VS ALEPH
iltasu

DeltaUruz here, reporting another victory for the State Empire.

The reason for this Aleph attack remains unknown. Maybe they wanted to recover some artifacts or delete some data from the reliquary structure, they seemed only interested in a very specific area of the complex, we’ll make sure to explore further the secrets of this place to find out.

Deployment:
-Invincible Army: the core fireteam composed by a Shang Ji AP HMG, Kokram, Haidao KHD and Pangguling FTO deploys in full cover on the left side of the table, with just the Shang Ji watching the allied AC2.
The Haris composed by Haidao multi-sniper, son bae Yaokong and a Zhanshi hacker stays on a building in the center, with the first two in ARO positions, and a Evo Hacker stays just behind the same building.
The Daoying stays prone on top of the tallest building on the left side, not planning to get out of her camo state for the battle, as usual
A Hùlang deploys forward in a corner of a building, watching my AC2 and placing a crazykoala within 8” of it

-Aleph: On my left side, a Evo Hacker, a Thorakites Engineer and a Shukra stay in full cover.
In the center, near the AC2, stands a bounty hunter, a Deva KHD and a beasthunter, who places a mine near the objective.
On my right side, Hector, Asura HD+ , Atalanta and a Samekh deploy in full cover, ready to advance.

-Aleph. turn 1: The Asura moves forward, spotlights the HVT after a few tries, picks up MOV 8-4 from a panoply, and keeps advancing faster than ever.
Through cautious movement, manages to get within 8” of my ARO team without engaging in a firefight (but suffering a wound from the crazykoala), so he starts hacking, kills the Zhanshi hacker and immobilizes the Haidao, who is however able to reset in a subsequent ARO.
With only a few orders left, Atalanta sneaks out of cover to take out what remains of the ARO team with a more direct approach. She snipes the Haidao out of existence with ease, but a lucky shot from the missile launcher REM ends her life. The turn concludes with the beasthunter advancing a bit and placing another mine.

-Invincible Army, turn 1: The Core fireteam activates immediately, with the Shang Ji managing to find LoF to the Asura, in good range and out of cover, so he is able to kill her in just a couple orders. Then the team begins its advance on the left side of the table, with a plan to stop by the panoply while making its way to the AC2. Kokram gets a flamethrower, while the Pangguling gets a multi-rifle. In the area of the panoply, the team gets LoF to the Thorakites. At first Krit tries to win the firefight (gotta spend those sweet NCO orders), but then the Shang Ji shows him how it’s done.
I spend the last orders moving the team closer to the target, with the Shang Ji climbing on top of a platform and failing to kill the beasthunter, then, satisfied with the placement of the troopers for the turn, I just place another crazykoala with the Hùlang, and put him in suppressive fire

Aleph, turn 2: The Samekh Remote takes the same path of the Asura on the right side of the table, picks up +2 ARM from the panoply and engages in a battle with his Chinese equivalent, but after exchanging a couple missiles, it gets destroyed.
Then, the Bounty Hunter feels lucky, peeks out of cover and shoots the Shang Ji with the Akrylat-Kanone. The Shang-ji is too slow to respond, and an incredulous expression crosses his face while he gets glued on the spot!
Hector decides it is time to strike the incapacitated enemy, but his plasma rifle malfunctions, missing all the hit rolls, while the Shang ji is able to dodge and free himself from the glue. After a bit of repositioning, the beasthunter concludes again the turn by placing the last mine and advancing a bit more.

-Invincible Army, turn 2: Still furious from the embarrassment of having been glued off-guard, The Shang-ji realizes the situation is critical: the guy with the glue-cannon is still pointing at him, a hero of the Aleph is guarding the console, and the whole area is covered in mines. Time is too tight to do the things in the safe way. With his tactical awareness order, he runs as far as he can, triggers all the mines, and shoots both the opponents: while Hector tanks the shots with no effort, the bounty hunter dies. However, 3 armor-piercing mines were too much for the warrior to sustain, and he finally falls unconscious.
With the main firefighter down, Kokram takes the lead of the squad. He engages Hector, and is able to kill him, taking down a wound with every order spent. Now the area around the AC2 is free, and Krit hurries to destroy it with the d-charges. But the damn thing is tougher than expected, and after all the 3 detonations, it only suffered 1 STR damage, and has stunned the engineer, who consumes the last order to fall back into cover

-Aleph, turn 3: The Beasthunter realizes he’s the only guy left able to complete the mission, so he hurries to the AC2. He is able to resist to the explosion of the crazykoala without a scratch, avoid various missiles from the Son-Bae, get out of its LoF and reach the AC2, that suffers 2 STR damage from a critical hit of the DA CCW, bringing the advantage to Aleph. Unfortunately for the Beasthunter, that was his last deed: while he was trying to destroy the console, the Hùlang, still in suppressive fire guarding the objective, takes him out with no effort.
With a couple more combined orders, the remaining aleph forces get better positions to defend the AC2: the Deva and the Shukra gain LoF to whoever will try to reach the console, while the Probot starts a misterious advance towards the fireteam. It is able to move in a blind spot for a while, then tries to get in close combat with Kokram, just to block him, but a torrent of template weapons leave him unconscious.

Invincible Army, turn 3: Leveraging the favorable range of his multi-rifle, Kokram takes out the Deva, while the Haidao advances to get closer to the Shukra, remaining out of his sight until he is able to become the team leader, peek out of the corner and exchange templates of boarding shotgun with the foe, taking him down without suffering injuries. With no enemies left on the table, Kokram completes the “nanoespionage” classified on the Probot, and the Liu Xing is able to arrive near the AC2 without any trouble (using also Assisted Jump).
Using the last command tokens to coordinate the attack to the AC2, the Liu Xing drops all the 3 D-charges on the objective, but still only damaging it 1 more time, so he reloads by the Pangguling and unloads again the explosives: this time, a critical hit finishes the job, destroying the toughest console ever built.

Finale score – Yu Jing: 6, Aleph: 3
In the end, a really fun game full of surprises, against a very particular and characteristic army!
