Durgama Takeover

Lt. Hauser exited the mission briefing in a bit of shock. His unit was about to deploy to the planet. The Starboard battery almost felt like home at this point. It felt strange leaving, but intel gathered after the last skirmish with the Combined army indicated a planned assault on Xiandao. The ICAF believed the best chance of countering this new Combined offensive was to mobilize his team. He shook his head in disappoint thinking of the state of the human sphere as he opened the barracks door. 'Well boys, time for some fresh air.'

We deployed with the Ratnik on the left and Dog Warrior holding the middle. Multiple infiltrators worked their way to the treeline.

Combined army forces deployed fairly evenly across the field. Rodoks countering the Ratnik, and the Nexus and Jayth on the right flank.

As is our developing SOP I ordered the Dog Warrior to lead the charge. He managed to engage 3 of the enemy combatants in his initial attack, but unfortunately only eliminated the Jayth. Then I repositioned the Ratnik, Pavel, and Uxia in order to facilitate completion of objectives.

The enemy counterattack was surprisingly effect. The Taighas came on in a rush. While we were able to eliminate one, the second wounded our Irmandinho. A Unidron was sacrificed to render the Dog warrior unconscious. The second Unidron moved into a strong position overlooking the center of the battlefield.

With the Taigha and Unidron controlling the midfield I couldn't advance the SAS or Uxia. I ordered Pavel out of the trees to engage the Unidron. This opened the way for our Ranger to get behind the Taigha and eliminate it.

After Pavel was injured in our last engagement I made sure he could hide before the enemy reengaged him. Unfortunately, the Rodok was able to see through his concealment and Pavel was wounded. The second Rodok moves to engage the Ranger, but neither could manage to land a meaningful hit.

The two Rodoks were now in control of the left. Controlling the momentum of the battle was proving difficult. The Ranger had a good vantage on the spitfire Rodok so he moved to engage. This time the Ranger won out killing the Rodok. Now I felt it was the appropriate time for a Ratnik assault. The power armored trooper moved forward, scored a direct hit on the enemy commander, and then failed to destroy the enemy defense turret.

The effectiveness of the Ratnik gave us the opportunity we needed. Our 112 managed to provide emergency medical attention to the Irmandinho saving his life and Uxia moved into enemy territory.

With the enemy commander out of action, Combined army forces were in disarray. The remaining Rodok attempted to engage the Ratnik, but was killed. As the Med-tech moved to assist it was also eliminated by the Ratnik.

The remaining enemy fled the field and we set up perimeter security.
