The Triumvirate had decided to give a Kamael command of this squad, what could possibly go wrong…
Aside from the fact the squad arrived at the wrong location and fought for the wrong objective, the junior officer preformed quite well. Senior command did set the unit up for success by also sending a Gorgos, Draal, Sukeul and Taqeul along the mission. Apparently the Ariadna forces were just as surprised to see the monstrous Gorgos appear in a location they thought was quite secure.
In the end the element of surprise and advanced Tohaa tech proved too much for the valiant Tartary forces. Once the fighting stopped, the Kamel embarrassingly noticed the mistake in coordinates and started the push toward the bow of Raveneye.
After Action Report:
Turn one
Tohaa started the game going first but deploying second. Due to the excellent position of the Tartary Army not a lot happened in this first exchange. A bit of positioning with two key sequences. The first by laying some eclipse smoke via Taqeul, a Draal was able to sneak deep into the midfield and go into suppressive fire with his AP marksman rifle. The second was the Sukeul HMG gaining a firing position via eclipse from a triad linked Makaul. The HMG was able to drop an opposing over watching HMG .
Bottom of turn one the Tartary forces moved against the Tohaa presence and focused the attention to the opposing Sukeul. During this push a hidden tank hunter appeared and with a well placed critical shot, dispatched the Sukeul. This came at a price as the lumbering Gorgos stepped out and sent an AP round into the aggressor. The round missed fully dispatching the enemy but did temporarily stun the deadly autocannon trooper. This would later come back to haunt other friendly Triads. Being pinned down by suppressive fire, the Tartary forces repositioned and dug in for the next wave of the assault.
Turn Two –
The Gorgos now feeling his path was opened sent his linked Chaska ahead to assist in discovering a suspicious looking spot on the field. During this movement the Chaska reported a hidden unit and then fell silent to an incoming HRL from a fireteam positioned on distant roof. This sacrifice was not in vein as the Gorgos opened fire on the now exposed hidden unit before he could cause mayhem in the backfield. With a dangerous rooftop HRL looking down on the battlefield the Taquel moved into action, laying down eclipse cover to get into striking distance. The strange smell confused and then suddenly caused convulsions in the enemy trooper as the Taquel released his alien tech on the Tartary trooper above. At this point the Draal seized the opportunity and resumed his suppressive fire to keep the heads down on the enemy.
After seeing his allies fall around him a hidden 112 jumped into action and determined he had to do something. As he sprung to his feet and shot a med kit at the fallen autocannon wielding trooper a flurry of light rocket fire came in from the forward positioned triad. The Sakiel’s rocket found it’s mark but so did the medics healing kit. The Autocannon trooper sprang to life and immediately started laying down fire. The trooper fired at the Gorgos forcing him to miss wide and allowing him an escape path. He then opened up on a Makaul who tried to dive to cover but was outmatched by the velocity of the round. Next a flurry of rounds found their mark into the Taqeul sending him to the ground. The Sakiel who witnessed his Triad being annihilated by heavy fire quickly sent a light rocket towards the heavy gun. Once again this rocket found it’s mark and silenced the big gun.
Turn Three
At this point the Draal stepped in to carry on the push started by the Taqeul. The target in front of him was dispatched as he made his way to what looked like the leader of the group. A lone trooper with a large guard dog was standing behind some cover just within striking distance. In his next movement the Draal took up position and unleashed AP rounds into his foe. The unit and his imposing guard slumped over and the Tartary coms chatter fell silent.
At this point the Tartary forces had suffered heavy losses and pulled back to try and save Colonel Voronin. They did successfully extract their leader but at a heavy cost.
Mission accomplished for the new Kamael commander .. even if it was at the wrong location 🙂
Great win for Tohaa! Showing we are a force to be reckoned with!
Nice!
Beautiful mini!
Thanks everyone, I don’t typically play a Kamael Lt. but I just painted this mini so I thought why not. lol
Again, I really appreciate the positive feedback on my first attempt at a battle report.
P.S. The Gorgos is still only primed but he is on the painting desk now so maybe one of my upcoming battle reports.
