Durgama Takeover

After the LT roll and loosing that to the defenders they choose the better side and to deploy second. this suited me fine as my list was aggressive and would of chosen to strike first anyway as the can not hold the zones if they have no points left! I deployed my Charontids HMG to my left a umbra samaritans in the centre and anathematic hidden to the right. 4 taighas’s spread across the table the rest of my list was drones and orders. he deployed a sea of camo and 2 bikers with Col Voronin all close together, 2 grunts with flamers were rolled for and placed just outside my zone after deployment it look like there was 2 models not there! his command token usage was to place Jacques on suppressive fire breaking his camo but was a road block I didn’t need.

Turn 1 CA
I spent 2 impetuous orders on taigha’s but coukdn’t on the other two as would of been flamed and I didn’t want to throw them away yet. The Charontids moved up to get the Frenchman in suppressive fire thinking he could take him alas lost the face to face but tanked the armour saves! instead I moved a taigha up and chain colt him instead and put him down and also tanking the saves from his fire. Next I needed to deal with the grunts now with no over watch the umbra moved around the back of one grunt and ate his wounds in CC and failed 2 arm saves off his flamethrower ending back on 1w after that close call I moved a taigha to CC the other which killed both it and the grunt. After being stripped 2 orders and Annie hidden I didn’t have many orders left I co-ordinated ordered the Charontids up with some baggage drones and the umbra a metro revealed and shot a panzerfaust off to only drop prone after failing guts with a hit of the HMG with only 2 burst. with a few irregular orders left in group 2 I pushed a taigha up on his own which after 6-6 impetuous at the start and now a 6-6 he was a close enough I could flip an order and get close to the bikes and his LT Voronin so I did looking at my last command token and the irregular left in group 2 and chose to throw caution to the wind flipped it and sent the little taigha on a suicide run. he chose to dodge with the two bikes and his LT and the taigha laid its chain colt template down covering all 3! After only 1 bike passed its dodge both the bike being his only paramedic too and Voronin went unconscious!!!!! feeling smug settled down for his first turn.

Turn 1 Ariadna
Not starting in loss of lieutenant and only having 5 orders in his main pool and 3 in his second my suspicions were justified when his a big angry dog appeared near my Imetorns which both failed their rolls for deployment left me little choice but to put them close as my DZ was unfavourable to defend. he didn’t use his chain rifle over both instead moved to CC which crit and I passed all the saves!!! which he then spent another of his few orders on CC I was shocked but he revealed in was for classifieds and he felt it was his best way to get the OP at the time. I passed 1 and failed 1 so only going unconscious putting more spanners in to his plan then he bet on. stopping the rampage with the mad dog he moved a metro back up the take a shot at my Charontids which put it down this time a result for me a kill in ARO. Camo marker moved out and advanced up to try to get another classified which he failed the Wip check and that was pretty much his turn and the dice helped me massively.

Turn 2 CA
I now had a massive angry dog to deal with and had pushed a’ lot up to start getting points in the zones only having Annie hidden near the dog. I popped out of hidden and moved in camo to be in 16″ and over 10″ for a chain rifle range and asked for his ARO he throws smoke to dodge the plasma rifle but I get 2 shots through and the dog goes down! I spent a lot of orders moving the umbra around to eat the Strelok and grab him for a classified and do a Wip check in his half for another on the way, rest of my turn was just moving up and going to suppressive where I could to hold him in his DZ which was not all that smart but feeling confident I had it controlled did so.

Turn 2 Ariadna
Now very short on orders and a lot of unconscious models so no room to move many orders had 2 small pools even after spend 4 to swap 2! Started off my walking Margot on the side which I had stupidly forgotten all about and gunned down my Charontids, ouch! my taighas which had all now moved up enough to hold his bear up dealing with easily but costing all important orders to do so pretty much end his turn but taking 70 points off me did hurt!

Turn 3 CA
Knowing now I needed to secure this for the win the umbra moved up and revealed his Zenit 7 which he blasted away with his plasma carbine and moved up to take the bear on this was risky I guessed it would come down to dice as both good at CC but my umbra having the edge I went for it, the plan worked brilliantly apart from now was his turn to pass all the arm saves and I just couldn’t get it down! I counted my orders deciding I’d have to leave CC risk getting stomped by the bear to move into points scoring zone this worked and I ran him up some stairs the bear couldn’t fit and hid on the roof. moving some baggage rems around and everything I could to have points to cover the zones settled down to repel Margot last ditch attempt to swing it.

Turn 3 Ariadna
Now in loss and down command tokens moved the bear up to try and take the Umbra down but had to climb the building which would take a move-move and the stairs being to narrow to stop on couldn’t get to him, Margot moved to near my DZ in attempt to take that zone and the game was called.

The count up ended that Margot was out pointed and I controlled the zone. No one had any models in the centre, I had missed my guess with Annie by a tiny bit, gutted! and I had the far zone along with 2 classifieds had 6OP and the Ariadna’s having 1OP from a classified. A hard fought victory for the great EI and a tough defence by the dirt farmers!
