Dawn breaks on the Zebu Research centre, where our JSA battle group meets a Tohaa ambush on the field. Our nervous anticipation of the forthcoming battle only tempered by the presence of an O’Yoroi TAG, supplied generously to the battle group by High Command thanks to the reinforced supply lines to the Research Centre. Our goal, drive out any opposition, liberate Symbiosamples, and hold the Zebu station against further attacks.
The battle begins with the mighty O’yoroi attempting to cause havoc in the Tohaa lines, only achieving some pre-emptive smoke throwing, revealing an infiltrating liberto freedom fighter, and coordinating with the Karakuri to lay covering fire for our next forward advance. Our ninja stepped out of the shadows, using the confusion of battle to access a console for a Symbiosample, and stole away into the forward lines of the tohaa ambush to lie in wait.
The enemy unit responded with an advance of their Sukeul under the cover of eclipse smoke. Armed with a K1 combi rifle, these commandos pose a significant threat to our TAG, however they did not have the resources to attack due to the suppressive fire laid down by said O’yoroi, along with the support of a Husong Yaokong HMG, a keisotsu fireteam led by an overwatching missile launcher, and a enhanced Son-Bae Yaokong.
With the Tohaa advance curbed, the keisotsu fireteam sprang into action, laying blasts on several Tohaa positions, killing a delegate, makaul, and liberto. The TAG also lumbered forward, enfilading the position of another Sukuel and causing them to use up a Symbiomate, while the pilot accessed another console. The karakuri moved into a forward position and once again began to lay covering fire.
Starting to look a little worse for wear, the Tohaa ambush unit shored up their position, bring forward Keesan to retrieve a Symbiosample. They used their resources to avoid covering fire from the Husong Yaokong and pushed forward into their own territory.
Entering the final stages of the battle, the O’yoroi once again enfiladed the enemy postion, causing some wounds and pushing into Tohaa territory, securing a position to halt Tohaa advance. The keisotsu fireteam moved forward, to support the TAG in securing it’s position. The Karakuri moved as well, eliminating the last Sukeul and the last real threat to the O’yoroi.
The final Tohaa push saw the ninja reveal itself to the pheroware tactics of the Taquel Officer, unfortunately becoming the first and only casualty of the JSA battle group. The enemy Igao used it’s advanced position to coup de grace the ninja, stealing the Symbiosample and bringing this battle to a stalemate.
