Yu Jing turn 1

The probing Yu Jing attacks on Cameliard had been relentless. Deep from the jungle the shimmer of ghosts would catch the corner of the eye only to fade into the darkness as they watched, waiting for the moment to strike. Sometimes their fierce forays were repulsed, other times temporary losses had caused the Pan O forces to regroup, rethink and retake positions. Today was different. The shadows at the edge of the first lingered. An attack was imminent.

The Military Orders defenders took up position and watched as the Yu Jing forces advanced towards the compound. As the cries of the Shoalin monks rung out they threw smoke to cover their advance. The Teutonic Knight missile team was rendered blind and helpless to stop their advance. Spotting the Black Friar Heavy Rocket launcher watching the approach the Shang Ji HMG pushed to take out the overwatch and clear the approach. The Military Orders defence holds true and eliminates the Shang Ji. Undeterred, the state empire forces press on.

Suddenly, from the flank, Liang Kai rushes from the ferns with two monks leaping from branch to branch to explode into the clearing beside the Black Friar and her supporting Crosiers. The Spitfire Crosier raises his gun as the Black Friar brings the heavy rocket launcher to bear. Panicked, both fired off desperate shots to slow their advance. With ease, the leading monk dodges the incoming fire, the ground closing between the monk and his prey. Closing in the monk unleashes a hail of chain rifle fire as the defenders continue their desperate attempt to hold the line. The Crosier Spitfire and the Black Friar both take fatal injuries and the defensive line is broken. With a clear path to the Armoury, the Jujack core fireteam moves up to open the door to the Armoury and take up defensive positions.

There’s only one problem. The door doesn’t open. After several attempts the core, baffled at the advanced security, backs away and a mysterious camo token moves forward. Catching a glimpse of its hazy form the Teutonic missile launcher discovers its true form, a Guilang. The expert hacker deciphers the complex cryptographic algorithm and unlocks the Armoury. A second ghost-like figure emerges from the shadows towards the building, desperate to reveal this new threat the Teutonic knight discovers it to be a Beasthunter. With the defences already faltering the Yu Jing forces converge on their target in force, and the Beasthunter enters the room followed by the Guilang.

Military Orders turn 1

As the smoke clears a lone Jujack is spotted guarding the corner of the Armoury. The Teutonic fires two missiles landing both with expert precision the target exploding in a mist of kinetic armour and gore. Eager to shore up their flank the Teutonics move up, this time bringing the Spitfire to bear on the advancing monks. Both are eliminated with extreme prejudice.

Looking to safely clear the Armoury the Escort Sergeant sends the heavy flamethrower auxbot into the room while the handler removes the flash pulse bot from the equation. A long-range, speculative shotgun shot from Liang Kai takes out the approaching auxbot, which, despite unleashing a molten hot burst of flame deals no damage as the agile forces of the state empire dodge out of the way with ease. Padre Inquisitor Mendoza moves into the Armoury to secure the room and offer the attacking forces a worthy opponent.

But on the other side of the battle field, amidst the crumbling flank, a camouflaged Trinitarian watches the carnage unfold as Liang Kai and his monks tore through the Military Orders defences. In a desperate attempt to slow their advance he suddenly reveals, surprising the monk leader who perishes under shock-loaded bullets. Sadly, the volley of chain rifle fire mortally wounds the Trinitarian. The hovering Crosier paramedic waits to rescue his comrades, but the timing is not right so wait he must.

Yu Jing Turn 2

With all resources pooled under one command the Yu Jing forces press the weak flank bringing the now blood-thirsty monks towards the bloodied line of Military Orders defenders. Unconscious bodies explode under chain rifle fire, the paramedic explodes into a red mist as the desperate dodge to survive this relentless attack the Knight Commander is forced to reveal his true identity. Having spotted the leader of the defensive forces the monk drives his attack forward, mad rage blinding him to a single defensive combi rifle shot, which stops the attack short. Noticing her brethren’s change in focus the second monk follows his path and charges the Lieutenant. In the face of the enraged monk, the Knight Commander stands his ground, raises his sword, and runs to greet the attacker with cold hard steel. The close-quarters battle that ensues is short-lived, the explosive response felling the stoic leader of the defensive forces. The Knight Commander’s valiant death honoured in the combat reports the followed.

Meanwhile, in the Armoury, Padre Inquisitor Mendoza faces an enraged Beasthunter and the furious combat that rains down upon him. Dodging to bring his own attack to bear on the Beasthunter. But as he steps away from the oncoming attack and brings his sword around in a sickening arc, he slows…a cold sensation creeps throughout his body, slow tendrils wrapping around his heart and closing. Blood spills from beneath thick armour plates and the mighty warrior collapses to his knees and dies.

Military Orders turn 2

With the command structure in tatters, and forces scattered, the might forces of the religious order grind to a halt. Inspired by the bravery displayed by the Knight Commander in the face of near-certain death a lone Raveneye Officer sees an opportunity to stem the onslaught and pushes to take down the lone monk. A burst of submachine gun fire clips the monk and renders it unconscious. Shocked by the horror of seeing Padre Inquisitor Mendoza cleaved in half the Escort Sergeant rains a hail of combi rifle fire on the Beasthunter, and while the Sergeant avenges Mendoza it dies under the fury of the heavy flamethrower response.

Yu Jing turn 3

Seeing the objective in sight the force of the state empire move into the Armoury to seal their claim. Ammunition is passed around, cover sought and rifles are turned to suppressive mode. They are entrenched, nothing but a desperate attack by the Military Orders defenders could turn the attackers on their heels.

Military Orders turn 3

The Teutonic knights catch a glimpse of the bloodshed on the other side of the field and realise that it’s down to them to turn the tide of this battle. The new Lieutenant, armed with a Spitfire, lines his sights to the defensive Jujack. A burst of linked Spitfire rounds descend on the Jujack while a Blitzen round arcs towards the Teutonic knight from Lei Gong. The Jujack takes a wound, but brushes off the rest and the Teutonic is isolated.

With the link team broken the missile launcher advances determined to eliminate the Jujack. Sadly, its attempts are easily absorbed and another Blitzen round immobilises the advancing missile launcher. Realising the Armoury is lost the final Teutonic knight moves to secure the enemy HVT, hopeful that further intelligence can be gleaned from the target that would enable reinforcements to take back what was rightfully the property of the hyperpower nation.
