Durgama Takeover

We tried a new and very strange map; the fire blocked line of sight

Top of One
The Avatar exerted his will to send his forces forward first. A very tentative deployment allowed early opportunities for the Greif to accomplish an objective turn one. Bit and Kiss advanced and placed a repeater down, catching both Leila and a Barid. Over subsequent turns they were downed then attacked again through their implants until off the board, in exchange for the one success of isolating Kiss. Content with this, movements were made to get a bit closer with Daturazi and the Umbra.

Bottom of One
Trying to learn from mistakes in previous games, I advanced across a broader front. The surviving Barid threw down his pitcher and isolated the Umbra but was not able to wound him due to the high ground position. Staying back from the Avatar Kit, the Greif and several Taigha were eliminated, clearing my half of the board. Fiddler moved up and Jackbots set up for the Combined Army return to aggression.

Top of Two
Taking advantage of his forward positions, the Avatar would adjust his position slightly to new high ground. Daturazi were now fully set up to cover the HVT and the Med-tech was both safe and in position to make a run. The Liberto would make use of the chaotic center and the fireteam’s poor position to begin eliminating the midfield. A Daylami and two Mutts were gone before he was finally stopped.

Bottom of Two
Working to capitalize on time the Barid and Fiddler both rushed the HVT. Barid completing scanning and Fiddler dodged a shot from the Avatar out of cover (whew) to make Retro Engineering. The fireteam was able to put down the Umbra at the cost of Yara dying to splash damage and then all would dig in to hold off the final CA push.

Top of Three
The Avatar, no longer content to sit and send minions, advanced himself. Much of the fire team would fall to his brutal blows. Fiddler, the Barid, and both Asawira would fall clearing the way for the med-tech to move on the HVT unopposed. Low on orders, it made it there with one short skill and one order remaining. The great golden sun would shine on this day and both rolls were failed, ending the assault.

Up on objectives and in retreat from the damage the game was called there for a close Haqq victory.
