguar is in backside at ground level. Moran is later deployed near the HVT, his CrazyKoala to protect him. Turret on the same side of the table.
Yj deploys fireteam core (Zhanshis, one of them Lieutenant and Haidao) in high ground, Pangguling on left side (the same of Moran and Nomads HVT), turret in the centre of deployment line, Rui Shi beside turret. Hulang is then deployed forward, near Bandit.

Nomads spend a Command Token to take out two orders from YJ. Haidao shoot turret and kills it, ARO turret kill Zhanshi. Remaining Zhanshi are moved forward. Hulang moves forward, then discovers and kill Bandit (which failed Dodge). Using a coordinated order, Hulang is then moved forward, in cover, to contest the far quadrant, Pangguling move to contest a close quadrant and Rui Shi set for ARO. Zhanshi are moved to contest close quadrant and set up AROs.
Nomads move haris, Evader shoot Haidao, killing it straight with three damages. Core link is broken. Evader Shoot Zhanshi, who heroically dodges. Evader shoot turret (save two), shoot turret again (disabling it) but turret ARO deals one damage to Brigada. Jazz shoot pitchers near Hulang, one arrive in the right position to threaten both Hulang and Rui Shi. Jazz tries a Carbonite, but Hulang saves, Haris is then moved to safety, Brigada shoots Hulang which fail dodge but saves ARM. Fireteam Haris gains a new member, the Daktari.
Scoring points, YJ controls far right (Hulang costs more than Brigada), close right and close left quadrants.
YJ 3, Nomads 0.

Rui Shi runs to kill the repeater, got AROed by Jazz's Carbonite and Brigada's MULTIRifle. Rui Shi got killed, but succeed in taking out the evil repeater. Hulang shoots Brigada, which fell unconscious and AROed with flamethrower. Hulang dies from flames. Zhanshi Fireteam is once again active, shooting Evader. Evader ARO outclass puny combirifle shots and kills poor Zhanshi. With the last two orders, the two Zhanshis enters Suppressive Fire.
Evaders lunges forward contesting far quadrant, causing proximity ARO by Zhanshi. They both fails Dodge and exit Suppressive Fire. Jazz moves forward, tries Data Scan on Rui Shi but fails. Daktari ress Brigada with medikit.
Scoring points, Nomads controls close left, close right and far left quadrant.
Yj 3, Nomads 3.

YJ enters Retreat state. Spending Command Tokens, retreat is cancelled on a Zhanshi and an order is converted. Such heroic Zhanshi shoots Evader (making him NWI) and survives all the AROs (Evader, Daktari, Jazz and Brigada). Another volley kills Evader (freeing the quadrant from his presence), but Zhanshi is ultimately killed.
Scoring points, both faction controls both respective close quadrants.
Yj 4, Nomads 4.

No one scored Classified objective, both Secure HVT options were thwarted, respectively, by Jazz and Pangguling. The match is therefore a DRAW. Yj has 19 points left, Nomads 99.

"You saw that, right? I wasn't wrong about you, zhanshi Li Ming..." I stopped. No one calls me by my name. "You know that this little skirmish wasn't about warfare. It was about information. Datas. Combat routine nomads wouldn't dare to share with us prior coalition. A whole new perspective upon their area of competence. Precious data for our project in development." We were walking towards the airlock to the shuttle. "We were watching you. Your promotion to lieutenant was no a coincidence". I know where this is going. "Upon the data extraction is complete, I'd like you to have Agent Guo Long know about this little chat we just had". I bowed slightly. "Good, good, Invincible Army fits you well, but Imperial Service fits you better, trust me." He turned around and walked away, disappearing in the dim-lighted interior of the Raveneye.
