Report:
We decided to use the same map as our Gekidan match we played before this because it was late and we are lazy. We drew the following objectives: Experimental Drug, Rescue, Predator, and Inoculation. To start off, each commander rolled off for initiative with YJ wining and taking first turn, as to hopefully get something done before the stabby bastards closed in on them, knowing that the terrain however favoured the side that Aleph ended up picking.
This training exercise turned horrible accident was sponsored by Palpatine Lobbying Inc. "We'll make it legal!"
Yu Jing deployed a nice, buff Invincibles 4 man fireteam on the left flank along the crate, complimented with the turret on top of a building. On the right flank, the Yu Jing commander chose to deploy the Hulang, along with the HVT.
Aleph chooses to deploy as follows:
In the building on the left flank, Aleph counter-deployed Hector with a team of Thorakites to try and get an early blast on the poorly placed Invicibles. In the center, they place a pair of Lamedh's in order to lock down movement. And similar to the last game, Aleph placed that bastard Machaon and his team on the catwalk on the right flank along with the turret.
YJ Turn 1
Though the deployment mistake of allowing Hector line of sight with that abominable sniper rifle is a problem, to start off, the Yu Jing commander moves the Hulang forward, but avoids crossing open terrain.
After some consideration, the Yu Jing commander decides to try to move the Invincible fireteam and gamble on firing back at Hector. He fires back at Hector and even though Hector hits the team twice, the team's armor holds (because buff guys, duh) and Hector is wounded due to a pair of decidedly deserved crits. Hector drops prone to get away. At this point the Invincibles move forward into better cover. Finally, the held back Liu Xing drops in and knocks one lamedh out, proceeds to coup de grace it and then disables the Thorakitai Paramedic.
Aleph Turn 1:
Quaking in their boots due to the presence of the Liu Xing, Aleph moves the Myrmidon Spitfire back to flank the Liu Xing and after two attempts, kills him. That bastard Machaon then fires the medkit at the downed paramedic and successfully gets her back up, completing an objective. The Aleph commander reforms the fireteam. At this point the Aleph commander pushes the myrmidon team up and takes out the opposing turret, due to having such great debuffs to throw at it that it could not actually fire. Afterwards, the myrmidon team descends into the building and scores a strafe on one of the Zuyong medics.
YJ Turn 2:
The Yu Jing commander tries to have the Hulang move up and it ignores the remaining Lamedh and Myrmidon with spitfire to move forward to take out the turret. After succeeding, the Yu Jing commander is now out of orders to spend on the Hulang, so he gets Krit Kokram to take on the generic Myrmidon with direct template weapons via. intuitive attacks, only to end up in a cloud of smoke and in melee because dumb stabby bastards.
Aleph Turn 2:
The Aleph commander starts this turn by leveraging the out of position Hulang, baiting him into dodging the Myrmidon Spitfire and moving into Hectors LOF. Hector then, after a few attempts, vaporizes the Hulang with his plasma rifle. At this point, the base Myrmidon goes through a prolonged slog to wipe out the Invicibles one at a time, miraculously not getting wounded or critted once, though it took *every* order to make it so, with the Invincibles making the myrmidon work for it.
On Yu Jing's third turn, due to having no units combat-capable, they go into retreat and the game ends with 5 points for Aleph and 0 for Yu Jing.
Aye, we could use some more multi-spectral visors, even if they don’t help against eclipse grenades. Please CB, gib moar visors.
Valiant defeat Commander. Smoke is hard for the glorious Invincible army to deal with.
One day, one beautiful day, I will beat Jag in a game. But it was not this day.
Invincible Army does have a hard time with Classifieds, Valiant effort Commander
Rough game, Netrods are really solid. Thanks for the report, it was a fun read!
Damn netrods man. They shouldn’t be allowed to exist.
It is sad about the jumpy boi.
Was a good game. I think the real winner here was the order pool difference.
