Durgama Takeover

Overview:
Nomad command has been running quantitative analysis of all combats operations occurring during the EI offensive in the Durgama peninsula on Concilium Prime. They have noted a clear statistical anomaly in the efficiency of Yu Jing’s defense of the Xiandao Neosteelworks. Yu Jing forces have been consistently more reliable, and have lost less war material, in their defense efforts than other factions with assets in the theater. After careful analysis it was determined that the reason for their impressive defense was due to the tactical acumen provided by the recreation Sun Tze. In order to ███████ ███ ██████████ ██ ███ ██ ████ ███████ and ████ ██████ ██ █████ ██████ in Durgama a task force was sent in to Xiandao. The irregular task force was unable to accomplish its goals.

Forces:
The irregular task force led by Interventor Lieutenant █████ was comprised of two Hollow men, a Puppet master, a Heckler, remote support from two Tranductor Zonds, one Reaktion Zond. Armoured support was provided by the Szalamandra squadron, and tactical engineering support by a Clockmaker. Additionally the mercenary services of ████ were purchased.

Enemy Forces:
The defense was led by Sun Tze. To minimize causalities in the Area of Opertions the defense was centered around the Yu Jing doctrine of “expendable” forces, with a core of Kuang Shi lead by a Celestial guard monitor, and mercenary forces comprised of a Motorized Bounty hunter, Major Lunah, a Kunai Ninja, and two Dakinis borrowed from ALEPH led by Xi Zhuang. This was augmented by a Su Jian for direct fire support, remote support from a Chaiyi, and EVO support via a Pangguling.

After Action Report:
The irregular task force was able to successfully infiltrate into the Area of Operations (AO). Due to the skills of Interventor Lieutenant █████ the task force was able to maintain the initiative and strike the Yu Jing defenses before they could respond (see Appendix A: Effectiveness of Nomad Lieutenant doctrine by branch). Three bursts of shooting from the Szalamandra quickly eliminated the Chaiyi, the bounty hunter, and Lunah. Then the Szalamandra maneuvered to the left flank and put shots on Sun Tze directly. Though sustaining a minor wound Sun Tze was able to duck behind total cover and protect himself from follow-up fire. The Hollow man on the right flank advanced and attempted to drop a pitcher to limit the Su Jian but was unable to land it on a stable surface. He then attempted to ███████ a designated target but received return fire with a Panzerfaust from the Su Jian and the target was able to dodge his point blank fire (see Appendix B: “XCOM syndrome” or what to do when missing a 95% change). Luckily the Hollow man was able to mostly survive and withdrew to a safer position. Seeing that the offensive was losing steam Interventor Lieutenant █████ ordered his troops to adopt a defensive position and adopt suppressing fire, expect the incoming Yu Jing counterattack.
Seeing that the Nomad task force was focused heavily on the flanks the Yu Jing forces attempted to use the haris of Xi Zhuang and the Dakinis to strike down the middle and split the attacking force in two. Unfortunately Xi Zhuang was caught out of position by the Szalamandra and the Dakini HMG could not beat the superior engineering of the Reaktion Zond. Taking a different angle, the Yu Jing forces had the Su Jian used it’s superior mobility to advance towards the Nomad position. The Su Jian was able to take out a Transductor and an irregular target, the Heckler attempted to jam the robotic cat however it’s anti-virus software was able to prevent any damage. The Su Jian then went to directly remove the Heckler who was able to put done a Fast Panda in an act of vengeance. With the cat in a compromised position, the Kunai Ninja revealed its existence and dash on the rooftops to take out the Interventor. Despite the best efforts of the Puppet master, and the Hollow man, and the defensive turret, the Kunai was able to successfully take out the Interventor without suffering any repercussions. Finally the Su Jian repositioned and was able to take out the damaged Hollow Man on right flank.
With the loss of Interventor Lieutenant █████, command was taken over by Szalamandra pilot ███ who advanced on the left flank and took out Yu Jing’s defensive turret and the remaining active Dakini. This cleared the way for a high risk drop by ████. Unfortunately Yu Jing ECM was effective and ████ did not drop on the correct flank (see Appendix C: Cost Fallacy of Mercenary reputation). ████ advanced up the left flank and after numerous attempts he was able to ███████ both targets but was unable to damage the Su Jian.
The Celestial Guard led the Kuang Shi to overpower ████, the Su Jian advanced to take shots against the Reaktion Zond which was able to retreat to cover. Finally Sun Tze came out of cover to engage in a firefight with the Szalamandra and was able to overpower it (see Appendix D: Effectiveness of MultiRifles).
Trying to salvage the situation the Clockmaker ran out to repair the Szalamandra and was able to restore it. The Szalamandra was able to take out the Kunai Ninja but did not live through a coordinated counter attack from both Sun Tze and the Su Jian.

Do not use a broad front approach. The efforts of Yu Jing’s counter attacks were diluted by
Do not over advance long range combatants. Use their effective ranges as much as possible.
Anchoring attacking forces with suppressive fire limits liability in advances.
Unanchored advances are easy to reverse.

Recommend resurrection of Interventor Lieutenant █████
Recommend changes to Nomad Officer Candidate School to focus on tactical deployment of forces to preserve command.
Review maintenance procedures for TAGs in theater, focusing on maintaining armor effectiveness.
Actually review the maintenance and storage of all armor in the theater, with the high failure rate in this mission someone’s gotta be skimming some money.
