Prologue

The sleek craft floated through the void of space silent as flotsam. Devoid of any details or markings, its black hull comprised of neomaterials was invisible to sensors, as well as anyone who happened to peek through one of the still in-tact portholes on the Raveneye station. The ship had pulled a hard burn from long distances and was now coasting slowly but inexorably towards the embattled weapons platform.

The cargo inside the ship was similarly dark, imposing and unadorned. The only color to be found on any of them was a small orange and black medallion clutched by the Kriza Borac. A token of mourning, and a promise of vengeance. She gripped the token tighter and focused her mind to the task at hand.

Silent and imposing the strike force kept their minds on the upcoming assault, pushing out of their heads the reality that if spotted, their ship would be sitting a duck for the Morat artillery that had been hastily attached to the outer hull of the Raveneye. Failure truly was not an option.

Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor Turn 1

Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska Vs. Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
300 points - Capture and Protect

We both pass leadership and Carl opts to take first turn (nuts!) I choose sides and he is forced to deploy first. My bikes roll +2 armor, monofilament CCW, and Mimitism -6. Sofrza sets up as a Grenzer MSR, to convince McMurder that ha can’t smoke dodge, and to try and get Jazz to waste orders on white noise. I strip 2 orders from his big link, and the game is off!

A Moran drops a Koala in trigger range of my Heckler, and McMurder sneaks up. I point out that my Grenzer (Sforza) will be able to see him through the smoke if he tries to go for the beacon. So instead, the big link of Gromoz, the Brigada Lt., Massacre, the Daktari, and the Wildcat Spitfire advance. I get insanely lucky as Jazz takes 3 orders to white noise the Wildcat. Wildcat comes out and draws a bead on the Grenzer (Sforza), and I reveal my clever ploy! Sforza still fails the F2F and dies, but at least he wasted 3 orders. With little else to do, McMurder takes cover on my side of the board, and his link repositions. On his last order, a Missile bot climbs on top of a roof for a good vantage point and spies a bike, but the bike dodges successfully forward.

McMurder takes cover
TR bot covers McMurder as Corregidor passes the turn.

Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska Turn 1

I survived fairly well, but he is now covering all my bikes with a TR bot and a missile bot. I move the Heckler into the big group to maintain orders, and the turn is off! The +2 arm bike that dodged last round thinks it might be in range to BSG the Wild Cat spitfire, so risks it for the biscuit! I am in by a hair! The Wild Cat dodges, I AP shot it twice, and the bike eats an unopposed missile and flash pulse! The Wild Cat fails the dodge and is removed from the table, and the bike actually passes all 3 armor saves from the missile but IS flash pulsed. Go biker!

Spectre sees the perfect place to kill most of the link if I can stick a landing (which I typically don’t risk), but no dice, I fail and he is back on my table edge by my console.
My mim -6 bike advances to trigger the Koala and free up space for Perseus to go kill McMurder. Unfortunately, I fail my dodge and armor and the bike dies for her sins. Next, the Kriza spends a Lt. order to take down the TR bot covering McMurder and puts it in 2nd level KO. In another order, the Kriza pokes around the other corner of his building and after a scary fire fight, removes the missile bot from the table. Here I make a rules error, I forget that only FTO Raoul can join the Perseus link team. My opponent was very gracious about this after the game when I realized. Perseus moves up, and after 3 crits in 2 orders, removed McMurder. Raoul then breaks the link after getting some illegal distance up the table. In short, he KO’d Massacre (and I AGAIN forget about regeneration, but that is my penance for being a dirty cheater!), killed Gromoz, and KO’d the Daktari. During this rampage, he gets spotlit which gets him a 2-point classified. I move up my monofilament bike to position for next turn, and that is it!

Perseus takes down the dog!
Biker takes off the Wildcat and survives the missile only being stunned!

Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor Turn 2

Massacre passes his regen and springs to his feet! My opponent also uses 2 command tokens to consolidate his remaining orders into 1 combat group. The Clock Maker stands up to reach and revives the stricken TR bot. The TR Bot then drives down the wall, and slides up the flank. After a couple orders, is able to see both remaining bikers, and in 1 order it puts them both into KO! Next it gets into a fight with a Perseus, but at -6, Perseus is able to smoke dodge. Next, the Brigatta spends its Lt. orders to put down Raoul, it takes an extra order after some good saves, but on the 2nd order it sticks and down goes the Merc!

With his remaining orders, he guides Billy down the same flank as the TR bot and hides on a roof near by my Kriza.

Brigada avenges Daktair and Gromoz!

Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska Turn 2

Both my bikes are KO’d at the moment, so no impetuous phase. The Stempler zond who was chilling on a roof top climbs on a crate to see Billie. It eats a free shot from the Brigada Lt. and dies, but in it’s death, it DOES kill Billie! Repeater removed! Next, the Puppet Master tries to use the only order in the pool to place a mine to hit the TR bot, but the range looks dicey. Perseus gets into a gun fight with the TR bot. The mine is out of range sadly, but Perseus beats the TR bot twice and down it goes again. The Kriza (now safe from repeaters for the moment) advances and shoots the Clock Maker standing on the building, but a crit dodge sees him dive for cover successfully.

The Heckler tries to make a Camo’d run up to claim the console, but is sadly discovered and forced to take cover to avoid numerous ARO’s. With my last 2 orders, Bubble Gum the Securitate paramedic uses 2 orders to shoot and revive the 2 bikes.

Looks like I didn't get a shot of this turn (game was heating up!) so here is a glamour shot of the Heckler.

Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor Turn 3

point classified and so defends the beacon. First, the Clock Maker stands up and picks off the exposed Heckler Jammer. Next, Jazz pitches 2 repeaters in front of where the Kriza might go. She lands the near one, but not the far one so he has some freedom. Next, the Brigada and the Raveneye Officer reposition to cover the beacon. Final order is a coordinated order to suppress the Clock Maker, the Brigada Lt., and the Raveneye Officer. There is also likely an E/M mine from the Raveneye Officer guarding the Beacon. And that’s it for Corregidor, can they hold on to their narrow lead and whether the desperate Tunguska counterattack?

Another turn with no pics! Sorry! So here is the heroic biker!

Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska Turn 3

Its go time! I only have a 1 point classified, so the only way to not lose is to capture that beacon! Perseus is now Frenzied, and takes his Frenzy move to advance and smoke the path ahead. The Clock Maker suppresses, but at -9, the smoke goes off! Next, both bikes roar forward and try to dodge the incoming flashpulses and suppression from the Brigada. Neither pass their dodge, but the Arm3 bike again passes 2 armor saves and the flash pulse misses! Next, the Kriza spends its Lt. Order and blasts the Clock Maker at long range and puts him in the dirt. The surviving biker pushes her luck and advances to towards the raven eye officer. The Officer dodges, expecting an attack, and the Brigada and Transductor Zond open fire, but it was a ruse! The bike instead takes its second move and triggers the E/M mine clearing a path for Perseus! She does her duty admirably, but does finally die for her sins. After this, Perseus and the main pool orders are all that are left! With a cautious advance he is able to avoid dueling the Mobile Brigada Lt. in suppression, and a smoke grenade covers his approach to the Console from Massacre, the Brigada, AND the Raveneye Officer. After that, he passes a wip roll to get the classified, and finished the turn capturing the beacon!

4-2 Tunguska!

As a note, obviously the illegal linking impacted the game quite a bit, but we only noticed afterwards. My opponent was extremely gracious about this, and deserves extra props for making it so close even then! Thanks Carl!

Despite the heroic efforts of the Raveneye Officer to dodge into CC to stop Perseus, he grabs the objective!

Epilogue

The boarding did not go the way Chief of Operations Jax expected. The specially designed and rapidly produced boarding skiff punched through the hull and delivered her lethal cargo into what should have been an enemy stronghold. But when they arrived, they were greeted by what appeared to be the Corregidor security attaché they had been sent to relieve.

At first spirits had been high, the beleaguered defenses had made back some ground, and appeared well equipped. Then Jax started to notice the details, holes in body armor that should have been fatal, not a hint of the garbled Spanglish that made up Corregidor street slang, and no one seemed happy to see the Tunguskan relief force. But it wasn’t until the two Ariadnians walked around the corner carrying the stripped-naked body of the Alguacil that the reality of the situation slammed into place. Jax felt the white hot fury raise in her chest at the sight of the Ariadnian soldiers looting the dead Nomad citizens.

Before she could even give the order, the roar of the Kriza’s heavy machine gun cut the stunned silence. The roar wouldn’t let up until the last of Volga’s ammunition reserves were let loose at the treacherous Ariadnians. Whatever further mischief the Ariadnians had planned was halted, for now.
