(Disclaimer……. Sadly I didn’t take any photos of this battle. My opponent took one which is pretty illustrative. I have written up the details as accurately as I can. I am also on my phone so am unable to share army list PDF’s but there are screenshots of each list used)
White Banner forces were alerted to reports of the Aleph army attempting to gain a foothold in the Zebu Reseach Centre. Despite current campaign objectives the troops of the Banner were mustered and the enemy engaged.
As we took up our positions reports were received that the Aleph forces were spearheaded by not 1 but 2 mighty Marut TAGs. Truly Aleph was commiting to this theatre and we needed to repel them.
The huge robotic titans were last to field in an attempt to counter our forces but our anti armour firepower was already laid out ready to take the fight to the enemy and then dominate the labs once the Maruts were smoking ruins.
Seizing the initiative our lone Guilang pushed deep into enemy territory to set up a repeater network, once said network was up and running the Zanshi core was able to target one Marut and order a reign of guided fury onto the metallic monster. The maneuver merely damaged it though and it was able to shake off our telemetry. It was time to fight fire with fire, our Shang Ji took charge and drew a bead on the other Aleph TAG. Once the gunsmoke had cleared the beast was still standing but it had been considerably damaged and driven deep back into the Aleph deployment zone. With the Shang Ji now hiding to reload, the Zanshi LT ordered up a Long Ya to launch its Panzerfausts at the retreating TAG. Try as we did though the metal behemoth could not be defeated. Our resolve held though and on the opposite side of the field our own TAG, the Blue Wolf began a push into enemy territory to take and hold. With one final blast from the now reloaded Shang Ji which was sadly ineffective we braced for the AI’s counterstrike.
Aleph immediately upped the pressure, the Maruts coordinated their efforts to lay down a hail of bullets against the Shang Ji. Bullets flew from both mighty machines but our resolve proved stronger. Ducking an explosive round and returning fire against the already damaged Marut the Shang Ji was unfazed but an Aleph TAG was damaged enough to shut down. The cheers over the comms systems were short lived however as with the efficiency and precision known only to AI machines the Aleph engineering core committed to repairing its TAGs. Both machines were now back to full power but it had cost the enemy time. The Maruts counter attack had been blunted so they threw themselves up the field to control our territory.
The AI had miscalculated. Perhaps it’s lines of communication were affected by the fighting, perhaps it had simply become overconfident but it had nonetheless miscalculated. Its Marut spearheads were now in a tactically unsound position and we opened up upon them with extreme prejudice. Do not underestimate these beast though fellow Commanders. They will punish you for any unfavourable engagements and fight tooth and nail until they succumb to their damage. Our heroic Shang Ji was able to bring them down but only with further assistance from our Guilang, Son-Bae and Long Ya combat units. Once the Maruts were down though the Aleph forces were hugely compromised. The Shang Ji pushed up the field securing zones, his fire team companions followed up behind him and turned on two server consoles. On the other flank the Blue Wolf danced around a Posthumans hacking area but was unable to actually put it down. No matter, the Aleph control zones were now wide open for occupation so he pushed forward removing a Netrod and a highly irritating Flash Pulse bot and stood firm. Our Shang Ji had taken fire from a CSU with delusions of grandure and had briefly succumbed but our Paramedic team was able to revive him so he continue to dominate Aleph quarters.
With the majority of the sphere of engagement in YuJing control and the Maruts unrepairable, Aleph was in a bad place. Their courageous troops however wouldn’t retreat. A last ditch attempt to remove the Shang Ji was launched by Alephs LT. This Shukra’s actions underfire should be commended. He showed bravery and commitment in the face of overwhelming odds. We salute his sacrifice and hope our troops behave so honourably when it is their time.
Once the Shukra died the remaining Aleph forces were cut off completely and mopped up by our forces, leaving the area in YuJing control. We salvaged parts of the Maruts for analysis and have downloaded essential data about the AI’s battle plans.
Glory to the State Empire. Glory to YuJing, the true Hyperpower.

An excellent report, congratulations on your victory, Commander!
Good start, keep it up.
Truly, a commendable effort against such odds, especially when considering the 2 maruts. You have done an exceptional service for the state empire!
Oh boy, the 2 marut gamble is a gamble…but it did not seem to phase Yu Jing!
Nice Writeup
nice bat rep
Two Marut’s is a lot of firepower but you handled it as expected of a Commander of the State Empire. Well Fought!
Good Write up – definitely try to upload the army lists if you get a chance 🙂
(You should be able to edit the report once you’ve got computer access, even without more photos recreating and attaching lists should help earn higher ratings and commendations!)
Facing two Marut at once, a difficult obstacle for even the mighty forces of Yu Jing, a setback here was always likely. Nevertheless, a battle well fought!
nice read although some more pics would make it even more enjoyable 🙂
Wave of Maruts it must be impressive, well on the other hand the Maruts will not be so secret now… ( ◠ ◡ ◠ )
It is nice to read.
Nicely written. In the heat of the battle it’s quite hard to take pictures. I always try to remind myself to do it.
