This write up is not detailed because my opponent was playing his first ever game of infinity. We both decided to play 200 points so that not too much time was spent looking up rules. I was playing the new Morat army pack and my opponent started with Nomads, because they looked ‘cool’ and he had just finished painting them in traditional red.
As a veteran player, I walked a tight rope between showing the ARO rules and pointing out tactical advantages, without crushing his order pool size. My opponent picked up the rules very quickly and was soon confident in identifying what classified cards were viable and which were not worth the effort.
In the end, Chris managed to wipe out all of my miniatures apart from the three morat vanguard and the kaitok. I only just about managed a draw with my last order, where I managed to achieve ‘coup de gras’ on an unconscious aguarecil. We both ended up with three classified objectives each.
We both fun and more importantly I believe I have looked another new player to the wonders of Infinity.
Good report!
Teaching new players is very tricky !
