Durgama Takeover

Continuing on his mission to retrieve alien relics and stop human research on the technology, Kornak rallied his forces and launched an ambush on the Xiandao Neosteelworks. He was met by a reinforced Military Orders contingent. Full of confidence due to the recent victory at Cameliard Jeanne d’Arc led an elite force including Indigo Brother Konstantinos, Gabriele De Fersen, and a repeater network of bots.

Despite his strategic renown, Jeanne outwitted Kornak, maybe due to his recent battlefield injuries, allowing her forces to make the first move. The Crosier fireteam moved into position to support a Peacemaker and Auxbot near 2 friendly HVTs. The fireteam continued to shuffle allowing Konstantinos to move closer to the box identified as the target for Sabotage. Konstantinos broke away from the fire team to complete his objective of blowing up the crate. He then attempted Net-Undermine. It took several attempts, but he succeeded. Finally, he moved back to rejoin the fireteam in the future. (2 Cards were achieved)
To avoid being pinned down by HRL fire Kornak moved his fire team around a series of buildings to take on the Crosiers and Peacemaker on his terms. The Auxbot and Konstantinos were dropped, proving that “The Snake” cannot survive every battle. Clear of AROs, the Dartok Hacker in the fireteam achieved HVT: Espionage. Next, the haris team moved up on the other flank. From behind a building, the Kaitok safely passed his try to Follow-Up the nearby HVT. (2 Cards were achieved)

De Fersen realized that there was an enemy hacker in reach of the repeater in the Peacemaker. The Knight-Hacker eliminated the threat with the Trinity program. This broke the Kornak fireteam. The Peacemaker then moved out from behind cover and tried to template the MAF with its heavy shotgun. This only reached Kornak, who was easily able to dodge the attack. The bot tried again, this time with hit mode. He hit Kornak, already in NWI, and removed him from the battle. The Black Friar within the Crosier Fireteam moved into position to shoot the remaining Morats. She eliminated 2 of the 3 aliens. Then the power-haris of Hospitaller knights pressed the field and snuggled into the corner of a building and half wall. De Fersen tried to Data Scan the Suryat. He failed THREE TIMES! Sir Gabriele switched targets to Carbonite the Kaitok who proved to be a much easier target. The Kaitok was Immobilized-B. (0 cards)
“Doc Worm”, Med-Tech Obsidon Medchanoid, squirmed out of hiding and dodged the reduced bursts of ARO fire to reach the IMM-B Kaitok. He was able to free to HI on the next order. This emboldened the Suryat to spray the haris of M.O. leaders. The Suryat targeted the Knight-Dr and missed, De Fersen foolishly tried to Data Scan. (Not a valid ARO) The Suryat thwarted multiple times in his attempts to drop the Dr. but he stuck with it and dropped both the Knight dr. and De Fersen. Next, a Zerat was activated from her position on a rooftop. After a long-lasting firefight against the Crosier fireteam and Peacemaker, she fell. She did manage to damage the dronbot. (0 cards)

Jeanne now left without allies nearby, fired on the Suryat. She had intended to drop the wounded warrior and perform a Coup de Grace. Unfortunately, she overpowered the Suryat and killed him outright. Not wanting to take on the entire remaining MAF force she moved into position to support the fireteam on the other side of the board. A Pathfinder dronbot activated with limited orders. (Small group) It moved up and performed Mapping. Then it made a desperate attempt with its last order to hit twice on HVT: Designation. It made only one forward observe roll and did not complete the task. For its efforts, it took ARO fire from a Zerat hacker. She managed to drop the bot. (1 card achieved)
The Zerat took the opportunity for an easy kill and to perform a Coup de Grace (Extreme Prejudice) on the unconscious Pathfinder. A desperate attempt to climb the Vanguard Paramedic up a wall to revive the unconscious Zerat ended the way all expected. As a colorful decoration on the building thanks to the Black Friars’ HRL. The Kaitok, Yaogat, and Doc Worm were still riding high on the thrill of wounding De Fersen but found themselves out of range to complete any of the remaining objectives. (1 card achieved)
